I just replaced my old yellows with the Hercules impact and cordless angle grinder and I must say I'm very impressed. I'm even happier that I got both tools, two 5ah, a 2.5 ah, a 2.0ah and a fast charger for $250.

Hi Tom! Angle grinders are so versatile that I believe they belong up there with the top ten tools in the shop. I love your new grinder, that rat tail design is just so comfortable when using for long periods of time and the added length adds additional leverage. Awesome buy! Great review!

Very helpful. I'm going to buy a new one and this helps me see the different things to look for.

If you going to get at harbor freight keep your eyes open for coupons they run them on sale pretty often.

Harbor freight has always had awesome deals on grinders. I personally have the Bauer with trigger switch, and love it. Helps make my welds not look like crap🤣.
Didn’t know Hercules sold one with different guards for bigger discs sizes which is a cool selling point.

Those Bauer’s get good reviews as well. Those flux core welds are tough to make look pretty from what I have been reading.

I'm a Bauer guy myself. Gotta love Harbor Freight . I use a lot of their tools in my Vids. Great SK haul on the last!

Great information, I need to get a new one so looks like I'll be going to Harbor Freight. Can't see buying an expensive one if you don't use it a lot. Thanks Tom!

I bought the 13 amp one on sale for 69
If I had to go back and do it over I would have gotten the 11 and the 15 since the 13 amp is a little big for some stuff and then a little small for the bigger stuff I do.
    Cool wheel storage

I bought a drill master grinder for 10 dollars probably 15 years ago and it's still going strong. DIY environment and taken to work every once in a while. I do wish I had a bigger amp one!

Good review Tom. Yeah they are just about as good as any I would imagine. I do prefer the trigger type. I may go ahead and pull the trigger on one of those 13amp Hercules. Take care 😃👍🏼

I think having several of these is a good idea. Most used ones are usually totally used up and beaten to death, like you said.

Indeed! Really is an item you need to buy new.

Buy the 10 dollar one from Harbor freight. It's great! Or step up to the 20 dollar grinder. Especially if you want the corded one.

I just bought the 7 amp Hercules with the 20% coupon. Have you done a lot of wheel cutting? It has a type 27 wheel guard like most grinder’s now a days. And I notice a lot of manufacturers in their manuals nowadays tell you not to do any cutting unless you use a type 1 wheel guard. But, I see a lot of cutting still done with the common type 27 guard. Makes you wonder why some tell you this while others like the Hercules and Bauer allow you to cut with their grinders? This is my first angle grinder, so that’s why I ask.

I have cut a decent amount of brick with it and some steel from time to time. I haven’t had any issues.

I have 2 paddle switch models, 1 side switch model and 1 rat tail trigger model that's still in the box. The 2 paddle switch models are Milwaukee's and were used professionally and definitely have stood the test of time.

      @TomGunnTools  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Milwaukee grinders are definitely a step above even many of the other big names based on the reviews I was reading.

      Trigger way better than paddle
