I do my hanging of a door quilt a little different. Just another idea. I do four triangle in the four corners. Under the binding. Then use two rods. This way the bottom doesn’t curl up. I have a hook in my door and the rod fits over it. Thank you Pat.

Great video of how to hang a wall hanging or door hanging. I have never thought of using a dowel. Thank you so much for this. I have made so many quilts that I have somewhat turned to making wall hangings. A person can only have so many quilts and give away so many quilts so wall hangings are better for me to feel productive and still be sewing.

Thank you for the hanging sleeve tutorial! I finished my block yesterday and didn’t know how to make it hang. Oh that your video had come out just a day sooner! But instead I found an old YT tutorial that showed how to stitch two fabric triangles into the top two corners, where they are stitched in as the binding is machine sewn on. A dowel is then inserted, and the whole thing can be simply hooked on a nail or such. I found a square 24” dowel at Joann’s which fit perfectly. The video said to use squares about one-fourth the length of the top, then press them into triangles (so the finished edge is visible, and the raw edges are stitched into the binding. I liked the end result, as no wooden dowel protrudes out the sides of the finished block. This technique would not work for bigger hangings, but was perfect for this 24” block. Thank you so much for all you share with us. I watch all your videos.

Hi Pat, Thank you for sharing how you put the little looped screws on the end of your dowle rod! This is much easier and will work better than what I have done for years, which is taking my little saw and sawing a slit in each end of the fowl to put the thread or ribbon through. I am working on the Ukrainian pattern today. Thank you for all that you do for us viewers! Have a great day.

I am doing the Be My Neighbor quilt along. I am so excited to get started. My question is, will you make the blocks in order, or jump around? I am planning to take a little creative license and make something that looks like my past house that my husband and I shared for 38 years, and my present house that I now share with my son and his family (since my husband passed away a few years ago). Just trying to plan ahead for the ones I am personalizing. Thanks Pat for your inspiration.
