    I only have 25 hours in this game, but I wish I had seen this 25 hours ago! The in-game tutorials are fun, but (to me anyway) leads you to believe that it's a different type of game. This video just gets straight to the meat and bones of the game, thank you!

      That is awesome to hear, thanks for that feedback. This series I think is completed, but I think it was 8-10 episodes long. There is a new update coming for TF2 tomorrow, so I'm hoping to do another series for TF2 with the new update!

      Thank you for the kind words and feedback! Next time I load up TF2 I'll need to see if there is a setting for making the cursor larger!
      We do need to revisit this one and do some more playthroughs of it. It's been my plan, I just haven't had the time as of late, hoping to do some stuff soon though.

      I would love to see it when it comes out. I've played Civilization (1 -V1) since the early 90's and I love it. Pretty good at it now too. I just found the buttons and the text SO small in TF2 and where to start?? Just no clue in the actual game... what was it I was supposed to achieve?? So your gameplay videos have been a wonderful help.
      Thanks again.

    First tip, play on Easy. Medium and Hard specially are way more punishing. Even with lots of experience with this franchise, its not easy to be profitable at Hard(even if i believe Hard isnt that draconic as in first TF).
    Second tip, that makes your life at beginning easier is set time progress to Paused. Build basic network with basic vehicles, connect two-three cities and make some industry lines that will get you out of debt, so later when you unpause time progress and you need upgrade vehicles, you can afford it. Its better to upgrade entire line than having slower and faster vehicles mixed.
    Third tip, if you can make line carrying goods in both directions, do it. Like example, train takes logs from forest to sawmill and on the way back it takes planks to factory. That makes line way more profitable as you get some profit on the way back instead of going empty. Its not going to work with everything, but logs/planks or crude oil/oil/fuel are ones where you need just one type of vagon to carry all(Crude Oil to Fuel is best starting industry line for that reason). Trucks can carry all kind of cargo early so they are extremely profitable. Downside is limited capacity and limited flow of vehicles road allows.
    Fourth tip, Even if its sometimes justifiable, you want avoid overcrowding lines with too many vehicles. Vehicles that are waiting in line to be loaded are not making any profit, only cost you maintenance. If your line is losing money, try remove some vehicles so remaining gets loaded faster and actually make profit. Only add vehicles when are they needed(station is overcrowded with goods or passengers).

      I haven't found this to be true, but naturally I think it makes sense that 'Easy' is easier than 'Hard.' Hopefully that would be common sense for most people struggling to get going in this game. I believe this playthrough may have been done on normal, but most of my time playing the game was on "hard." I barely noticed a difference between the difficulty settings in terms of my ability to play and progress in the game.
      Yes in any management game, using pause while building, planning and setting up is a must. I believe we spend a decent amount of time paused in this episode.

    • @cyphi474
      @cyphi474 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@KRX_ On Easy, you get double(i think) ammount from delivering cargo and you pay only half ammount of maintenance costs(on Hard its opposite). For new player, i would strongly suggest go for Easy, because its unlikely to Bankrupt even if your company isnt very efficient.
      And i meant, Pause time progress, not game itself(offcourse you want pause game when building). Just for first few lines, to get your company into positive ballance. Then you can let time progress again to get better vehicles.

    • @toshikotanaka3249
      @toshikotanaka3249 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn't realize that vehicles waiting to be loaded weren't making money. I'd have a fleet of vehicles waiting for cargo and thinking "Am I efficient or what?" while I'm losing money. It was irritating. I took your advice and got rid of vehicles. Cargo was piling up on the docks but as soon as a vehicle arrived it was loaded and gone. I started making money!
      Thanks for the tip!

    Hi! Thank you so much for the video. I can’t find the buildings tab or vehicles? Just started the game

    • @KRX_
      @KRX_  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey! It is possible they've updated the UI a bit? I'm not sure why it would be difficult finding the basic tabs, they should be present similar to how we access them in this video. Of course going through the official tutorial in-game will show you how to navigate and access the basic menus. This tutorial we made is more about how to play the game strategically, not how to play it mechanically. That should be taught during the in-game tutorial.

    The difference between easy and medium is outstanding. On easy most resources are nearby. So you have saw mills just near forests and you have short path between res chains. On medium they are 1-2 tiles away. On hard probably scattered over the map randomly.

    • @KRX_
      @KRX_  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      This play through is on the 'Hard' difficulty. But what you're saying is actually not true (unless this has been updated since launch?) There are settings in the setup for increasing or reducing the industry density on the map. More industry on the map, industry is closer together. Less industry on the map, is more spread a part.
      Another issue with this statement is the assuming that items connected across a larger distance is a bad thing. In this game, the profitability of a system is partly based on it's distance traveled and the MORE distance traveled, the more money you make! Although yes, large/long systems do require more initial investment.
      But there is no adjustment to the map simply based on the difficulty options.

    • @olegdoroshenko4836
      @olegdoroshenko4836 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@KRX_ So no need to build roads to optimize route? In this case they will be getting less money?

    • @KRX_
      @KRX_  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@olegdoroshenko4836 I'm not actually sure if it's distance traveled on the vehicle making the trip, or if it's just distance between destinations (like as a bird flys?)
      However, the point of what I'm saying is, nearly as system you build to deliver materials from one place to another will make money, as long as the vehicles are picking up nearly full loads and not getting bogged down in traffic.

      It seems like you're contradicting yourself here. You say that the longer the distance travelled the more money you make but then also say you're unsure whether it's distance travelled or as the bird flies. You finish up by saying that as long as the vehicles are picking up their full loads you will make money which is obvious on that one. As the OP you replied to stated, why bother optimizing the routes in the first place? lastly, this video was played on Medium difficulty and not Hard as you said in a comment above.

    Hi, when you unpause and the time starts to run, what is the minimum speed time? I mean, is the slowest speed like real-time? Also, is there a day/night cycle in the game?

    • @KRX_
      @KRX_  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No day/night cycle, (that would be a great thing to add!) The time adjustable, it definitely cannot go to "real time." It goes rather fast and the years ago by at a brisk pace. I'm not sure the exact timescale. There are 3-4 different speeds you can flip between.

    How do you rotate in this game

    • @KRX_
      @KRX_  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Rotating the camera? I can't remember off the top of my head, sometimes its middle mouse click, sometimes it's Q & E keys, you'll just have to look at the controls in the settings menu.
      Rotating items has a common hotkey of R, however again, all this is in the settings menu. You just have to go look.

    It would be nice if you explain tools and how to buy train busses, instead of spending all the time on teaching us strategy as everyone whose wants to play will be least interested in it.

    • @KRX_
      @KRX_  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well the game does have a basic tutorial and I think that should teach you 'how to play' in the sense of what buttons to hit, how to buy stuff, build stuff, etc. The nature of this video is to help people get off onto the right foot strategically, in terms of managing their business/economy.

  • @oscarmikegaming5568

    Due... I can barely hear you.

    • @KRX_
      @KRX_  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry to hear that. Depending on your setup there could be three different auto points to check to make sure your settings are not turned down. TH-cam Volume, Windows Volume and also your Headphone/Speaker Volume. Are you on speakers by chance?
      I have heard people say before the audio on the content is a bit low, but most people seem to view and enjoy it without volume issues. For me, I can easily hear the videos with only 40-50% headphone volume (if I was to turn it up to the 100% it would be painfully loud.)
      This is a video that is 18 months old... so I'm not sure what exactly you would expect me to do about you not being able to hear it. I assume you solved the problem by moving on to a different video series. Good luck and have fun!
