Or you can play amad daillo at right wing back instead of playing mazraoui there so mazraoui can play left wing back instead of buying players at that position the only thing we need to do is sell Bruno with mount and rashford
That will generate big money, so with that money we can buy a new striker like Victor and bench Hojlund and loan our new striker we bought this summer so he can get proper game that is what man United needs right now

  • @manavsandhu584
    @manavsandhu584 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +92

Some other options for the positions James has picked:
    LWB:
Alphonso Davies - contract expiring in the summer and has already been linked to us.
Harry Amass (academy) - was rotated into the squad in pre season and occasionally on the bench this season. Technically great, especially in tight spaces and remember him overlapping well but questions over his physicality to play in a back 4 at the moment, less responsibility as a wingback.
Alvaro Fernandez - apparently doing well for Benfica so far, has played in a back 4 and back 5. Cheap buyback clause.
CB: Disagree with James here, no point in paying £50-60m on a player if we're not willing to give him playing time. Instead I'd go for the left side.
Jarrad Branthwaite - linked with him heavily already, would be expensive but probably worth it in the long term.
Godwill Kukonki (academy) - come through the ranks this year. 6'4, quick, plays either LB or LCB anyway.
    AM:
Don't have a pick from the market but Shea Lacey from the academy is by many accounts the most exciting academy player in years. Plays a similar position to Amad (10/RW hybrid role) so would have to figure that out but very talented. Jack Fletcher (Darren's son) is a shout too.
    CM:
Jayce Fitzgerald really impressing in the academy.
    CF:
Chido Obi-Martin signed and offered a 3rd choice striker role apparently. Far too good for academy football and only a matter of time before he breaks through.

To fit in with FFP rules United probably won't be able to spend more than £100m on players this summer. Chelsea signing Sancho for £25m probably gives United a bit more leeway and they probably will move on from Casemiro, Malacia and Bayindir so they could develop more breathing room, so lets say £130m.
Here are 4 Signings I think Ruben Amorim should make.
RWB: Jeremie Frimpong: £40m - Lightning quick on the Right wing, great crosser, would add something new to the United attack.
LWB: Alvaro Fernandez - £15m - Perfect modern day wing back who can attack and defend in equal measure. Great footwork.
LCB: Gonçalo Inácio - £50m - The only Sporting signing. Ideal LCB for Amorim. Martinez can split his time between LCB and defensive midfielder.

Hey, a Manchester United fan here. I believe that Ruben Amorim could give Manchester United some success but I honestly do think it will take time. One of the first things Ruben Amorim had to do as soon as he joined Manchester United was to figure out who fits his system and who does not, and who he needs to buy and who he needs to keep and sell. I'll be sharing out my suggestions today. So, obviously, it hasn't been the BEST start for Ruben Amorim at Manchester United as the results for the games he has managed ended up like this:
    - Ipswich Town 1-1 Manchester United
    - Manchester United 3-2 Bodo Glimt
    - Manchester United 4-0 Everton
    - Arsenal 2-0 Manchester United
    - Manchester United 2-3 Nottingham Forest
    - Viktoria Plzen 1-2 Manchester United
    - Manchester City 1-2 Manchester United
    - Tottenham Hotspur 4-3 Manchester United
    - Manchester United 0-3 Bournemouth
Ruben Amorim has officially managed 9 games for Manchester United so far. 6 games in the Premier League, 2 games in the Europa League and 1 game in the Carabao Cup. Out of those 9 games, Ruben Amorim's Manchester United have won 4, drawn 1 and lost 4. I will be going through every single position in Ruben Amorim's system and decide who he should keep and who he should sell.
    GOALKEEPERS:
There are currently 3 goalkeepers at Manchester United. Their first-choice keeper in Andre Onana, their second-choice keeper in Altay Bayindir and their third-choice keeper in Tom Heaton. I think Andre Onana should be a definite keep as he hasn't been really bad this season and it would be hard just to find another first-choice keeper off the bat. I think Bayindir should be a keep also. I know people consider him as a dodgy goalkeeper, especially in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals against Tottenham Hotspur. However, we need to remember that Altay only plays in less critical fixtures. I believe Tom Heaton should also be a keep as he is a useful homegrown player in the squad.
    ONANA - keep
    BAYINDIR - keep
    HEATON - keep
CENTRE-BACKS (for the 3 at the back):
Ruben Amorim has 3 centre-backs with 2 wider centre-backs and 1 which is more central. A lot of people criticise this defender but I think Lisandro Martinez should be a keep. In Amorim's system, Lisandro plays as one of the more wider centre-backs who need to be more attacking and ball-playing. We know Lisandro Martinez can be capable of that after seeing his assist to Amad Diallo in the Manchester Derby. Maybe in like a year or 2, Lisandro can be getting demoted to the bench but I don't think he should be a sell. Another defender who plays as a wider centre-back in Amorim's system is Leny Yoro, and I think he should be a keep too. Despite Manchester United currently struggling, Yoro is probably the only defender putting in at least a decent performance. Similarly to Lisandro Martinez, Leny Yoro has to be more attacking and ball-playing. Despite it only being pre-season, we saw Leny Yoro produce a great ball to one of our academy players against Rangers. I personally believe Leny Yoro could be a star under Ruben Amorim. Currently, the more central centre-back in Ruben Amorim's plan has been Matthijs de Ligt. His role is to be more defensive and to prevent attacks from the opposition and also try and drive the team forward. At the start of the season, it has been a rocky start for Matthijs de Ligt but now I can see him starting to improve, especially after Erik ten Hag's exit. I think Matthijs de Ligt should be a keep as well. I also believe that Luke Shaw and Harry Maguire should stay as back-up centre-backs. Unfortunately, I think Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans should leave the club. I don't believe we need that much squad depth for our centre-backs and for me, Luke Shaw and Harry Maguire are better options than Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans. However, I do think we should sign a centre-back. This defender has played under Ruben Amorim before, back at Sporting Lisbon, where he was the more central centre-back and was great at stopping attacks - his name is: Ousmane Diomande. I think he could be a great add to Manchester United and that would shift Matthijs de Ligt to a RCB, which I think wouldn't be a problem as he played as a RCB back when he played in Juventus.
    DE LIGT - keep
    YORO - keep
    MARTINEZ - keep
    SHAW - keep
    MAGUIRE - keep
    LINDELOF - sell
    EVANS - sell
    WING-BACKS:
Before I even get to context, I think I speak on behalf of most Manchester United fans. Diogo Dalot will not thrive if he is continuously going to be used as a LWB. Sure, he can be a future wing-back under Ruben Amorim, but he would have to be on the right side of the pitch. However, since Noussair Mazraoui is far more consistent and is in better form than Diogo Dalot at the moment, I think Dalot will be the back-up RWB as Mazraoui will be starting over him. With Diogo Dalot being converted to a RWB, the only LWB we now have is Tyrell Malacia, who I believe should be sold as well. He hasn't played professional football for 18 months and his return back at Manchester United hasn't been the best. The first player Ruben Amorim needs to sign is a LWB. There are plenty of options including: Alphonso Davies, Alejandro Grimaldo, Rayan Ait-Nouri and Maximiliano Araujo. However, I only think we need one. Araujo could be a great shout as he played under Amorim back at Sporting. However, I think this LWB needs to be signed at January and Amorim did say that he wasn't going to buy Sporting players in January. There have been rumours that Alphonso Davies could join Manchester United, so I think he will be the man. Besides, he looks like he is going to leave Bayern Munich soon enough anyway. I think Rayan Ait-Nouri could be the perfect back-up for Alphonso Davies as he is a LB that CAN play as a LWB. Also, I don't think Ruben Amorim needs Antony for any longer and I think he needs to be sold.
    MAZRAOUI - keep
    DALOT - keep
    MALACIA - sell
    ANTONY - sell
    MIDFIELD:
Ruben Amorim has 2 midfielders in his starting 11 who have two slightly different roles. One of them plays more attacking and more like an 8 while the other plays more defensive and more like a 6. The 4 players currently at Manchester United who plays in these roles are: Kobbie Mainoo, Manuel Ugarte, Christian Eriksen and Casemiro. Out of these 4 players, I would like 2 of them to go - Christian Eriksen and Casemiro. I'm sorry, but they do not have the legs to have a future at Manchester United. With them 2 gone, Kobbie Mainoo and Manuel Ugarte are the only midfielders to remain so if we're going to get rid of both Eriksen and Casemiro, we need to sign a back-up or 2. A great shout would be Morten Hjulmand. He is another player who played under Ruben Amorim back at Sporting and can play like a 6 which could be a perfect replacement for Casemiro. The other midfielder I have suggested is a bit more young but could be a back-up still for Manchester United: Ederson.
    MAINOO - keep
    UGARTE - keep
    ERIKSEN - sell
    CASEMIRO - sell
    INSIDE FORWARDS/ATTACKING MIDFIELDERS:
In Amorim's system, he has 2 inside forwards that play just behind the striker and could even assist them to score. The players who currently play at that position for Ruben Amorim are: Amad Diallo, Bruno Fernandes, Alejandro Garnacho, Marcus Rashford and Mason Mount. I do not see Amad Diallo getting sold as he has arguably been Manchester United's best player this season so far, neither do I see Bruno Fernandes or Alejandro Garnacho getting sold. I think it is already obvious that there is a high chance of Marcus Rashford leaving and if we get the big money for Mason Mount, I don't see why we shouldn't accept it. There are rumours that Ruben Amorim will sign Takefusa Kubo as a replacement for Marcus Rashford and I don't see a problem with that.
    AMAD - keep
    FERNANDES - keep
    GARNACHO - keep
    RASHFORD - sell
MOUNT - 50/50 (if we get the big money for him then accept)
    STRIKER:
Currently, there are 2 strikers at Manchester United - Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee. In Amorim's system, the striker needs to be clinical finisher and need to finish off the chances that they get. Unfortunately, Joshua Zirkzee doesn't have that in him. I believe that Rasmus Hojlund could thrive under Ruben Amorim but sometimes he can become inconsistent. I think we should demote Rasmus Hojlund to a second choice striker and to sell Joshua Zirkzee immediately. Viktor Gyokeres and Victor Osimhen are great shouts for a first-choice striker but since this man has worked under Ruben Amorim back at Sporting. I think Gyokeres would be a more realistic signing.
    HOJLUND - keep
    ZIRKZEE - sell

This may sound absurd but playing dalot at RCB could work but i mean that for tactical reassons because dalot has a lot of tactical uses , dalot is fast so he can help out when Playing fast attackers and he can move into midfield incase we need to overload that position of the field to play near the CDM

I see Nuno Mendes as a major possibility in the summer for that LWB position, his contract ends in the summer of 2026, next summer will be PSG's last chance to cash in. I would prefer Davies but still think he's going to Madrid and would certainly command higher wages. Nuno Mendes is young, fast, direct, good crosser, he's not afraid of getting in the box, can play LCB if needed (has done it in the national team). It was Amorim who picked him up from Sporting's youth ranks, he knows the 3-4-2-1 inside out. He's definitely one to look out for in the summer.
I can definitely see Diallo getting a chance, either as RWB or as the right-sided forward. Conversely, Rashford will have to improve a lot or he's going to have a really tough time.

  • @benhester4144

i generally rate James’ takes so much but there’s many wild takes here imo
    1. the starting lineup based on what is available at the club right now is very different to the way i believe amorim would look at it (luke shaw would not be his pick to be lwb even when fit, one of the inside forward/10s will 100% be an inside forward such as rashford or garnacho)
    2. you seem to be ignoring the fact that one of amorims strengths is actually coaching players not just assuming what they are, the lwb position for example will most likely be shared between amass and amad, and based on amorims track record of training wing backs i genuinely believe amad will become incredible, and that amass will also shine
    3. i dont see a centre back coming in this summer at all, i imagine Maguire will be the central option until yoro is back and de ligt will be on the right for now, if not lindelof will be on the right, and i think amorim will be able to get enough out of them to not require another, also mazroui will probably get minutes at rcb
    4. bruno’s best at sporting was in a much deeper role (where mainoo will likely play most of his minutes) but is also incredible in the half spaces on the right, it’s likely that he will be used in both of these depending on the game, but replacing him is not an option given he is one of the best in the league in two key positions

I believe Bruno, Yoro, De Ligt, Martinez, Onana and Hojlund should stay. The main concern is the wingbacks. We do not have players who are willing to run back. We need to get rid of Shaw and Rashford and invest in atleast 2 wingbacks, who can do a job on both the flanks. And then maybe a couple of centre backs to provide cover but every other position can wait. I strongly believe Harry Maguire could do a job in the middle of a back three, he could drift into the middle just like Stones at City and has a better passing range than him. We could play Licha, Harry and De Ligt as the back three. People just underestimate De Ligt's recovery pace and he could be amazing as a right sided centre back. We've got Hojlund who has the potential to be the Gyokeres for Man Utd.

For the amount of Football you watch and analyse, its surprising the choices you make. Dalot will play RM/RWB. Bruno will play in one of the CAM roles just like Goncalves at Sporting. About Singo, as much as i like him and his potential, I think it'll be more useful to spend the money on other parts of the team. I think going forward, Mazraoui will play more as a RCB than WB. He is more experienced than Singo, can carry the ball like Singo does and also a bit press resistant like Singo.
As for Palacios, he's one of my favorite players but too injury prone. I'll rather we go for Aleix Garcia.

Wing-back is an interesting one. They do push high & wide and provide an attacking threat - but Sporting dominate most games in their league. In the Premier League, we're going to have to defend for periods of games, so the wing-backs do need to be at least competent defensively.
Agree with a CB or two to replace the likes of Evans/Lindelof/Maguire.
Also agree we need a midfielder to replace Eriksen/Casemiro. Not sure if Palacios is the one though, purely due to the fact he's had a lot of injury problems in the past.
I still find it hard to believe captain Bruno, our most creative player, will be moved on. He's maybe not as mobile as Goncalves, but Goncalves isn't an athletic, quick ball carrier either. As long as Bruno has a more mobile players around him, like Garnacho/Amad/Rashford, with Højlund up front, I think he should be okay.
With Højlund & Zirkzee as ST options, possibly Rashford as well, I can't see us singing a ST soon. Especially when we have so many other positions to strengthen - CB, WB, CM. I think Zirkzee would need to be moved on, and I'm not sure that'll happen this summer. I guess it depends on his performances and game time until the end of the season.

    • @George-x3v
      @George-x3v 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

We saw how much defending Sporting did against City - imagine having Garnacho/Antony playing as a wing-back - I'm not sure that would work.
Also, Amorim didn't always have Gyökeres, so maybe he can make it work with Zirkzee instead - the tactics would just need tweaking depending on the personnel of the front 3.

CM: Palacios is a cornerstone for Leverkusen, happy there and long term contract. Would be great, but would cost a fortune and unlikely to happen. Angelo Stiller would be a nice option, but also unlikely as he wants Bayern. Joey Veerman could be a perfect signing. Excellent regista, perfect partner to Ugarte, wants to move, PSV needs to sell, only one year left. Alternatively Kristjan Asllani could be a good option. Very talented young regista, that hardly gets played at inter.
LWB: if Alphonso Davies wants to come it would be a no-brainer. One of the best young attacking LB in the world and for a bargain with his contract running out in the summer and he wants to move.
CB: Agree we need another CB, but a leftie imo. As it stands we only have one left footed and 4 right footed CBs... Olivier Boscagli is the perfect fit imo, contract out in the summer. He'd probably love to come. Jhon Lucumi would be even better, but more expensive too, though still doable/realistic.
Striker: Let's keep our money in the pocket for now. Gyokeres would cost a fortune and we need the money elsewhere. Hojlund profiles perfectly for Amorim and Chido Obi Martin is one of the most talented youngsters in the world. And what is a striker without service?
CAM/(L)W: Nacho, Rashford and Bruno don't cut it. It's a graveyard shift for our strikers.... Since we haven't used a lot of money with the others, I'd go all out on Florian Wirtz. Will probably cost (north of) 100m and unlikely he chooses mufc, but he could be our De Bruyne for 10 years to come. Alternatively Malik Tillman and Mastantuono would be amazing. I'd like to see Amad on the right sided AM too. Mount played like five minutes since we signed him....

Singo would also work very well, you had a player of his profile, Matheus reis, at Sporting, despite being worse. However, i disagree with you on maguire. Maguire has showed he can work in a back 3, and Amorim can use slower and older player in the central spot as he did with coates for like 4 years. Eze is questionable but i dont think its a terrible shout. But Marmoush for Zirkzee would make no sense. Sporting until this year allways had a target man and a more false 9 striker. Last season even started with Sporting playing both Paulinho and Gyo, so Zirkzee should have a profile that Amorim enjoys

Baleba will cost a fortune knowing Brighton and it doesn’t make sense when we have Case and Ugarte and Mainoo who has magical feet and can develop ball carrying skills [ he did carry ball a lot in Eng vs Belgium game + we have seen him do for united also]

If Mount was Brazilian he'd be a shepherd. He has barely played for the club but some how you've seen enough to say he's part of our best 11?

I like Eze and love Palacios but they're too injury prone for me, and they'll be coming into an even more physically demanding system with both of them involved in Amorim's pentagon press which is ridiculously demanding. If we already had good profiles then I wouldn't mind taking a bit of a risk on icing on the cake signings. Like City could afford to take an injury prone Doku because they didn't need him to work right away.

I don't see Amorim using United's players like he did with the sporting players, I think at best we use youth to mold some of the roles he likes to have

You never addressed Mount being there James. Amorim surely would want more of a creator in there like Fernandes.

I really don’t get why everyone is assuming that Amorim will want to play the exact same system at United than he did at Sporting. And to the point of dropping all United’s best players because they don’t “fit” this new rigid system? I think you’re off the mark here. We’ll see I suppose!

Man United about to drop another 600m on the manager's wish list just to fire him in 2 years 😂
Your suggestions would be pretty good actually, would at least put them up in to top 6-8 contention.

What I would do if I was Amorim, I would get rid of a lot of older players, bigger wages off & look more of the 23-26 who should be by now a well talented player.
    (Sell) ➡️ (Buy)
Rashford, Sancho, Antony ➡️ Goncalves & Baena
    Fernandes, Casemiro, Eriksen ➡️ Ederson
    Shaw, Malacia ➡️ Nouri
Maguire, Lindelof, Evans ➡️ Any 3 young centre backs tbh
