I'm 44 and grew up with the original, but I gotta admit this was VERY good remake. Finally broke down and watched it with my daughter a few years ago. Its possible I've watched it 7 or 8 times on my own since 😀😀😀
Totally agree. There is something about movies like these where the musical numbers just bring back memories and this old man just can't help but tear up smiling.

Unlike the original the lead can actually dance and you have a dance movie WITH blacks and latinos.
