- High Rank Anjanath Hunt with the Insect Glaive! Not too tricky if you know his patterns. This hunt was fun and I feel like I played it pretty well... meant to capture it but THAT happened.
The armor I'm using is Low Rank Paolumu complete set!
10:30 that was really sick
8:05 *applause*
That 3 way at the end was beautiful
I know im late but goddamn that gameplay was soooo aesthetically pleasing to watch. You hunt like a true professional
Its painfull to see he left behind the tail and all those shiny rathalos parts that sparkle on the ground
As an relatively new insect glaive main.. .this was very educational.
3:40 One of a glaive main's most hated/frustrating moments beginning dps and extracts run out 😢😆
This is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen 🤯
Coming from Rise IG player, I really like how this looks like a hunt.
Amazing skill level, wow! well done, really enjoyed watching that!
Haha, 6:38 - DENIED
That was an amazing play. Kudos
Just saying to anyone who isn't aware of this, insect glaive is meta against Xeno at endgame. Reason being is that xenos attack pattern is mostly ground based and aoe attacks, glaive let's u vault above and easily mount, good way to get xenos parts
Be an OG and make a vid on how to get gud W/Insect Glaive??
Loved the ending where you just sling shot at him and dies funny af ngl
I'm currently working on an Insect Glaive tank build (as unbeleivable as it sounds) I wanna be at the front doing the damage, but i need to be able to take a hit otherwise i'm screwed. Done a pretty good job so far with my armor and focusing on attacking at the right moment. Now getting it by the Ajananth three times only takes about half my bar. Still a work and progress.
What’s your build now
@@Shiki_Kit Arreks games put out a health stealing vampire build a bit back and i altered it with the insect glaive. I haven't played in awhile, but i ended up mainkng that. I dont remember all the details but they were pretty much identical to the vampire build with very minor tweaking
@@bananafingurs34 okay thankyou
insect glaive is all about the feeling
How did you manage to get no damage of that beast at all! Awesome skills with the insect glaive as well, really sick. I spend 2 days defeating the Anjanath. I tried so many times haha

-bad day by Daniel Powter-
How did you get your blade's sharpness to that?
This was lit thanks for sharing!
This was spectacular. I only have the Tobi Kadashi insect glaive rn.
the vid is from high rank you prob already beat the game but yeah
@@xtailow you're on point, MR ~170 and full Fatalis armor and weapons. Now I'm helping people and farming for rare decorations.
And now im in HR farming to beat nergigante so have fun in mhwi
you didn't have to do that mosswine dirty
one thing that i still have problems with is the recalling of the glaive. How do you shoot it without aiming and call it back without sheathing.
how do you get 3 buff at the same times mate ?
went from longsword main on xbox to insect glave main on pc pretty fun to say the least
Hey I read somewhere that sluggerb skull only works when yourv weapons sharpness is green. Was thinking this be great for the glaive. Could you confirm because im not noticing anything.
Awesome skills. I'm a new player, doing insect glaive solo too. It's taking me 40+ minutes to attack the Barroth but I'm failing everytime. Wondering how I can increase my damage early on in the game? I feel like I'm doing something wrong.
Be sure to grab the Red extract from Barroth's head. Never fight a monster without the red buff, it increases your damage by a lot, and changes all your moves too. For Barroth, you wanna try to cut his tail as soon as possible, so position yourself behind or under him and make use of his openings when he's shaking off mud. Always try to understand where the monster weak spots are, if you're playing with numbers and they turn orange, that means you're hitting the right place! Try to mount the monster at least once per hunt, and always go for the tail when they fall. The normal combo when you have an opening to hit a lot is Triangle->Triangle->Circle->Repeat. Hope that helped!
Thank you very much for taking the time to respond!! I'll use your advice, I really appreciate it and I'm subscribing so hard to you.
Sometimes changing weapons does the trick. I'm new to Monster Hunter as well, so going in I had no clue what weapon to use. I started with Great Sword and struggled. I switched weapons, found a new play style that felt more comfortable for me, and now I'm having a blast! Give it a shot!
Use the kinsect to harvest
watch their attacks, they're easy to read just take your time and take it down. Don't forget to sharpen, I do it probably too often but once it dips down your attacks will get deflected. Don't forget about S.O.S. as well, I had to use them for the rathos and diablos hunt.
The first one I hunted was killed by my kinsect lol
Hi how do you make your calico to occasionally put thunderbug cage?
It's random, really, but other than that you can make them do it by the command in the item wheel. After that it goes on cooldown and you have to wait to use it again
Very similar to the way I play, GG sir.
Hi dude good clip. What are these big bars when u hit sometimes??? Crits?
RikiOho Yup, those are crits and the damage numbers also change a bit when you get a crit
Is this video sped up at all? As an ig main I can’t help but feel as though your attacks are incredibly fast
Unless the PS4 does something weird with the video speed, it shouldn't be sped up at all
What insect glaive type are you using
The Insect Glaive used in this video is the Ya-Ku Wrath I and the Kinsect is the Windchopper III
Is it tzitzi Yaku or Kula yaku
Kulu-Ya-Ku Tree
Great skill you have!!! Im HR 10 rockin tge king beetle set and insect glaive. (Trying to be shino from naruto haha)
This weapon seem good, but are you forced to jump around this much to be effective?
If so, I better stick to my horn
No, generaly you actually lose out on damage if you jump around too much, but it looks cool and helps dodge some attacks. It's also useful while playing with other people for easy mounts but solo players rarely, if ever, jump
Do you prefer speed in your kinsect or the dust effect it give?
Crazy Davey I went for the fastest kinsect with the dust effect I wanted, so I guess both? Decide on the effect you want then get the fastest one, speed is the most important stat
Woah thanks for the tip.
I want to buy this game but i have some doubts. Does it only work with xbox live gold? Can we play it with a free account?
Need xbox live gold to play online
@@Carlos-jp2eh yes but if i don't have one, can i still play the game solo?(which is my preference by the way)
@@LuisEduardo-xm3tc yeah u can still play solo which is offline play
@@Carlos-jp2eh oh thank god. I was worried i throwed my money away spending on an online only game. Thanks a lot buddy. Really, thanks.
what í that weapon?
How did you get a jagras to fight with you
random territory battles...happens all the time with all diff types
What a beating...
loev how you killed him with a rock lol I like when i sent my insect to buff and get a huge kill lol
im really confused =/ i reached HR 11 and i die in 1 hit ...whats the best armor set for IG ...i couldnt find the answer in any form or video :( ...
My advice if you're starting in High Rank, find a monster you're comfortable with killing and get its armor set and upgrade it a bit. Also, always eat before hunts, it helps a ton! There really isn't a best armor set for IG at the start, but the first really good set for IG is the Odogaron HR one, I think you have to be HR 13 to get it though
oh thanks !!! explains why i cant find odogaron in HR ... cuz i tried making bone a for now ...till i get to farm Odogaron ...what do u think ? cuz i think everyone arounds me makes more dmg than i even when im fully stacked with buffs
Nasser Alh-Hadrami After you get the buffs, start by marking the monster with R2 (also works if you hold L2 then shoot with R2). Your bug will continue to attack that spot and create clouds for you or other people to explode. This is a big part of the Insect Glaive playstyle in this game. The damage won't be as high as the likes of Charge Blade, but the utility and mobility make up for it! As for the armor, just try to get to HR13 and then join other people hunting Odogaron, it should make it easier
thanks for ur support mate !! :D

#huntergoals lol can't wait to get into high rank
hey cool that's the kinsect I've got
When do you decide to do air attacks, and just attack on the ground?
I do air attacks to get the first mount off, since it's the easiest to get. Maybe try for a second if the fight is long enough. Air also helps you catch up to monsters that move around a lot. Other than that, you want to stay on the ground most of the time, for maximum DPS
Thanks man! Should really consider making a IG guide. All the guides out there just teach you the same shit you can learn in the training ground.
I want to know how to actually fight. When to attack on ground vs air. The best ways to use kinsect, not just how to use it. How to play solo vs in a group. Etc
Oh, and what the hell you should do when mounted. And if there are any tricks to mount.
I really don't think I'm qualified to make a guide, but I can definitely give you some pointers!
You wanna get all 3 buffs (Red, White, Orange) before you start attacking. If you can't get all 3, make sure to at least get Red and one other. Worst case scenario, just get Red, that one you need pretty much 24/7.
In multiplayer, you can use air attacks more freely and other people will appreciate the mounts; use air attacks to chase a monster or reposition yourself to another part of it (Tail, head, etc). Careful, though, air attacks leave you pretty vulnerable in the air so if a monster is about to attack he's going to knock you down and do a lot of damage, especially in high rank. So I recommend only using them once you see an opening.
You wanna focus on a monster's weak part. For a lot of them, that's the head or the tail. Shoot your kinsect with L2+R2 on the part you're going to attack and he'll help you damage it with the dust explosions. In multiplayer, if there's a hammer or great sword hitting the head, you want to attack something else, like the tail or legs.
For mounting, spam Triangle and when the monster is trying to break free, move your left analog up or down to do a moving mount attack. With IG, you don't ever need to brace if you do this analog strat
So I normally use L2+T. Is L2+R2 superior?
Also when doing that, my character puts away their weapon a lot of the time, which is horrendously annoying. Is there something specific I'm not getting?
Is your character putting away their weapon automatically? There's an option to disable auto sheathe so maybe try that...
As for the kinsect stuff, it's different: L2+T sends out the kinsect and L2+O brings it back, and you get the buff if they hit the monster. If you just use L2+T, the kinsect will hit once then stay still in place, not doing anything else.
L2+R2 marks the target, so the kinsect will continuously attack the marked place until its stamina runs out (the little bar below the buffs). Every time it hits the monster it creates dust clouds that you or teammates can attack and make them explode (these vary by kinsect type, they can be heal clouds, poison clouds, etc).
So basically, L2+T/L2+O is correct to get all 3 buffs, but after that you should mark the monster with L2+R2 and attack that zone, until the buffs run out, then you repeat the process. By the way, if you're close to the monster you can also mark it with a simple R2 slap. You can start your combos with R2 to mark them, then do the usual stuff!
"Blastnut"
Hah
The environment is absolutely beautiful, the character creation is robust enough, the Palico things and pets, canteen cutscenes...etc. add a lot of charm to the game, but the element that should matter the most, the fighting itself, quickly devolves into a grind-fest that doesn't even have the desired results of giving you parts for crafting gear that will make you feel stronger. Crafting is a big part of this game and it tries to give the player the impression that it matters a lot...when it simply doesn't. It makes no difference how one "prepares" for a hunt. It ends up going the same way as it did the first dozen times.
All the grinding and improvements to your weapons mean nothing. Especially, in the end, where, apparently the game just brings out high-level versions of the same monster you have already killed dozens if not hundreds of times, that is even more of a damage sponge.
It doesn't matter what weapon you have, although the glaive appears to be, BY FAR, the single best weapon out of all of them, since it looks like it's the only weapon you can vault away from or onto monster to...uh....ineffectually stab away at them, for 1 point at a time. Because, even that neat thing seems pointless. You stab it a few times, hold on if it tries shaking you off. You finally do a spin attack that makes it fall, then hack away at its weakspots (ooooh orange numbers all the way - doesn't matter one bit). It gets up, runs away. You run after it. Repeat. The parts finally start breaking, it limps away, again...rinse and repeat, 2-3 times, before you actually kill it. Taking out weakspots, tails, claws...etc. certainly takes away some of their attack capabilities, but they don't actually make the fight any faster.
Thankfully, this video perfectly showed that the game doesn't make you (feel) stronger and stronger, at all. Elemental resistance, elemental weapons, this gadget, that gadget, traps, barrels, explosion, vine-trap, rockfall...doesn't matter what you bring, how you immobilize the monster, it always takes the same amount of time to kill them. There should already be a noticeable difference, after you start upgrading your weapon, but there simply isn't. It doesn't matter what buffs you get from your kinsect, either. Doesn't matter how fast your attacks are...the fight remains the same, takes just as much time.
Also, you'll often get stuck in an attack animation and if not, then you just stand and stagger around, seeing starts, for long, looong seconds, even though you can plainly see the little Kulu Yaku is about to jump on you with a big rock in its hands. You can see it coming from a mile away, but can do nothing, since you still haven't recovered from...what exactly?
And how many times are they gonna do the dumb stunning scream thing. Oh, the beast has such a mighty roar it paralyzes the fearless hunter, just when they're about to jump at them or drink a damn potion. But, no. Let's stun them for no reason. Because thankfully they AI is actually too dumb to even take advantage of the stuns it does on the player. An Anjanath can either drag out the fight, until you eventually bring it down, after Benny Hill-ing it around the map...or it just suddenly remembers it's leg-day and leaps from the other end of the screen, right on you, instantly killing you, with them leg muscles. Completely at random.
What armour set are those
Whats the best early game glaive to use?
Anything you can make that increases the sharpness/damage is good. I personally used the Kulu Ya-Ku one
How do you get all those three kinsect extracts so quickly?
方笑晨 If you know the right parts that give the different buffs, all you have to do is L2+Triangle to send the kinsect and L2+Circle to bring it back. If the monster moves around a lot it can be hard but with practice it gets easier!
Thank you. I am a beginner and found that its quite hard to get extract from the monster's head, and somehow the kinsect's mana gives out quickly. Do you know the difference between L2+Triangle and simply press R2 to use Kinsect?
方笑晨 Yeah the head can be really hard to get sometimes, but it gives red extract which is the best one...
L2+Triangle just sends the kinsect out and it stays in place. R2 marks the monster in the place you hit, making the kinsect continually attack that location until it runs out of stamina, and it creates dust clouds every time it hits; if you or teammates hit the dust, they explode and do the various effects (sleep, paralysis, poison, heal, these vary by kinsect type). So basically focus on getting the extracts at the start with L2+Triangle and then when you're ready to do damage, mark the monster with R2 once and keep smacking it!
Thank you so much! Helped me a lot about this weapon!
方笑晨 what also is helping him is that he has a high level kinsect that has ridiculous speed. His kinsect is almost instantaneous, whereas us low-level players have slower kinsects. Make sure you nurture your kinsects when you can!
What a run!
What’s the point of using all 3 buffs, I understand the attack buff
Red+White- Both previous buffs plus Increased Critical chance when attacking monster for added damage potential
Red+Orange- Both previous buffs plus i believe Stun resilience
White+Orange- Both Previous buffs plus low level earbud ability(I read this one and saw a few vids mention it in my research, but I have yet to see it in practice myself)
Red+Orange+White- ALL previous buffs plus additional boost and new attacks. This is the Insect Glaive equivalent to Dual Blades demon mode. In this form your Hunter is at their highest damage potential. Don't let this lull you into believing you're untouchable, but with proper skill and practice you will be close to it. getting this mode resets your buff timer as well but the overall affect lasts for roughly 60 seconds.
each buff buffs the other one, white makes reds atack stronger and so does orange.. always try and get every buff
The kulu ya ku one
Can you completely solo play the game? I don’t want to drop 8€ for ps+ after dropping 70€ for Mh:w
Ibo yes you can solo the whole game, enemies get stronger the more people join you
Ibo You can completely solo it, yes! The quests are the same for offline or online, the only difference is when someone joins your quest, the difficulty is adjusted so the monsters gain more HP. I even felt like soloing was easier than online at times, your palico is really good in this game!
Blayzleg Thank you for the information bro ❤️❤️❤️
I don't they gain more HP, they are just more aggressive
I bought the game knowing it couldnt be played offline entirely. I was surprised that you can actually solo the whole game. Your pacino helps alot :D
Bruhhhhh I love the insect glaive I upgrade that shi to the trident glaive
Which kinsect are you using?
Windchopper III in the video, Pseudocath II now!
i really wish i could play this game... dunno why but my amd fx 8350 processor runs it like i'm playing on a potato
The fx series was a flop and this game is very badly optimized. I recently bought the game myself and even my 2080 is on the edge, my CPU has little room to breathe but not too much.. I read that there are performance boosting mods so in case you still are interested to play the game and didn't try mods, I'd recommend to give them a go.
