Frequent visitors might wish to invest in a copy of “Lives of the Desert Animals of Joshua Tree National Monument” by Miller and Stebbins. It’s out of print but can be easily found from used book dealers. Brand new copies used to be available at Monument (Park) headquarters, but I imagine they have long since sold out!
When in my youth, my true love and I spent many hours in the park. Watching this wonderful video brought back the best memories of my life and a tear in my eye. Thanks for one hell of a rush.

We visited Joshua Tree NP early in April of 2018 on our 52 day 5th wheel trip from Maine. It was beautiful and interesting. Your sunrise photos in the park are simply stunning!! Thank you for the reminder of this park. Travel safe.
Catherine... Hello sweetheart. The way you set your camp up really cracked me up. Who knew it could be so simple. Usually takes me a half hour or fourty five minutes. Just got home a little while ago. I was hiking at Rolling Thunder Prairie this morning. It's one of our many state preserves scattered around Iowa. I call them hidden gems in plain sight. I want to thank you again for last Sunday's livestream. That was so much fun. I hope that you'll consider doing more in the future. Perhaps around your birthday next summer. Hi Catherine, Wow,. a surprise trip to the desert, sometimes I think the desert's "time" is when it's a 120 degrees out. Interesting the effect the sun makes in the water vapor in the sky at 16:21 into the video. And that closing shot was beautiful. Happy Trails.

Another wonderful video. Have bittersweet memories of JTNF. Haven't been back since. Yeah, I know... Let it go and move on... This video was what I needed after a very stressful week. (The high points were the death of a much-beloved cousin and my truck getting crunched in a hit-and-run while en-route to the funeral.) I enjoyed that obviously "contented sigh"! I also enjoyed the California Quail. A much-needed laugh! I have several areas on my farm in South Carolina where quail nest. Please, more sunrise/sunset scenes. Like you said, those are magnificent in the high desert. However, your "touch" would make them really special. TNX also for the cooking vids. You don't just show creativity with your outdoor videos, you encourage it in others with these. Regarding the sponsorship... Very well done! Those skies were something else….thanks for sharing! Also the quail…those were a species called Gambels Quail…common in the desert regions in the Southwest deserts…Mountain Quail are there as well but uncommon…

Hawk, Squirrel... No it's a Hawk. LOL Grew up in South Central Valley and up in the Bay Area now so it's been a long time since I have been to Joshua Tree. As a kid it always gave me that uneasy feeling that I'm dead if things go wrong. LOL You can be alone real quick in November out in that part of the desert and while the weather is still a factor you don't get super extremes like you can in the summer.
