Hey man, I love your work! I’m a keyboard player with plenty of synths and keyboards. Lately, I’ve been getting into making beats and am looking for something I can also use for live performances with my synths. I’ve got both the OXI One and Digitakt, and I’m considering adding a sampler, but I’m not sure if I really need it since I’m still pretty new to making music without a DAW. After watching some videos, I’m torn between the AKAI One and Roland SP-404 MKII. Which one would you recommend to help me find the right flow in the studio, especially for making hip-hop beats and some electronic music? I really want to incorporate my synths and also have something that would work well for live performances.
I assume this is the beta 3 (or whatever version)? I just got it and just got the hang of the 2.xx version. Honestly, every time I watch your workflow, I learn something new. Makes so much sense to chop up a one-shot beat and finger tap it.

@jonmakesbeats it all depends on the dynamics you're looking for... low input gain would add noise and artifacts after compression (stating the obvious, sorry) but then it could match the lofi genre you're into...?

My 2 track is actually an 8 track! It does have a sound though. Cassettes can do the trick. try maximizing the tape speed to get a better quality.
