I remember when I watched this live. She was late for about 1 and a half hours but no one seemed impatient as far as I can remember. When she arrived and got off the car, the mic was handed over to her and started singing heartbreaker while walking towards the stage. It was an open space that's why she perspired a lot. When she finished singing the last song (that we thought was the last one), no one from the audience was prepared to leave (maybe because filipinos are used to watching filipino concerts with performed songs around 10 or 15 or more lol😂). You could hear from the crowd ''more, more'. After a few minutes the lights on stage were turned on again and she started singing without you and the rest. We enjoyed it and it's an experience that i will never forget.

What many people never got was that Asia is a far bigger market for Mariah than Europe ever was. In Asia Mariah has had 4 albums selling over 5 million copies, in Europe, she only got 1. She's also had her biggest audiences in Asia in terms of tours. 20k used to be on the low end for her. In Europe she mostly played arenas of 10k-15k during her peak. If she were to return to Manila, she could sell out a stadium there right now.
Sh actually came back in 2016/17 I think for Sweet Sweet Fantasy tour and she sold out the newest stadium they had... the fact that they did this concert outdoors coz the stadiums back then werent big enough for the demand. ❤
The Charmbracelet era REALLY was THAT GURLLLLL Tre. Not only was MC’s mic 🎤 like ON on but she had a confidence vocally live that I’ll never ever forget. I’ll never forget her GAGGING the GURLLLLLIES by starting of the concert not on the STAGE but in the depths of the crowd with her 10 piece strong security detail. She is and always will be the ULTIMATE DIVA-minus the late great WH, who I’m happy to say I’ve witnessed live ALSO!!!! Charmbracelet Tour is indeed one of her best tours ever! She had fun and her vocals got better as the dates went by. As far as i'm concerned, this exact show was never dubbed. But if you want to watch her showcase her vocals, i would recommend you to watch Daydream Tour at Rotterdam. The footage and the audio quality may not be that good, but you'll still get the vision of the tour and her vocals, compared to the dubbed Daydream Tour at Tokyo Dome that you reacted to earlier. TAOM Tour is a great watch, too. It's like if Charmbracelet Tour was held on a bigger stage. But the DVD version is dubbed, and her voice wasn't in its best quality during that time.

Ok…getting a beverage and gonna sit on the sofa and give this reaction all my focus x i went to the London show of this tour and her vocals were soooooo much better than here as she was more warmed up n voice more flexible, if you can even image. The concept of the show was very much a Circus/ performance.. plus seeing her live, she is a stunning 5’9 (6 ft + in heels). I always assumed she was short, but when she sang hero n came down to audience sh was standing taller than me (am 5’11” ) BTW VERY IMPORTANT : this show is missing the following performances from the tour which I suggest you find great recordings of as they are spectacular: Clown, Subtle Invitation and Bringing on the Heartbreak

Mariah Carey Around the world has a performance of fantasy that lap dance choreo they used in the Homecoming special. The full dance and choreography are so fun and edgy for her at the time. The entire concert is great, but if you want to see a super fun dance moment that’s my favorite😊

Great reaction, Tre. I can tell that you really enjoyed this and it was to watch you react to it. Her Charmbracelet Tour was quite the undertaking. Some people give this era crap because she had used more prerecorded vocals than in previous tours. Let us not forget this is after she had to take a break from music and get some rest, set some boundaries, and preserve her voice for 69 shows. I'm not mad one bit. Things I love about this era are that Mariah was on steroids with regards to playing Barbie. She played with TONS of hairstyles and outfits. This is ONLY the beginning. This is good quality for a full set from this tour. I (and several others) have reached out to Mariah to see if she has any plans to release better footage. There are some other clips to catch from this tour and I'm sure the other lambs will point them out. As for Manila, the humidity was great for her voice. Most of her registers were quite intact, though I will comment that her whistle register was a bit weaker at this particular show. Mariah has a very unique inverse relationship with her health and her whistle register. (This is not absolute but an observation I've made watching many of her videos.) When she is a little ill her whistle register seems to be a bit stronger. When she is in very good health she often has incredible chest voice and can belt indefinitely. It seems as though this power sometimes can take away from how powerful she can whistle. Of course there are exceptions when everything is intact. Key notes from this tour are that "Vision Of Love" and "Make It Happen" were definitely 2 of the main highlighted songs throughout the tour, typically toward the end of the setlist and fully live (if not, then mostly live) at all dates. "Band Intro" was something she did throughout the tour and I LIVE FOR IT. Also, at other dates where her whistle register is stronger you can hear her compete with the piano. Definitely take a listen to that in your free time - there should be a compilation video for it. I know I'm writing a lot but you took the time to react to a whole show so I'm taking the time to give you a whole response....LOL. By the way, totally agree with you that Mariah is extra AF for 2 minute outfit changes. I love it! See you at the next video. Have a wonderful weekend!
