So I wonder if, maybe, there could have been something planned for it in the DS1 covenant that is led by a literal dragon. After all, we know for a fact that they couldn't really finish Izalith in time, and that's a main area, so I wouldn't be surprised if an area that brings so little and is as far from the main path as Ash Lake also had some things that couldn't get implemented in time

The emergency dive is the strongest tool in any Hunter's kit. I won't blame the man for having his Hunter instincts kick in, this is MH old gens levels of bullshit.

In retrospect, there really wasn't any proper dragon boss before that point. It's not exactly _immediately_ intuitive to go towards the big fire-breathing lizard. Like, a lot of Kalameets breath attacks are avoided by getting past, under, or behind him before the fire reaches ya - excluding the flying fire attacks.
Damn he actually went through the depths and blightown again. Respect. Personally after my first playthrough I just took the shortcut from new londo ruins because blightown and depths are traumatising
Gotta give a huge props to Miyazaki, people are playing this game not just within one playthrough, but mostly play it through more than 3 times. I discovered the DLC myself when I was on NG+1, and I got tired of the game only after NG+5. This is a solid game right here.
Seeing you use the great club fills me with a joy normally reserved for things like my last playthrough of Ds3 where I beat Midir and Gael before the Abyss watchers.
Gael can be cheesed with poison and Midir is only tough because he has a ridiculous amount of health and constantly moves around so you have a lot more time to make a mistake then other bosses.
@@MrGhosta5 Yeah but midir is easy if you chase him down. If you force him into close combat He wont do his range attacks. Just stay under his head and you have an easyer time. Also you get the poise break which gives you a crit on his head for like 5k damage. In my Lucatiel cosplay run I almost got him on first try. I loved that build. Light armor and one of the best GS in the game. Destroyed him in my second try.
I found him not that hard actually, 100 shield and Black Knight Ultra and I got him on my second try. Would have got him on the first but I got greedy with my final hit. Manus on the other hand...
In every fromsoft game i find at least one boss that i have fun fighting and dying against. DS3 it was Gael/Both Gundyrs, DS1 it was Manus/Artorias/Sanctuary Guardian, BB it was Orphan/Gherman.
After beating DLC and running into adult Sif guarding Artorias's grave, and Sif recognizes you as the one who saved them, and then fights you anyway... SADDER THAN ARTAX DYING IN THE SWAMP

Tbh, i never died to kalameet. Not even once. Untiill i discovered the obsidian gs. I died 17 times trying to cut that stupid tale!! Kalameet is ez but that is tough
I've cut that thing off by accident several times by shooting him in the face with Crystal Soul Spear. On the ground, walking towards me as I back pedal.
I find it mesmerising to see how people struggled with Kalameet, it all comes down to builds. If you are fast rolling this fight becomes soooo much easier. Without it and having to tank Kalameet hits it becomes so much more difficult.
Pretty much every boss is easier with fast rolling. Also a lot of bosses have trouble hitting you if you're standing under them. Most of Sifs attacks will swing over your head if you stand under his front legs. 4kings will also hit you with the week hit box on their arm/shaft rather then the strong hitbox on the halberd blade.
Artorias took me seven attempts, even though I had him completely figured out by my second run. He REALLY punished the greedy, and I only pulled it off because I got a lucky stagger when he only needed one more blow. That was a fantastic boss, though.
You can feel the pure hate for the black dragon fight. We all have that one or handful of bosses we despise with an unhealthy passion. You can feel the hate of this beast. Now it will make a fine pair of boots for the journey ahead.
DS2, the Executioner's Chariot. For whatever reason that is easily my worst boss fight. I can roll through Smelter Demon and his Blue variant all day with ease. Hell, I even managed to get Alonne's secret death animation. But the Chariot just gives me fits despite the fact that it's an easy boss.
Took me a few days but I guess I blocked it from the trauma. FUCK THE KHAN MAYKR in doom eternal. Really enjoyed myself up to that point, died 20 times said fuck it Bloodborne is easier than this boss! Then went and beat kos instead.
I didn't know anything during my first playthrough of dark souls. I had bad stat allotments, half upgraded weapons, and a bullheaded resolve to keep going for bragging rights with my friends. The end result was me doing fifty - one hundred damage a swing and fighting artorius for two weeks, and boy did he piss me off. Subsequent playthroughs and better game knowledge have made me enjoy his fight quite a lot, but first playthrough artorius was my bane.
Fuck me shoulda figured but didn't mean this to contain solely DS bosses. But to contribute, Sister friede was a major bitch-n-ahalf. On the flip side I managed to beat maria in BB first try to the chagrin of my Lil bro watching me and giving pointers.

If there’s anything I’ve learned from the Kalameet fight, it’s that if this happens (9:55), and Kalameet is about to slam down his tail, you roll right to avoid it. It works 9/10 times and gives you to chance to do damage to his tail.
@@MegaGeewee If you run an upgraded tower shield Kalameet basically does 0 damage to you. He goes from one of hardest hitting enemies in the game to a flailing toddler.
Dude's just persevering through Kalameet with fat roll and pancake beater. That deserves mad respect. The first time I played Dark Souls, I cheesed the entire game with Havel's Set and shield with Demon's Greataxe and when I play through DLC, I was like, "Nah I can't do this shit with this kind of playstyle. I have to be able to roll and dodge" and changed my set into a lighter one and try to beat the game with roll.
As a man who's recently completed DSR, the most infuriating thing I had to experience was fighting Manus in NG++ and trying to cut off Kalameet's tail. Those two shitters are the bane of my existence

Just a reminder that FromSoft cut so many good pieces of dialogue from the Artorias boss that, in my opinion, would've elevated it to something greater with the emotional stuff.
Fun fact: lore-wise we only ever fight 4 bosses with intact, full-powered souls. Manus, Kalameet, Gwyndolin, and the Bed of Chaos. (Although BoC is kinda debatable)
and Kalameet gets shot by a giant arrow on his wing if you fight him the regular way, so unless you didn't ask help from the giant and killed him while he was flying, you don't fight his 100% form

Not going to lie; the first time i fought him was an awesome trip. i had Power within (used when i got infront of him) and wailed onto him with my Zweihander. after a while when he was charging up for that AoE blast, I was still swinging away, when i realized something was probobly going to happen. ... Then i staggered him, and had the biggest "beginners luck" i've ever had in the game, and finished him off. I really love Artorias' story alot and how your character helps protect his legacy.
If you pump stam and carry weight enough he actually is, just time your dodges and play aggressive. Then again I played DS3 before DS1 so my ptsd from Gael helped a lot.

Manus is up there as one of the hardest bosses in the franchise simply because it feels like fighting a DS3 boss in DS2. His wombo combo is soul crushing. Let's not even discuss Kalameet.

Artorias is the only boss I never raged on, or even felt the slightest negative feeling toward, even with quite the number of deaths.
Artorias' only problem is that his hitboxes are bs sometimes
In darksouls 3 the only boss I raged on was the lothric fight since I was running a sorcerer build I could kill Lorian easy but not lothric.

Not going to lie; the first time i fought him was an awesome trip. i had Power within (used when i got infront of him) and wailed onto him with my Zweihander. after a while when he was charging up for that AoE blast, I was still swinging away, when i realized something was probobly going to happen. ... Then i staggered him, and had the biggest "beginners luck" i've ever had in the game, and finished him off. I really love Artorias' story alot and how your character helps protect his legacy.

If you pump stam and carry weight enough he actually is, just time your dodges and play aggressive. Then again I played DS3 before DS1 so my ptsd from Gael helped a lot.

@@MrGhosta5 I mean I used poison on him too but I just buffed the drang hammers with it and used the weapon art between dodges. It was awesome, it was like we were dancing.

Manus is up there as one of the hardest bosses in the franchise simply because it feels like fighting a DS3 boss in DS2. His wombo combo is soul crushing.

I have literally never lost a fight to him his damage is actually garbage and if you use this cool thing called the B button you dodge his attacks
