@@Subdivision21 This is no joking matter and I'm taking these kinds of accusations and even hints at them very seriously.
I am not taking responsibility for your possible injuries. You alone are responsible for your actions, especially since I'm not watching you practice and don't personally know your issues or what you do and don't do when you throw. I can only give a rough outline of the form I consider good, and since it's done through videos, I cannot vouch that it works for you and your body, your style of throwing, your shoes, your tee pads, or the potholes in the field you may end up tripping in as you practice.
Sorry for the strict reply, but I have to make it clear for you and everyone out there looking for opportunities to get victimized and blame others for their stupid actions leading to injuries.

I think I finally found the drill that will help with my issue of getting the disc "stuck" behind me and not having my feet offset. Didn't notice how bad it was until I filmed myself from behind. It seems so counterintuitive, but after trying it out, I feel myself actually bracing more correctly and my arm whipping through faster with less effort. Was recently trying to actively turn my hips and "break down rhe door with my elbow" and all that stuff which completely messes up my timing. Your videos make way more sense.

It actually feels easier for me to aim with the run up angled towards 1 or 2 o clock but I lose power (of course). Going back to normal throwing I worried about problems with early release but if anything I aimed better than normal with maintained power. Doc!! Got something to run by you. Been really implementing your teachings and getting far away from “slingshot back leg” throwing. Your car crash analogy is great, but personally I was still struggling with getting the weight into the brace while moving slowly. Instead, I exaggerated the movement by thinking of my right foot as launching my body (car) into the wall, which is created my the right foot landing and bracing. So, using my right foot to launch back into itself, essentially eliminating the left cross step from thought, and putting little to no weight on it all. Almost as if im keeping the weight solely in the right leg. I guess it’s like a modified cro-hop? But why im writing this is because after doing that, combined with your teachings, im getting mids 350+ with relative ease and finally getting above the 450 mark max distance with drivers. Have you tried this, and is there some downside I should be concerned about?

    • @dgspindoctor

    • @dgspindoctor

No, I do not "let go" of the disc. It rips out. In the drill, the aim is more out of the body than across the body, so the disc will leave the hand earlier naturally. This is a corrective exercise to eliminate the late release, so we exaggerate. To drill is to exaggerate.

Lots of disc golf, get better videos, have been popping up on my suggestion lists. My question to all of them are, WHO are you and why should I listen to you? Hopefully you will answer. I do find what you have posted interesting.

That is the question I keep asking myself too, and the answer is yet to come clearly enough.

@@dgspindoctor At this point I have watched most of your videos and searched you out to get an idea of your disc golf background and I have come to the decision, what you say and show makes sense and works. That's good enough for me.
The problem I see with any content creator that is teaching on a subject is the need to keep posting week after week even after the creator has covered all the topic well. I don't have an answer for that.
I'll have to go see if your new elbow tuck video is new information now. lol 😀

I had so much respect for you before this video. Literally Bradley Walker is one of the least respected "form gurus"
Sidewinder doesn't like him she his methods, neither does loopghost. When I found his videos, any form guy was like no he's dead wrong and his methods are injury prone.
To top that off, he's an ass. If you go to the spin and throw page and question any part of it he kicks you from the group. Have to be careful who you associate with, lest your be judged the same.

I said pretty much explicitely that I disagree with him, but that because of him I now teach the way I do.
