I had a 2001 Honda Shadow Spirt 1100. I loved it. Reliable and dependable. Honda hit a home run with these bikes.

Just back into riding after 20 plus years away! Have purchased a 2007 Honda Shadow 750 c4. Out of all the bikes I’ve owned over my riding years, this Shadow is the best I have owned. As as you say, does everything it does well👍👍 Keep up the great vids, Wahoo👍👍

A replacement bike for the shadow 1100 spirit might be a new rebel 1100 dct . They have a good reputation so for. I have a shadow 750 spirit 03 ,and a 05 goldwing . They are both great bikes and have their good and bad points , but together they are a blast.

I really enjoy your videos! I have an '04 Shadow Spirit VT1100. I'm at 24,000 miles so mine is just broken in. I agree with you that the Shadow is at home on 50-60 mph 2 lane backroads. I live in Western Washington State and close to Mt. Rainier so I'm very close to amazing scenery. I'll be looking for your 75,000 mile video! Stay safe!

60k you're just breaking that bike in, i totally agree with you on the shadow 1100 being the Toyota corolla of motorcycles, never had any issues with mine at 35k just replaced the diaphragms in both carbs because they had slight tears in them and also put a stage 1 dynojet kit with some slip ons to give her some more juice 👍 don't ever get rid of that shadow 1100 it's an excellent bike

I agree. I wish they had better brakes and a bigger gas thank. pretty good for the price though.

I own a 85 vt1100 and I love the thing, plenty of power, reliability, and comfort at an affordable price. What more can you ask for?

  • @jeffcoombs1672

I have watched so many of your videos and didn't know you had this bike. Bought one today and was super excited to see you had a review, and not only that but a personal bike. Really appreciate your content.

had 2 vt1100's that I put over 100,000 miles on each of them. Alternator stators needed replacement at about the mileage you are at on both bikes . Also the hose coming off the radiator overflow tank is routed very close to the rear cylinder head . the hose starts leaking when it bakes and eventually cracks. I always carry a spare radiator fan switch.

I got 75000 out of my last 05 shadow...recently bought another just like it same year and all that..with only 6000 miles on it..but it's black .it's in new shape. I took very good care of the last one but it wasn't in the best shape when purchased.this one now I'm looking forward to getting

I bought a Honda Shadow Aero, VT 750 in the early Fall of 1022. It had 19,000 miles on it. I paid $2,500 for it. The first thing I did was flush the front brakes with new fluid and changed the oil & filter. I flushed and changed the final drive oil as well. I felt the need to remove the carburetor and thoroughly clean it. It runs like new. I haven't had a lot of time to ride. So, I think I have about 700 miles in it now. I love it. 💘 I added saddle bags and a sissy bar/package rack. I need a windscreen. It's hard for me to hold on at 100 MPH. 😁 Ride on, Brother.

'Love my 2000 Shadow Spirit VT1100! Only 16K mi. on it. Looks & rides like new. There's nothing like Honda quality & reliability. You're right - this bike doesn't excel in any particular way, except it does excel over all as a most comfortable, simple, capable cruiser. It's bike #20 for me. My last bike was a VTX 1300 - also a great Honda. The 1100 Shadow is lighter (around 550#), more nimble, more fun to ride. Also has the most comfortable stock seat - no need to replace it. I removed the backrest & added a small windscreen & 1 small side bag. Also drilled out the rear baffles, which gives it a pleasant burble & a bit better breathing without being too loud. No need for aftermarket slip-ons. I also had a 2017 T120 Tri. Bonneville - a Gorgeous & quick scoot, but a bit techy for me - believe it or not, the Shadow, I feel, has more 'soul'. I love British bikes - 'had 3 Bonnies & a BSA T-Bolt. Would like a nice 2007-2014 T100 or an earlier, pristine 900cc Thunderbird. Or maybe a 2020

I absolutely loved my 01 shadow 1100. I now have a gsxr 750 but I’d love to get another shadow too! I regret getting rid of it!! Great video man!

  • @johnnydelap4490

I like your content. I just picked up a 2000 1100 Spirit with 9000 miles. I have added some after market items to make her my own. I have a backfire I wish wasn't there, I was told by the dealer it is the pipes, I think it's the Carbs.

Nice looking bike you got there bud and love how u take such good care of it. I was new to motorcycles when i traded an old beater fourwheeler for my bike from an older man who just wanted a fourwheeler. I got a 1997 Honda shadow 1100 american classic edition. Bike had 34,000 miles when i got it and was warned thats high mileage for a bike. I got it home changed the plugs and oil and gear oil and learned to ride on that bike and i fell in love with it and wont get rid of it for anything. Bike now has 44,184 miles on it and still runs just like brand new. My brother has a harley davidson 883 sportster and i blow him away and have no problem keeping up with other bigger crusier bikes. Bike has been very comfterble easy to ride and super reliable. Im 6'5 250 lbs and it pulls me like nothing. I fell in love with the honda shadow and have no plans on getting rid of mine. Thinking about buying a newer model one sometime soon. I just like how the odometer on the newer are placed on the tank and bigger and easier to see mines currently between the bars above the headlight. Keep riding my man and enjoy that reliable gem you have.
