Way higher than 'battle ready' standard mate! Some good examples of what to do with Contrast as well. Personally for really horde based models like pox walkers I'd go even simpler aiming for say a spray undercoat/base with 3 base colours and 1-2 washes plus a sneaky dry brush if the model needs to pop a bit more.
Finally, right? I've had these guys in the cupboard for ages, and it seemed at long last like time to haul them out and finally throw some paint on the horrid little beasties. Thanks, bud. :)
Another fantastic video - love your nurgle stuff. You have a really presenting style making great results simple. Your plague marine tutorial from a while back inspired me to get back into it after about 25 years off!
for a supercool final touch, dropping some nurgles rot on the boils makes it look extra tasty and will add only a minute or 2 to your paint time - its disgustingly delightful!
There's a lot you can do with them with just a little experimentation. I don't think they'll ever completely replace 'normal' paints, but that's not what they're there to do, and for stuff like this they look properly grotty! :D
Nice to have you back! It’s been too long between videos! 😁 Thanks for the tutorial. I like the various use of colours. Giving ideas for other models. Thank you! Cheers! 👍😁
What an absolutely vulgar looking model- it looks great! You could also rust the weapon a little too since everything they touch deteriorates. In spite of this painting being a vile concoction of nastiness to a model it is great to see another tutorial. I hope I gave you some choices for describing the Poxwalkers. I also hope you will consider doing the Imperial Guard in the Contrast method or maybe a Space Marine Imperial Fist. Thanks for sharing this neat tutorial.
Ooh, that's an excellent list... I'm going to have to update my repertoire from just 'gross,' now! ;D I've got a few things in mind for the Contrast Guardsman, and the pre-shade seems to work pretty well for them, based on a couple of experiments.
thanks great model tried the experiments druki violet was a good result but stay away from grey seer cp undercoat and plaguebearer colour and agrax earthshade unless you want greenish poxwalker and ultramarine blue and skin colour makes a nice green if running out of colours for trousers/clothes
Any chance of doing a few larger models like a mephitic blight hauler, foetid bloat drone, redemptor dreadnought or even full vehicles like a repulsor or plagueburst crawler? I'd love to have a guide to follow as they are fairly sparse at the moment.
If any of you ever forgot to unpack sandwiches from a backpack after school or a trip and let's say you remembered about it 2 weeks later ... It will not scare anyone to paint the disgustingness on Nurgle units.
I have a few of the new contrast paints. I'd love to get my models painted but every time I have a day off from work it rains. I have stynlrez and Vallejo primers but I've never brushed on either of them before.
The beauty of airbrush thinned paints is that you don't need to thin it all so much for brush work and you can use a big brush to spread it around because it's a prime coat. Give it a try, you'll be surprised how quick it goes
Magos Purple is a good one if you're looking to make them look gross and stand out against the skin, but for 'real' maggots something simple like Skeleton Horde would do the trick.
A darker green can work quite well, too, surprisingly enough. Blue's another good choice, especially a denim kind of look. Otherwise any simple brown or beige just to fill space doesn't hurt.
Glutenous globules, Festering flesh, bloated blubber, encrusted exudate, & sinuous sluff. Not bad for a non-Warhammer gamer...😂😂🤪🤪. I’m old, cut me a little slack..

Poxwalkers! Yay! I asked for this some time ago, and you have made a video! Thank you so much! PS: all the best to you and your mom!! Stay strong.

Yeurgh, that sounds repulsive... perfect, in other words, but so gross! 😂
It took my far to long to notice all episodes are VERY SPECIAL ones lol, love your videos keep it up!
Was kinda nervous, then at the end he finally brought out the Agrax Earthshade
Now THAT's the great tutorial on Contrast paints! Love it, so simple and yet effective ❤️

@@SonicSledgehammerStudio Fantastic! I am looking forward to the tutorials.
I'm not certain that you're using that wet pallette correctly ☺️
This paintjob was Pleasantly disgusting.
Great video just love pox walker's
Thanks for another great video 👍 makes me day 😊

Not sure they’re “Metal Plugs”. I believe they’re “popped” or burst bubos. I’d have painted seosanguineous exudate
Pus pustules? Warts?
Bravo! Bravo! I’d say well done but there’s nothing “we’ll” about these guys.
If they were well, they wouldn't even be on the battlefield, I suppose! ;)
@@SonicSledgehammerStudio no pox, just walking, I'd imagine

Just white priming about 25 of these today and any tips are most appreciated for painting later on
Could you do a Kharadron Overlord model using the contrast paints?

What a good of colors for the occasional maggots?

I love these little guys look so fun to paint! Are they pricy?
Besides from orange pants and anyone got any alternatives? Should I just look around the opposite to green on the colour wheel?
A darker green can work quite well, too, surprisingly enough. Blue's another good choice, especially a denim kind of look. Otherwise any simple brown or beige just to fill space doesn't hurt.
@@SonicSledgehammerStudio thanks, it would look weird to have 25 of them with the usual recommend orange pants

World's driest "wet" palette.
Foul, odious, horrid, vile, repugnant (my favorite), detestable, abominable, gruesome, revolting, abhorrent and appalling. Well done!
You just searched up a load of synonyms for disgusting didn't you?
Good thing I found this one too. Stolen
abhorrent, abominable, appalling, awful, distasteful, dreadful, foul, hideous, horrendous, horrible, horrid, loathsome, nasty, nauseating, nauseous, noxious, obnoxious, obscene, odious, offensive, rancid, repugnant, repulsive, revolting
Vile, nausiatic, disgusting
Positively repugnant
