    Well done. My home is volcano area, been thinking about getting a electric motorcycle to Cruse the island on solar energy and get off the gas train... Puna is my birth place and I haven't gone down to the lava flow of 2018 because of Kalapana and losing it in the 80's. Grew up with alot of sad stories of the old days down there... Your video has inspired me.🌺🥰🙏 Mahalo nui loa

    Your other big island video was so good. I couldn't leave a comment, however.
    I am born, raised and still live here in Hilo... everything you stated, is true!
    Lol
    This video is a nice one also. Puna coastline is gorgeous on a sunny day.

      Glad you liked them. Yeah I turned off the comments, I'm pretty sure some folks would get triggered by something I pointed out.

    Wonderful! I live in Kona and I don't see this part of the island as often as I would like. I love the music you have used. Can you post a link to this music?

    Hi Nick, Loved this ride as well as your "Living in Hawaii" video. We plan to try living there someday when the time is right. Looks like not too many options for our budget. It was very informative and helpful. We're in Illinois near Rockford (18 degrees 🥶⛄). My wife and I got married on Oahu three years ago, December 2019, and we stayed in Hilo (Ken's is our favorite in the world for breakfast!) for a while. We drove down that way and it is so beautiful! Thanks for sharing!

      Yeah I named the road in the description and if you look at the street signs you'll see exactly where this is. I didn't put the name in the title because I don't want to give it too much exposure; we like to keep the road traffic here light.

    Hello, thank you for sharing this video. Can one live off of catching rainwater on the east side of the island as a primary source? Mahalo.

    • @NHX610
      @NHX610  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question, the answer is yes! Literally tens of thousands of people here collect free rainwater from their roofs that go into large 10,000 gallon tanks next to their houses. Because the ground here is pretty much all just solid (but porous) lava rock, it's not cost effective for most neighborhoods or subdivisions to drill and trench for water. But Hilo is the wettest city in the united states, so having a full tank of water is the norm. One torrential rainstorm here can easily refill a half-empty tank in just a few hours, with clean, soft Hawaiian rain.
