I think casemiro could be really solid alongside ugarte in the midfield while kobbie develops. Letting him play as the 8 at times seems to work well for him since he’s got a knack for a goal for us as well
Thanks, that was an interesting assessment of which players will benefit from the arrival of Amorim as Head Coach. You are bang-on with Leny Yoro, and I'm looking forward to seeing how he plays once he has overcome his injury. It will be good to see Hojlund playing in a system that suits him and hopefully, he can regain some confidence in front of goal. You would think that Ugarte will hit the ground running with Amorim's setup, but I don't see Mainoo filling the second number 6 slot. I'm not convinced that Kobi has the legs to fill a box-to-box role I think that he might be a better fit into one of the number 10 roles with Amad. The player I see slotting in alongside Ugarte is Bruno, he is the one United player who is capable of going B-2-B for 95 minutes. The main guys that I think may struggle under Amorim are Rashford and Garnocho, I don't see either of them fitting in as number 10s or as wingbacks, but it will be interesting to see how he sets up his United team👍👍
@@StatmanDave It will be fascinating to see who slots in where. Why do all these youtubers think Rashford is a must? Also, Amorim's wingback is not an actual wingback, they are more of a winger and he played a winger in that position.
You need wingers who actually track back and defend and do overlaps. Rashford isn’t that type of player. Unless he is the target man up front, he will have no place in this formation.
@@redstone5062 totally agree. Unless Rashford actually works hard both in the press and tracking back, he will have no place in Amorim's side. Even in the double 10 position, Amad is better suited than him.
@@StatmanDavewe all are excited, yet cautious in optimism.. it could go very well, or spectacularly chaotic, especially 1st 5 games. But a change was urgently necessary
For those people calling Rashford done and to be dropped under Amorin - Why is that? There is a reason why he has produced the most G/A under the last three managers. Don't just shout inconsistency, United have not been consistent themselves for the past 11 years. When United have achieved top 4 or a trophy, Rashford has been a BIG contributor.
You pretty much proved that United is inconsistent because Rashford is inconsistent. Top 4 season's seem to only happen because rashy is having a huge season, so what does that tell you about Rashy when United dont have a good season.
Great vid, only thing I would say is that Amorim tends to use wingers in the wide roles rather than wing backs. I think he may end up getting one or two players for these roles in the long term.
Would it be completely nuts to wonder if Antony might do well as a wing-back? The most common positive thing we see him doing for United is scrapping for the ball deep and then carrying it forward. He has the tenacity to win the ball, and the acceleration to initially get away from an opponent. His top speed isn't very good, so he always gets caught again and ends up turning back and looking for a pass, he's incapable of driving to the by-line. But in this system, that might be the right thing to do, as it's often about unlocking defences with short passes inside from the wing-backs and then through balls to the striker. Could he and Fernandes be an effective partnership as right wing-back and inside right attacking midfielder? I know what the responses are likely to be, but putting aside the memes, he does have some good qualities for that position.
So for my only real concern regarding the Amorim appointment is from what I heard he prefers playing wingers or just generally more attacking players as his flying wingbacks and at the moment I find it hard to see how it will work out as garnacho and rashford are both left wingers with a dominant right food and a tendency to cut inside and shoot and neither of them can track back for defense and united has no fit fullbacks either to really fill that position and I'm also concerned with dalot's recent form as well, but im less worried about him. In conclusion while I think some players fit really well into this new formation just as it was stated in the video I'd say united probably needs 2 left wingbacks, a dire overhaul of their midfield and they also have to find a solution garnacho, rashford and bruno as I think those 3 players dont fit well neither into amorims or ten hags systems too well.
Great video Dave, personally i wouldn't start Rashford as a 10 along side Bruno as I think he's one of the, if not the most selfish players we have. I would start Bruno and Mount in behind instead
The players that performed the best for Sporting CP were Gyokeres, Inacio, Goncalves, Hjulmand & Diomande. Expected Hojlund will score more goals, Martinez & Yoro will be like Inacio & Diomande, Bruno to be like Goncalves and better while Ugarte his former player already know his gameplay & tactical
Amad is one is see a great fit for the right half space as bruno for the left half space I would also think RVN should try this instead of playing rashford there and take garnacho to the bench for the next 2 games. I would also want (though with little hope of it happening) to see amorim use a back 4 and keep rashford as the with left winger. With not ideal fullbacks to make the back 3 do wonders, tweaking a back 4 to make the shape that he achieves with a back 3 would be ideal for the current squad amidst the financial difficulties at the club but also there are players good enough to fit most of those positions amorim needs. They can implement the principles he makes use of in his back 3 system. Have rashford and dalot give the width, bruno and amad fill the half spaces, ugarte and mainoo give the midfield solidity and martinez de ligt and yoro give u the back three base. That could mimic the back 3 and every player would play to their strengths and wouldn't complicate the return positions when defending
We all know Amad is our best attacker at the moment, the stats show he is but I don’t know why nobody wants to include him in the lineup. I hope Amorim gives him a chance
I’m really focused on the young players with good potential, seeing as how Amorim developed several academy players at Sporting. Our young lads like Gore, Lacey, Ibragimov, Mantato, Amass, Obi Martin, Kone, Collyer, Scanlon, Fletcher, Thwaites etc. Would be great if a few of them become solid first teamers in the squad.
Fantastic stuff Statman, my biggest concern is our attack if were playing Wingbacks what happens to Rashy, Garna, Diallo? 2 out of these 3 are going to be on the bench because im guessing Bruno will start with Hoijlund as 2 of the 3 upfront. Theres going to be a massive imbalance soon
I can see potential for a lot of the players. But I also think there might be some odd calls. Something makes me believe Rashford could fit well in the more attacking RWB role, with Yoro's legs and Ugarte's defensive skills on that side. Not every game, but I can see it. Those #10 roles are good for him as he'll be more central and he has a shot in him, but he also has a wicked cross, lots of pace and he likes to play wide. Interesting to see. The one player I don't see fitting well is Mount. What do you think Statman?
Very good breakdown. Do you think it would be an advantage to ask the U18 and/or U21 coaches play in his preferred setup? Wouldn't it be easier for the younger plays to acclimatise to that formation and therefore be able to just 'drop in' to the 1st team.
I think he could play Nous in the 6 position in some games along side the likes of Ugarte, to give that control element we some times lack. He does tend to play wingers in the wing back positions. Thoughts?
Right now, I'm not all convinced about this set up due to the heavy reliance on the wingers decision making which has been mostly the reason why Utd haven't been scoring or creating so often like they are to easy to predict since they like going direct the only time they don't initially play this way is when they are force on there dominant foot side which ultimately forces them to be more conservative which can make that opposing team to then believe that which is good since they have that free decision to still be direct without it being obvious but the issues still lie into the decision making and that's for the general attack, Bruno who was considered one of the best Attacking Midfielders in the Prem biggest struggle is his decision making, in which it leads to risky passes, loss of possession, rushing chances or not quickly moving the ball. Its kind of funny to me that Casemiro might has well play as the CAM while Bruno should play as the CDM due to the things they are currently doing well in. Casemiro seem to play with more creativity and more composed in the final 3rd while Bruno has the legs to chase down opposing CM. Bruno turning into a Portuguese Fred and Casemiro turning into the Lingardinho.
Surprised you didn't mention Mount, he looks tailor made for any of the inside 10 role positions. Had his best spell at Chelsea under Tuchel in that role. He could also play deeper in midfield beside Ugarte or any other 4. Especially when the team gets more accustomed to the system and role.
Mount in the inside right would be preferred however Amad seems to be the new in form player there. Also Collyer under Amorim may even be better than Ugarte in the 6 role. I would suggest moving on Rashford and even Bruno may be on the cards as I can’t see either fitting into the proven formation which we know he’ll use. Very much looking forward to the next chapter. Just hope the toxic external pressures stays away to allow him to grow and develop the squad.
I'd like to see Bruno playing in a deeper position. He has the work rate off the ball, composure on the ball and I think his leadership would be a massive miss in a team that's already devoid of confidence.
So its safe to say that this appointment was very well planned out by Barrera n co bcuz if Amorim is reli allow to implement is tactics, it suits the players perfectly

Spoiler alert: it won’t work. If Amorim is coming in, he definitely needs his own crew-not a bunch of players who can’t follow a simple game plan. Plus, let’s be honest-Van Nistelrooy has his own agenda, and it probably doesn’t include babysitting this squad of underperformers. Time for him to pack his bags and let Amorim build a real team, because this lot isn’t worth saving!
Can we see ruben sticking with 4231 in this transition period of 6 months until he gets his players to change to 343 completely. He can have his 4231 morph into 3241 to get the players used to his system while making most of the current squad. Mazaroui(preferred)/ dalot as lb inverting in midfield to play as press resistant facilitator/carrier/box to box role Dalot/Yoro(preferred) as rb that tucks in to form rcb Deligt/evans as cb in middle Martinez/maguire as cb on left side Ugarte/Case as holding midfielder They will form 3-2 at the back. Garnacho(lw), rashford(10)-moves into left half space bruno (8)- shifts up in rhs allowing nasser ugarte to form pivot amad(rw), hojlund(st)
regarding Højlund your wright only problem is our wingers havent made a cross in 2 years. And Dalot dosent want to pass it to Højlund ever. they will have to go.
I'm not quite as excited as most people. Yes, five Hag needed to go. But he should have been sacked in the summer. Our new head coach has to come in, mid season, and turn things around. I wish him all the best. He'll need it
Early on I can’t see in defensive transition how this works - I imagine mainoo will be asked to push on in progression but the three + Ugarte is no different to what we have been getting out of De Ligt, Liche, Eriksen, Ugarte in ETH 4-2-3-1. If I was Amorim I am spending a week imploring the 2 pivots to stay back and potentially keep one of the WBs inverting to become a 3-3-4. Just don’t trust these players
5 ssignings ? for me , viktor gyokeres and Morten Hjulmand , alphonso davis .... i cant even think of 2 more without giving some current players a chance . so 3 for me would be perfect
The problem is Hojlund could have shown those skills in the Premier League already, and yet he hasn’t really. Which makes me think it’s maybe a little bit easier to do that in Italy, and not so simple against defenders in England. He should be giving us much more than he has been. Was that ten Hag’s fault? I certainly hope so.
Doubt the manager change will improve Man Utd in the long run. We might see a short term improvement but nothing long term. The atmosphere in the club is not conducive for a winning mentality- sad considering what Man Utd had under Sir Alex.
Am watching the game of Sporting vs City, and even before watching this video beyond 1 min, I believe Hojlund will thrive under Ruben. Gyokeres plays like Hojlund
In the past, when ETH wanted to become MU manager, everyone praised him, but after becoming MU manager, ETH was fired. Will Ruben Amorim be like ETH fate ?
he will do ok for a while then slide and fired aaand the next guy will get hired . in our dutch news they said that ten hag wanted a world class striker and not zirkzee , but ratcliffe had his way and bought him anyway . what was the problem under ten hag , was it not scoring enough ? ok .
Sell Rashford and Zirkzee for 85 million together.....get in gyokeres....The trio of gyokeres , rasmus and Chido are all spaced agewise to have enough years as each others back up and eventual replacement 26-21-16.... gives everybody 5 years as the starting ST

Time for him to pack his bags and let Amorim build a real team, because this lot isn’t worth saving!
Mazraoui one of the first names on the team sheet.
what web you used for formation
Let's hope he can bring Mount back to his TOP lvl
i cant wait to see how Højluns develops under Amorim, hopefully he gets more service than under ETH
I'm a simple man. I see a Statman vid. I like the video
❤
Trashford is a kick and run player. He can’t operate in a system. He can only play counter attack. Kick and run player
Ugarte, Martinez, Yoro, Garnacho, Hojlund
Sell Rashford in summer... It's United's last chance to make some money off him... He is not a United level player.
What about Sancho in this system, I think he would do well in this system.
What are your thoughts?
Would have been perfect. Shame about his attitude...
@StatmanDave do you think he has a chance of returning to Manchester?
@@shlokmanandhar4371no.
Absolutely not his attitude stinks
Don't Chelsea already have an option to buy at the end of the season?
Toby Collyer's workrate will be essencial for Amorim
Can we see ruben sticking with 4231 in this transition period of 6 months until he gets his players to change to 343 completely.
He can have his 4231 morph into 3241 to get the players used to his system while making most of the current squad.
Mazaroui(preferred)/ dalot as lb inverting in midfield to play as press resistant facilitator/carrier/box to box role
Dalot/Yoro(preferred) as rb that tucks in to form rcb
Deligt/evans as cb in middle
Martinez/maguire as cb on left side
Ugarte/Case as holding midfielder
They will form 3-2 at the back.
Garnacho(lw),
rashford(10)-moves into left half space
bruno (8)- shifts up in rhs allowing nasser ugarte to form pivot
amad(rw),
hojlund(st)
You forgot mount. He is used to play in this system under tuchel.
what you call Raw Material are the real finished product, man. This is what experienced dudes do that make us call them experienced.
Thank you for not taking trashfords name
Let's hope for better this time around
regarding Højlund your wright only problem is our wingers havent made a cross in 2 years.
And Dalot dosent want to pass it to Højlund ever.
they will have to go.
Ladies & Gents: We have the Michael Bisping of Football stats 🤣🤓
Just don’t trust these players
if Yoro is to be the CB that steps out he will have to play centre... in Amorims system the two outside CB's stay back.
Yoro de ligt ugarte amad zirkzee Kobe players to get rid of rashford and Bruno casemiro
Loving the mullet
Amorim will succeed at Man Utd 🤞🏾
This is the first time i am not worried about the midfield feels weird because i think ugarte and maino will do the job
Mazaraoui has been our best fullback yet shows up in nobody's potential Amorim 11. Disgusting. I'd bin Dalot in an instant.
Mazraoui has to be in the 11 IMO
😂😂 Holjund being the United Gyokeres 😂😂😂
. Hojlund
Mainoo Fernandes
Dalot Mount Ugarte Mazrouri
Martinez De ligt Yoro
maybe amass for dalot , dalot replacin mazrouri
Just flank Hojlund with two 10s and watch him cook. He wouldn't need to hold up play to much, just focus on running in behind
Don't be surprised that Rashford finds himself at the LWB sometimes
5 ssignings ? for me , viktor gyokeres and Morten Hjulmand , alphonso davis .... i cant even think of 2 more without giving some current players a chance . so 3 for me would be perfect
The problem is Hojlund could have shown those skills in the Premier League already, and yet he hasn’t really. Which makes me think it’s maybe a little bit easier to do that in Italy, and not so simple against defenders in England. He should be giving us much more than he has been. Was that ten Hag’s fault? I certainly hope so.
No service.
I think Ruben should buy eberechi eze and Alphonso Davies
I think Rashy and Bruno career is done, Surprised not to see Mount in that Pedro Gonclaves role at left mid
he will do ok for a while then slide and fired aaand the next guy will get hired . in our dutch news they said that ten hag wanted a world class striker and not zirkzee , but ratcliffe had his way and bought him anyway . what was the problem under ten hag , was it not scoring enough ? ok .
Without watching yet I bet it’s Onana, Mainoo, Hojlund, Ugarte, maybe Yoro?
Right now we think Hojlund will bloom, but this is MAN UTD... Will sign Gyokeres within the year.
So you're telling me that we're gonna drop maza for amass right ??
Under 343..i can clearly see Antony having fair amount to game time. Might be his year.
Sell Rashford and Zirkzee for 85 million together.....get in gyokeres....The trio of gyokeres , rasmus and Chido are all spaced agewise to have enough years as each others back up and eventual replacement
26-21-16.... gives everybody 5 years as the starting ST
All we need is a pattern of play, that's the only way you'll see everyone performing towards their roles in the formation, not the ETH headless style
I don't understand people who want Bruno out of the club or think he'll be sold. What are you drinking?
I hope amorim sells rashford
