The ending of this movie absolutely baffled me hahaha.. which movie should we watch next? Ps. hope you're enjoying these movie vids, absolutely love filming them x
right at the end, Janet says to someone that she's Lebanese meaning the whole film is because Regina didn't know the difference betweenLebanese and lesbian 😂😂
as a fan of the musical version of this, regina’s big solo is “world burn” so in turn, you are correct. regina george is a woman who wants to watch the world burn!
Almost everything is social suicide at school, and the norms keep changing. It used to feel like school ate up my personality, and slowly, it came back in the summer holidays. Parents complain that their children start at a new school and their children develop a new personality. You are forced to leave childhood behind before you are ready. I still wanted to climb trees at 12 and go to girl guides at 14 but nobody my age wanted to do that so I conformed.
@nilachekov6881 There's a musical version of Heathers??? How did I never hear about this? Is it as bad as I am imagining it to be? Heathers was one of my favorite movies back in the day, I went to school with so many girls named Heather. I'm glad my mom gave me a much more unique name, to this day I've never met another Phaedra. Lol
LOVING the movie commentary vids lately. can’t believe you’ve never seen mean girls before!!! so iconic. also Lindsay Lohan actually WAS a teenager when this came out. She was about 16 lol
The bars in the movie are supposed to be from Sweden so she can’t read the label. Also they say that you bloat first and then suddenly drop all the weight. So there is in movie logic as to why she keeps eating them
The bus plot is actually a reference to the term "to throw someone under the bus," so it's basically a physical representation of the effect Cady's plotting and scheming had on Regina throughout the film. (Well that's my interpretation anyway.)
LINDSAY LOHAN WAS 18 so not too far off from 16. But she also was a child star and hanging out with celebs and friends much older than her and getting caught up in things she shouldn’t have been due to her mental health issues over her childhood trauma. So she actually was a teenager when filming this movie. But because she was treated as a mid 20’s something young adult her entire life she looks and carries herself much older.
Considering this movie is based on a real book about real teen girl interactions, no this movie didn't make girls think things are bad ab themselves, they already felt them
Funny that you say, "some women just wanna watch the world burn" at 27:27 because in the Broadway musical and musical movie version of Mean Girls, they have Regina sing a song called World Burn where she literally says, "I wanna watch the world burn" lol
The irony of him talking about how easy her name is to pronounce whilst so confidently pronouncing it wrong, at least they are actually getting the letters right 😂
It's very perceptive of you to notice that the teacher character is the most relatable and layered, because the actress-Tina Fey-wrote the screenplay, so that would make sense.
“Regina is one of those women who just wanna watch the world burn” and like her best power song is world burn in the musical and the line is literally “I wanna watch the world burn” iconic
16:35 Anytime my secondary school wanted to do 'talent shows' they had to beg people to sign up - like i was a theatre kid and even we didnt touch those things 😂
I always love seeing people's reactions to watching mean girls for the first time lol. The teacher was the best character, with all the best lines, because she wrote the movie 😂. Your reaction was brilliant. You should definitely watch crossroads next, just for 💩 & giggles
Tina Fey, the math teacher, actually wrote the movie 😂 So there's a reason she's one of the best characters. And the actress that's actually the oldest is Regina George - she was 28. Cady's actress WAS actually 17, Karen was 19, Janis and Gretchen were both 22.
“I’m from Michigan” still makes me laugh 😭😂 My brother had a teacher who did this. She was introducing an “exchange student” and he just looked up and said “I’m from down the street…”
3:52 "why can no one pronounce katy in this film" when talking about how they all mispronounce the main character's name... when in fact cam himself is also mispronouncing it because she's called "cady" (kay-dee) and she even spelled it out in the movie lol
21:38 Actually I think it is kind of happening somewhat, not just about having a small butt specifically.. Being "skinny" seems to be an emerging "trend" again. Just my opinion but I think it has to do with the recent trend of kpop or east asian beauty standards (this includes pale skin and their makeup styles, lik look up how ariana grande looks now vs before), and people have also started becoming against body positivity due to its perceived effects on obesity. You can also look up how some celebrities have been reducing their butt or breast implants. Crazy right?
28:39 When the girl said the n word in another language, I’m pretty sure that was deliberately mistranslated for the joke. I don’t think she actually said it
Cady isn't on the same level, she was highly manipulated because she was desperate. She had never been to a school before, she wanted to fit in, and Janice used her. I'm not saying she's innocent, but her intentions were not nearly as nefarious as Janice's or Regina's.
My elementary school did duck and those scented pencils. My daughter school still does the scented pencils. In high school though we did do roses too :)
im loving the movie reaction videos. first saltburn, now this. i literally watched mean girls for the first time last night and then you made a video about it, same thing happened the night i watched saltburn 💀 also cady must be literally insane, like she definitely saw or heard that bus coming, and if she didn't then how did none of the hundered girls that were in the background notice?? such an iconic film, and those stupid scenes add to that.
Also Lindsay Lohan deserves an apology from society especially the American media. She was a young star dealing with mental health and addiction issues who was a child star from a young age. And people treated her as a punchline and a running joke. We should have had her back not made her a joke to point and laugh at.
"just read the label" so like did you miss the part where thee explicitly said the entire thing was in Swedish and therefore Regina couldn't read it when she tried??? and as far as Regina knew they weren't common/well known in the US???
Also just based on half of your comments you seem to not understand the point of a comedy/parody? And kept saying the director of the movie needed to pay for X or Y or Z (about jokes) but like, the writer was the one that wrote the script????
2:01 The joke is she thought the other girl was the teacher, not that she thought other students knew who she was. Still weird but not a main character moment
Mean girls is literally iconic. The new one has one of my all time favourite celebrity crushes at the moment (Chris briney). But in all honesty this film is just 🫶
23:40 I mean Janice has no place to talk She used Janice fir some high-school revenge. Her friendship was based on Cady's usefulness and then got mad when she actually got into it Cady was definitely a bitch towards the second half of the movie but Janice defo took advantage of her innocence in the first half
This is triggering the fact he doesn't know "The teacher" is the iconic Tina Fey who wrote the entire movie and made most of the creative decisions which influenced a generation of gays and girls. Still love Came but you really need to have a gay millennial beside you to understand the nuances of this movie lol
14:58 in my school on Valentine’s you could either send someone roses or chocolates but idk how common it is everywhere else. I went to an private international school
Regina is a narcissistic character. Like what Janis said to Cady, she thinks that everybody is inlove with her when actually everybody hates her. She didn't think that Cady or anyone of them would betray her because she thinks they love her. That is why she trusted everything that Cady do. I also believe that Regina is jealous of Cady tho and that is why whatever Cady wants, Regina likes too. Maybe that is also why Regina just didn't question anything

Who's going to tell Cam that Lindsay Lohan was 17 when she filmed this and is closer to the age of her character than most teen dramas nowadays? 😂
She was the only one that was an actually teenager on set. Rachel McAdams was 30, which is cool, if you can play young then go for it.
I know I even had to double check because I was certain she was a teenager when she was in the movie 😂
Lindsay Lohan always had an adult face
@@elliel3700Rachel was not 30 😂 she was the oldest of the 4 main girls but not 30, she was 26

He'll probably still blame white men. He'd take the blame before he would let anyone of colour or a woman be held accountable 😂
What 😂
Cam getting mad at people saying Cady’s name wrong while calling her ‘Katie’ was peek humour. 😂
Especially because proper early on she deadass spells out her name - 'C-A-D-Y' 🤣

Cam accidently referring to the mean girls' musical "world burn" is HILARIOUS to me 😂😂
