I think it looks great, the new headlight suits the Super Adventure more than it suits the Superduke IMO. Sadly, it's not coming to North America until 2026, but I'll definitely be testing one when they arrive. Edit: The non-optional AMT is kinda sad, but maybe by 2026 they'll make it optional...
KTM sales are down by over over 25% compared to last year, and their parent company is in a spot of financial trouble. We all know why folks don't want to buy, because they don't trust the company to build a reliable product and stand by it when it invariably goes wrong. Only available with an auto box? O dear.
I have a 2024 sas and due to hand problems I would really like the AMT but I don't like the vertical TFT as I use my Satnav but I could live with that. I prefer the old headlight but I guess that's just personal preference but I really don't like the new switchgear. I guess to be fair I will have a test Ride and watch a few more videos before I make a final decision.
I was a 2022, 1290s owner. A new bike. 5 months of ownership, 5 months of that was in a KTM workshop. The only miles I put on this bike was from various dealerships to home and visa versa. KTM. Appalling customer service they abandon you. Appalling after service. If you have a problem it may take weeks if not months for KTM to even look at the bike due to a lack of skilled techs. Once you find a workshop I found the Techs was not up to the job and could not fix the serious issues I had. After 5 months I returned the bike under the rejected goods legislation. Looks Pretty but avoid KTM.
I was hoping for the motor from the 1390 super duke r and a 17 inch front wheel. And an automated gearbox should be a option but not standard. Well done KTM giving me something i don't bloody want and making me pay extra with a tech pack for the things I do want !
I think I know the answer coming but going to ask anyhoo. I’m selling my RR and want an all round b road blasting replacement… should I buy an MT10 (seen a 23 non SP that fits the bill) and would I likely regret not buying the SP? It’s black too which seems to suit the bike. Asking a silly Q here but thought I’d throw it out there as I’m going back and forwards like a never ending tennis point…..
Ridden in isolation the normal MT10 is still just as fun - the SP's suspension just gives you noticeably plusher damping, and obviously the ability to stiffen/soften on the fly. The brakes do feel a bit sharper on the SP as well with braided lines, but if you only rode the normal MT10 you'd think it's as good as it needs to be, if that makes sense?!
@@timrodierides thanks, that’s helpful. I can add braided lines and upgrade the pads if necessary (something to tinker with) and I suspect I’d only v rarely want to switch suspension modes so unlikely to be a game changer. Interestingly insurance quotes seem to jump a lot from non sp to sp versions which is non sensical…
I hope I'm wrong, but the AMT doesn't seem to be optionnal on that one. I wish it had been, and I also wish the SAS had come with a 17 front (I have had the two previous iterations of the 1290 SAS: brilliant bikes, esp. the '21). I'm waiting for the SDGT now.
Built-in sat-nav will never be as fully featured as a separate unit in my eyes. I'd be amazed if the KTM's system would be able to do all the things the extensive Garmin/TomTom ecosystems can do (route planning on a PC, pinging routes from phone to sat-nav etc). I'd like to be wrong… but...
@@timrodierides this is true but I have a love/hate relationship with my Garmin Zumo XT2, it's way more complicated than it needs to be. Have to wait and see how the new dash features work. And I bought a new 24 1290 SAS last week so that's nice....🤦♂️
It still has a 19 inch front and now the auto so it a definite NO and I doubt the brakes will be any better, come on KTM it’s a road bike give it proper wheel sizes and road brakes not leftovers from the off road versions.
I’d like either a German Short Haired Pointer or a Weimaraner dog please, assume KTM are still offering a free dog on those long lonely walks to and from the dealer….which turns out will be even longer now that P&H my nearest dealer has ceased dealing with KTM. Think I’ll stick with my Triumph 1200 GTPro which has been trouble free…….but if KTM solved their crappy customer service and reliability issues I’d have one in a heartbeat.
+ 1 for everything you said Andy. Bought my new MY1290 SAS in late 2021. My local KTM dealer went bust 12 months later leaving me with 2 main dealers both 40+ miles away in opposite directions. Had non stop issues like: switch gear disintegrating in my hand, massive coolant leak, indicator filling up with water after one rain shower, clutch began to fail after 4k miles light road mile usage (zero off-road miles) and once broke down at the roadside. The dealers can vary massively in their customer service, some really try hard but KTM head office customer service sucks. They seem reluctant at times to satisfy dealers warranty claims even when it's an absolute slam dunk obvious warranty issue. I had to argue with them to fix a couple of mine. Decided to sell in April 2023 (a time when dealers want used stock for the coming summer) with 6 months warranty left still. Phoned the 2 main dealers for a price to hand back the keys and wouldn't even offer one!! Not interested they said lmao. I was not impressed. Love the bikes they make but will not be owning another until the company changes it's ways, especially after sales service.
@@nsweeney3970 Think you’ve hit the nail right on the head there mate, highlighting pretty much everything that’s wrong with KTM’s especially the attitude from their customer service HQ (a contradiction in terms)…….. Sad state of affairs to be honest, they simply can’t afford to keep peeing off customers paying out top money for something riddled with faults, changing their ways would be a very good idea 👍.
Slight error on my part - this bike is only available with the automated manual gearbox…
...... You are joking right...?

No. We don't know that's why. In fact it has nothing to do with that. No even in the top 10 reasons. What ever your good at, stick to that.

That will be the SMT 1390. Probably releasing next year I guess, if they don't go bankrupt XD

It’s coming back in fashion I swear
Sorry but my local dealer has closed too. 😢
Sat nav is built-in to the dash now, no need to mount one above the screen.

How are such in your face dash screens with complex menus allowed when mobile phones are banned? They are equally distracting.
Hang on, I've just done a video about this on Motorpoint's channel 😂
Might just be the paint job, but I really like the look of it (... for a KTM).

KTM .. hey boss no ones buying our bikes , yeeeah just paint it orange and call it Super ..
it’s what we always do and it’s worked for years.
Are KTM going to do the software removal thing? You know, try it for 3 months and then pay extra?
I'm not sure - it's been quiet on that front for a while. I presume they are though…
Wouldn't touch a KTM at the moment, with the problems.
Non evo being announced Thursday
So I hear!
What is an evo and a not evo?
@stocks7765 as far as I can tell the brakes are slightly different and the evos automatic, but there maybe be more than that I'm sure there is
Have they got any dealers to sell me one??
Not near me they haven't!
