I watched Bobby conduct the NC Symphony years ago. The encore was the William Tell overture. He lifted his baton and then said, “put down your instruments.” Which the orchestra did and than they sang their parts Bobby McFerrin style. It was great.
this guy could have chosen any line of music and dedicate to it but instead, he went 100% genius ... his movement in music may be the most legendary of all.
Wow what a performance.. The cellist has such admiration for Bobby F ...He is such terrific exponent of any genre he touches.. I love watching him perform,, I think jazz was his first love...but his musical talent overflows everywhere he is... Harvey Perkoff
In my car in my home driveway in a rural farm community in Tehama County, CA and picked up Jefferson Public Radio program signa from Oregonl. It was clear as a bell, and this musical genius Bobby McFerrin, was performing the Vavaldi Concerto for two cellos. You cannot imagine how grateful I was. To have access to a station that plays classical music was a giant hug! Public radio out of Sacramento only gives an hour a day to classical music. Thank you!
This soloist cellist is absolutely fantastic! What an incredible sound accuracy! I dream to such 1rst cellists in my Bordeaux Philharmonic. And her unthinkable musicality is really to cry.
It was the intention, the invention, and creativity of Vivaldi to replace vocalists with instruments, violins, cellos, etc (in contrast to opera). That's why we have this concerto is for two cellos, and many other pieces like Vivaldi's concerto of two violins, two violins and cello. Now, this marvels piece has (partly) been done the other way around.
Vivaldi's slow movements are always so beautiful. I played a couple of Vivaldi Cello concerti while in the school orchestra years ago. Bobby has such immense voice control.
That was an interesting experiment. Vivaldi himself would've probably lay back and said: Why not? I should try doing that myself once in a while... Actually, it's what every instrumentalist should try to do with the pieces they study, if possible...
This video started playing while I looking away with earphones on and then I thought to myself..."That cello sounds kinda weird" very well done wow maestros 🖤 Antonio Lucio would love!
I admire Bobby a lot... and he does fine here. But in this case I would rather hear another cello) Also it is quite audible that the cellist and orchestra try to follow Bobby as if he leads but in this case he does not really. Or it would be nice and fun to have it arranged all for voices
Shut up. The purpose of this rendition obviously wasn’t to be better than the original or to become the new standard. It’s just a very nice and experimental project, executed beautifully
I’m learning to play the 1st cello on this piece. The lady is amazing, and Bobby McFerrin is very good, but I didn’t like the performance. I would have rather had the 2 cellos. Just like Vivaldi wrote it for. This is a variation, which is fine but never would be my favorite.
I could be wrong, but.......
...i think Bobby McFerrin is probably the coolest person on this planet. 😎
Well certainly keeping one's baton in one's dreadlocks is the coolest thing for a conductor/musician to do.
You're not wrong.

WHAT?!! Why did I JUST find out about this?! Thank you, Lord for this man!!
AGREED! Look at his baton behind his ear.....so hip!!
The cellist plays so expressively but her face is even more expressive; beautiful.

That's what happens with an explosion of talent: it goes everywhere.

Yes but sadly she gets no credit in this video. I’m an amateur cellist and can only dream of being able to play so well.
@@helenhill9482 It's Veronika Wilhelm, in the video description :)
What kind of MAD MAD MAD talent is this? Never imagined a human transforming into an instrument... MIND BLOWN.
I was there, a magical night.
Wow! That's great!
Where was that concert?
@@nazardimitrov6724 in Germany City Leipzig

What a gifted and spiritual human being! Incredible cellist and orchestra! Brilliant performance! Amazing!

This exists.
Just let that sink in for a while
Would love to hear this with two voices!
it is going to be hard to find the other voice.
That's gonna be hard, cause there is no second Bobby McFerrin
Bobby McFerrin is so so so great
from 4.50 how come these musical people like this woman get to play with their souls... so much emotion that hits you right in the heart..
Eu amo a sensibilidade e a competência desse maestro.
Bobby McFerrin carries the distinction of being the world's only human cello.
Wow just in tears after the 2nd movement ...
Thrilling! Brilliant! Shares new possibilities of making music. A marriage of traditional and contemporary in such a beautiful sound.
It's so much fun to see musicians enjoying themselves.
Wow! It isnt a second cello part and he performs it perfectly !..........

Amazingly done! Bobby McFerrin outdid himself. The band was amazing! ❤❤❤

Always wanted to hear singers do Ravel’s Bolero a cappella.
Musical genius
WOW
That’s impressive.
Did they just reawaken the evocativeness I used to feel in classical?
heart touches spirit touches Heart touching Spirit ~ eternal presence resonating ~ grace indeed
Bewitching!
In 4'27 and 5'13" reminds me the hymm of the Fluminense Football Club! :O
BRAVO MATE VERY WELL DONE
Clever (talented) bloke. Watch him with the MozArt quartet!
Wonderful cellist, and great articulations by Bobby McFerrin - the vocal part needs to be a little louder please!
I’m probably late but this is so cool.
What is interesting is that McFerrin starts to play the mic as if it were an instrument and the cellist starts to sing along with him!
Vivaldi definitely meant to write this for Bobby McFerrin and cello. The only problem was he wasn't born yet.
❤❤❤ I ❤❤❤ ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Yeah! It would be a great experience if he could play it together with Luka and Stjepan, who also play 2 cellos! Or they were, at least.
Nice
Bobby McFerrin
det han gør det gør jeg vær morgen ??????????????????????????????????????????
Is Bobby McFerrin even human?
Kekoapono ... Seems so.. Each of us has got so much more potential!
good example of how far the human race can rich
one day he will turn into light and disappear
👏👏👏

Is everyone just gonna ignore the tall white kid chewing gum lookin' like Stifler in the audience at 1:05?
Does he make electric guitar noises too? That would be cool.
Bobby McFerrin makes EVERY noise
This is amazing but if he was actually at the original tempo that would be insane
de de de do du de de du de do
Bobby can’t do double stops????? That is an outrage!!!
Das Stück mit dem Hund: Bobby McFerrin singt Vivaldi :)
Without director!
markowa33 Bobby is the director 💀
