    Who remembers Eli’s first Halo 2 montage? Probably watched that a hundred times as a kid. First intro to Dragonforce. There is still nothing in Halo quite as satisfying as landing a greasy double shot or bxr-ing someone coming up lift on midship. Eli, thanks for the childhood inspiration!

    I’ve consumed hundreds of hours of pro gameplay, gameplay breakdowns (including Ryanoob behind the curls series) etc. Basically all educational halo infinite content that exists on the internet and this is, by a long shot, the most insightful exchange between player and mentor that I have come across. I highly recommend to anyone that’s reading this (and wants to improve) to take the time to watch the full recording of the Metafy session on Shyways twitch channel (Shyway has provided the direct link in the description of this video). Nobody in this space breaks down and simplify the team aspect of this game better than Eli. I watched the full metafy session yesterday and played ranked arena this morning and had 30 kills, 12 deaths on an Aquarius capture the flag game. My rank fluctuates between high Diamond and low Onyx every season, but I truly feel that I can break beyond 1500-1550 now after being equipped with such beautiful insights. I can 100% see why people choose to book metafy sessions with Eli. Shyway also did a great job with the two games he chose to get feedback on since he contrasted a perhaps slightly weaker game type/map combination for him, against one in which he’s definitely more practiced. This results in the viewer being able to clearly see and compare the outcomes of the same player making the right vs wrong decisions in game. This channel is the pinnacle of educational halo content, and I might even venture to say that no better educational FPS content exists for free on the internet. Shyway is the gold standard and most certainly the way forward. Love this channel and this community and love you Shyway forever❤

    What a great idea for a vid! It would be REALLY interesting to see a coaching session from a high level H2 or H3 player who hasn’t touched Infinite at all (or only very casually). Just to see what kind of fundamentals translate game to game. I’m sure it would be very hard to find someone compatible, but this vid definitely sparked that idea.

    I have to keep re-watching these videos because I fall back into bad habit of going solo. Play your life. Partner up with a team mate. Control your part of the map, no need to constantly rotate if you have an advantageous sight line. Put in damage but no need for challs, trust team mates to finish. Do your 25%.
    I kinda wish there was a roll set or play style rules for "personality" types. I get lost in figuring out what I could be doing for the given objectives and situation. How can I be a better team mate basically.

    This has highlighted a major flaw in my own approach to playing FPS games. I’ve always thought that I should go where my team isn’t, to get that first impact kill or whatever, but the problem is I usually have to win a 1v2 to have any kind of impact, which doesn’t work particularly well. Part of that is probably because I’m always trying to find an odd angle and catch the other team off guard. Hmm.

    Follow the objective and you will win more. If u just go for killd and no ball time, if u go for kills and don't pull and capture the flag, ur not going to improve. You may get 30 kills and still lose. U have to be able to do both. Get the kills and capture the flag or hold the ball.

    The "you're only 25% of the team" mentality only works if your playing with the same team everyday. I play solo literally all the time i never even play with a duo partner. Im consistantly MVP like 80% of the time most kills and most obj. Yet i still lose more than win because while im doing 75% of the work the other 3 people on my team struggle to make up the last 25% between the 3 of them. I cant even tell you how many oddball matches ive lost with 2 mins ball time and over 25 kills by myself. Or strong holds with 10+ captures and 30 kills. Meanwhile the randoms i get stuck with struggle to get 10 seconds ball time or 3 caps and cant even get 10 kills. Thats how my matches go a majority of the time. What are some ways i can stop that from happening without having to find a reliable team to play with?

    Hey shyway, I know I’m just a random nobody in the community, but I would like to give you some advice. I’ve actually played you quite a few times and have beaten you majority of the time. I’ve noticed when I play you and even when watching this video that you focus on movement a lot and hitting all these jumps. The problem with this is you are just utilizing all this movement just to utilize the movement and not utilizing it when it needs to be utilized. Instead just focus on what needs to be accomplished and then utilize the movement afterwords when the movement actually has a purpose.
    Also you say the in the video “I need to be pushing and doing something at all times”…. You don’t need to be doing anything, you need to be disciplined and learning to play around the enemy team and learning to make the right plays. Don’t worry about moving so fast all the time.

  • @catnip1171
    @catnip1171 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I went and watched the whole version and honestly you barley let him talk…. You’re constantly deflecting and trying to change his mind on what he’s trying to help you improve. Most of the video is him telling you to slow down and simplify your movements and you just cut him off and go off on some explanation onto why that play would’ve worked if this and this happened instead of just listening to what he said. You should’ve let him talk as much as possible with as little input as possible. The whole point of the video is him sharing his experience so let him share it. Drop the ego/insecurities of being criticized on your gameplay and this video would’ve been so much more.

      @@jiivai500 Hah, I'm not really taking a crack at Eli. Tbh I've never heard of him before. I just thought it was funny he was getting lessons from a pro from a different game (even if halo games are largely similar)

      Look up mlg halo 2 tournies. One of my favorite clips was Eli hitting two double shots (quad shot) for an overkill. Pretty sure I remember this happening on midship on pink ramp.

      Halo tactics are Halo tactics, that's why year after year the same people are pros. Eli was one of the most mechanically skilled players of all time and now he is an analyst which honestly makes his comments on gameplay even better than a regular pro considering it's his job to tell pros how to be better at what they do.

    Competitive? Lol. Game is unfair mouse versus Controller, but the worst thing is the PC cheaters/hackers, obvious cheaters in 1/10 games, sure more is cheating but some are blatant. 343 anti cheat is a joke kind of like the company is. Infinite money given to them with zero taler, diversity nonsense of a company. Gaming companies in America are ruining gaming as a whole.

    I was so excited for infinite. I played a lot when it came out. I think i needed more content available to unlock. Halo 5 had breakout, warzone and arena. It also had a ton of armour and weapon skins that could be unlocked by playing. Halo infinite was made by greedy anti-gamer cuks. I play battlebit now because $20 gets me everything. Theres always something new to unlock.

    Halo infinite needs to stop FORCING competitive, in the chaos of battle with no cover; you cant catch your breath and recharge shields, youre forced out into the open; like the level design is fucking drowning you in sidekick hitscan Bullshit
