From our 4 days first time use.
The battery display reads 80% all the time when not moving, but when it draws power it does drop, and can see it on the remote too and it can drop from 80% to 20% or lower and warning comes after.
Also tested the sonar, which is good for finding depths for spots but nothing else. The sonar also have a very high power drawn, so I did not activate it to save power when I had the GPS spots saved.
We used the back hopper to move the line in. The line and hook can easily stuck there on multiple points of the hopper door. The trick was to turn the boat left side and open hopper after, but it was not easy to see in the night because it turns off the light when arrived at the spot. I recommend to put reflective stickers on the side with different colors on left and right to see the orientation better in the distance at night.
The GPS positioning were precise, but it not always goes in a straight line to the destination, more like in a curved way.
The middle hopper does act as a rudder on the way back.
Battery life were good, we used it very frequently on 4 fishing rods, every few hours. It lasted from dusk to dawn and had spare battery which charged in time.
We used it at around 60 to 120 meters without issues on this mine lake.
I recommend the base version for short ranges where you can still see it or if you can place buoys or remember spots well. GPS is nice and recommended, but the pro version sonar is unnecessary in my opinion, I just bought it because I got a good pre-order discount and it had the MK4 hull which can be disassembled if needed.
I think it worth the buy. Got my personal record fish. A 17 Kg Grass carp.

Love my actor. I've never been a bait boat user but using this on my small water syndicate to avoid making disturbance when casting and spombing. I generally use pigeon conditioner, boilies and pellets and it's been spot on. For the money you can't beat it.

Excellent buddy had my boat for just a year and agree with all your comments except the range. Never sent the boat even 250 metres so can't comment on that aspect. My biggest gripe is the on off switch and the fact of having to keep getting the cap off. I have just noticed on boatmans website a newer version has a switch but hey ho.
Tight lines and well done for the honest review.

After watching your review, searched online and bought a secondhand one, but I’ve never been in the water. The guy had upgraded it to the bigger battery and his wife secretly bought him one so he sold it. I paid £150 for it but I don’t know which model it is and I’m gonna be using it very soon. Good review Jed, for £180 even with the minor faults you can't complain. My middle hopper stuck a few times on our last fishing trip, yes frustrating but I have had the same problem with £800 plus bait boat. Only added a weed guard to my original boat. I see on face book lots are upgrading but personally if you're spending money to upgrade you might as well by a better boat in the first place.

Well funnily enough I thought this...
Last time I was out doing 5 days fishing when it came to day 5 and sent the boat out...the hopper wouldn't open so when I got it back in the hopper worked....
I then thought maybe the remote needs charging....After I charged it the hopper worked..

That's a possibility but mine was fully charged and the pin was jammed inside. Put it on it's side and added a few drops of light oil and then pressed it with a screwdriver and it freed up. I take the oil with me now just in case it needs a bit of bank-side maintenance. Great boat for the money.

    • @JediCarper

      Good shout mate

    • @andyhumphries
      @andyhumphries ปีที่แล้ว +1

I thought that I had cured it but the pin kept sticking and was getting annoying having to force it every time. The pin was freed up initially and would return if I pressed it manually but then would stick when using the button. I did notice that you can buy the operating system off the Baitman website but before doing that, I took the plunge and got out the (small!) screwdrivers. My boat was just out of warranty, which is usually the way. Turn it upside down and with a marker pen, highlight the larger screws. Slit the sealing tape. Undo all the screws, the one's under the hopper door are the most difficult but will "drop out" once righted so make sure they are on a flat surface. The lid lifts off very easily and reveals the pin release mechanism. Once it was stuck, I added a few drops of 3 in 1 oil on the shaft near the spring and it worked perfectly. Replace the screws (don't over tighten) and it's ready to go. Far simpler job than I expected.
