375 - The Hunt for Shiny Absol - 6 LIVE Shiny Pokemon in X and Y! (including the scary horde)

- So many shinies in one video!! Every single phase in my hunt for Absol is included in this video. This is the first in a series of hunts in which I will look for Shiny Absol in every generation it's available in! (3,4,5,6)

The biggest tip I can give you if you know it will be a long hunt: gather all your favorite music into one giant playlist (make sure you're okay with getting tired of it lol). Gym leader and boss battle music is my favorite for hyping me up

Shiny Zangoose is blue and white
Uses blue and white pokeball to catch it
Seviper is black and yellow
Uses black and yellow pokeball in it
Also, you just saved a seviper from a group of bullies LOL

Sameeeeee! absol was my first shiny and i actually got a tattoo of it, absol is the best! I now have like 3 shiny absols and I try to get an absol wherever I can lol!
I was playing X/Y and I found 2 back to back random shiny absols, they were the best pokemon on my team, the first to reach level 100, one was mega, one wasn’t... so yeah, it’s one of my favourite pokemon, and I have about a box full of shiny absols (and about one and a half of mienfoo)
I love absol but not as much the shiny form
I have 15 shiny Chansey 3 of them were random as I was levelling up and the rest I shiny hunted

I've been trying that Synchronoize Noctowl trick since 2014 but I always ended up with the Shiny Zangoose (and 500 wingdrols) anyway Major congrats on these multiple neat shinies :)

congrats. shiny absol is awesome especially when its in mega form. I have one as well. got him fron a friend safari after 7days in a dark safari trying for mightyena. and also it had its hidden ability. (I got the mightyena on the same day, 5 encounters)

You could have used a smeargle. You could make it learn false swipe, plus it could learn syncronoise, and its a normal type, so it would have worked.
Shouldn't Follow Me also be able to keep the Zangoose from killing Seviper? I'm not entirely sure it works right in horde battles but it should work.
But then how do u plan on killing them? :)

@@zapplesnow True, I didn't think of that XD. I can't think of any other way of making it work besides using heal pulse on the seviper when it gets low. But it's a very luck based and inefficient way of catching it
@@gamesmasher1489 even then, "follow me" works only one turn, so next turn u use heal pulsd And all 4 zangs attack poor snake:D

It's a long video but it's an awesome compalation with a funny intro too :) Absol looks so damn gorgeou with: the green eyes, the red parts and it's mega evolution, it's just to perfect :D Glad you ended up on getting awesome shinies on those phases before getting that gorgeous one :) Btw, you named your 2nd mienfoo after my name and I don't know why but I apperciated... I guess XD Anyway, congrats and good luck on getting that beauty on the other 3 gens ;)
Someone's probably pointed this out already, but a possibly safer method of dealing with those self-aggressing hordes is a Gardevoir with Skill Swap and the Telepathy ability. Give Telepathy to the Zangoose/Seviper/whatever you want to catch and it'll evade all attacks from its own side. Then pick off the others one by one and you're good.
What is the synchronize method? Btw, I LOVE your videos!
SquishyPanda Thank you! It's not synchronize, it's the move synchronoise, which only hits Pokemon that are the same type as the user. Noctowl using the move can knock out all the Zangoose without hurting the Seviper

Also me : ooh okay so zangoose is a flying type okay
Zangoose is a Normal type! Noctowl is Normal/Flying, so Synchronoise works on Zangoose since it's Normal type

no poison types can learn synchronise so that makes finding a shiny zangoose in a horde of seviper in pokemon y really scary
You can breed a ralts with telepathy as its ability and the move skill swap and use it on the zangoose. With that ability, it can't get hurt by the Seviper :)
Absol is a super simple but awesome shiny
My favourite Pokemon is snorlax, shame it has such a crappy shiny, I still sos hunted one in sun, took over 1200 sos encounters tho, bloody thing 😂
I shiny hunt but never heard of it. What is a phase when shiny hunting?
I think it's like certain goals for a long term shiny hunt of multiple Pokemon and each phase ends when you catch one of the pokemon. I don't know for certain though.
I randomly encountered one while trying to get a shiny mighyena in the friend Safari. Got said migheyna a few encounters later

I spent 90 hours trading and shiny hunting for my shiny Absol and after not playing for about a year, I rebooted today to find all 400 Pokémon gone 💔
I hunted mienfoo here. I got 3 inkay and a wingull before I got her.
This hunt had some bangers for phases. Glad each catch was a success!
