    Have 4 Holosun products.. will be buying more in the future.
    One of them had a flickering issue on a single brightness setting, I called customer care, he emailed me a form to fill out, I sent it back and got my return label FREE the same day.
    Dude didnt ask me a bunch of questions, didnt ask if I was the original owner or to provide proof, heck he didnt even ask my name. Bottom line is their support is amazing and they stand by their products. They earned a customer for life from me!

    Holosun is LEGIT! Ive been running the 403, 502 and 510 exclusively for about 2yrs now. I have NEVER... I REPEAT... NEVER had an issue with any Holopoint sight. Always holds zero, even the first one i used still has the original battery. They're all auto on and auto shut off and they use aimpoint pattern mount. Absolutely recommended. Unless your being deployed to Afghanistan tomorrow, buy 2 holosuns instead of that aimpoint... Just being honest.

    • @BuddhaDog93
      @BuddhaDog93 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Would you put your life on the 510 for a SHTF/Apocalypse scenario?
      I've heard talk about the open and exposed emitter versus say the 503cu or an eotech for that matter.
      Really torn between the 510c for the better field of view, and sharper sight, the 503cu for similar features but closed system or just pulling the trigger (ha) on an EOtech Exps-3

    • @boss350z5
      @boss350z5 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BuddhaDog93 i would yes; but in a true shtf scenario I'd rather have an enclosed design like the 503c(65moa ring, with a 1moa dot) 403c(2moa dot only), 503gu(acss reticle) or a Sig Romeo 4(basically a 503 with a little more rugged design and higher cost). The 503gu, coupled with a 3 x magnifier adds the benefit of calibrated holds out to 300yds using 55gr 5.56 or .223; but without the magnifier the holds are basically useless. The 510 is great; but an open design is always riskier than a closed Aimpoint t1 design, which is what all of the ones I mentioned above basically are clones of...

    The solar panel is just like the fiber optic/tritium system that Trijicon made big with their Acog scopes where you could use ambient lighting to create a reticle, but it sucked on their RMR. The hs507c is almost half the price, and it works great 🙌🏽

    As long as I've been shooting shotguns I honestly have to say that I never gave serious thought to knowing what pattering my different shotguns have with dbl aught buck which is what I shoot most of the time. I will take note of this and kinda keep some notes on this now. If for nothing else ,just to see the difference in my different shotguns. Cool idea ,that I just never thought of checking and noting this is something I am curious to check out now. Thanks for bringing that up. Seems very important now that I'm thinking about it. Cool channel by the way. Think I'm going to get a couple of the holosuns. Haven't heard anything bad about them. Plus half the price of the aim point comp 4.

  • @duvaldrummer
    @duvaldrummer 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Time will tell, but I've had my 503CU for a few months and have really enjoyed it. I've always been a buy once cry once kind of guy and eventually want to get an aimpoint T2, but this has been more than capable so far. I actually stepped into my local shop to buy an MRO as I saw it as a good compromise between price and quality, but I was really disappointed. Both the glass and dot clarity were terrible imo. I was shocked to see how nice the glass was with the Holoson, on par with an Aimpoint T1 I owned. I will say that I turned the auto brightness from the solar cell off. In low light conditions when using a white light there's not enough light coming back to the unit to adjust it properly. What ends up happening is the reticle is still set at a brightness suited for low light, but your eye is getting flooded with white light bouncing back from the target and in turn can hardly see the reticle.

    • @OreGear
      @OreGear  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for sharing your experience with them! I figure if I were to pick one up, I'd turn off the auto adjust as well for just the reasons you stated.

      Go to my channel, and check out my videos why put one through its paces. I think that it broke up over 3 or 4 videos. The short story is I zeroed it, then stuck it on my Beretta 1301 shot several rounds through it, put it back on the AR, mortared it several times on the ground, and drop the rifle on all four directions, including directly on the optic. And then I shot it again to confirm zero. And I don't mean at a f****** plate 25 yards away like so many people do. I was shooting 1-inch targets at 25 yards, so 4 minutes of angle. I'm happy to report I've never had a failure with the optic, nor have I needed to re0 the optic. It currently lives on top of my cmmg Mark 9 l e. I would highly recommend this thing. For $200 I don't think anything beats it, and my previous red dot was the an Aimpoint. Oh and when he said solar Fail-Safe, when I bought the optic the. Was on in the store, and then I went outside and checked in bright sunlight and it was plenty bright I couldn't figure out why I couldn't turn the thing off, or get it to adjust. It was because it didn't have a battery in it. The thing will literally run with the battery tray removed as long as it has ambient light. Until somebody else beats their technology I'll be running exclusively hollow sun red dots. The glass is almost as clear as a nine-point, there's a weird effect it gets if you're being illuminated from behind, but it's not a problem and you can still see clearly through the glass. The glass is also extremely clear in the low light conditions.

    Finally Holosun has u on the payroll. Too bad Luis was talking about the 507 back at SHOT 2015 and it didn't hit U.S. retail until recently. Had to settle for two RMR's since then.
    Bought my 1st HS503C almost 3 years ago. 2nd HS503C is a little over 2 years old now. Also have the HS503G.
    Even though they're only IP67 rated they survived the bottom of a 6' pool.

    • @RageQuit003
      @RageQuit003 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      OreGear Pleased enough to stick with them. The 503C's r not calibrated to a standard. My 1st is significantly brighter in auto mode than the 2nd. Auto mode cannot be disabled btw. I think it's after 4 hours the optics will always revert back to auto.
      Love the reticles especially the EOTech copy. Not a big fan of the hologram shimmer when using a real EOTech. Although still nobody beats the crispness of EOTech's 1 moa dot when combined with a fts magnifier.
      Not too long ago i got to try a Sig Romeo5. It's obvious they're oem'd by Holosun. So i may pick one of those up for my Sig pdw project...assuming that chassis ever gets off backorder.

    • @OreGear
      @OreGear  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure I'm a fan of not being able to turn off auto, but I do like the idea of that reticle on a pistol. I also hate using magnifiers so the crispness of the dot isn't a huge deal for me.

    • @RageQuit003
      @RageQuit003 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      OreGear The guy who does 50 yard groups at 16X doesn't like magnifiers. Makes perfect sense.
      The revert to Auto was irritating. I was hoping to lock my brightness so i could easily see the dot indoors while facing a daytime window/using a weapon light.
      My RMR's r set on auto adjust but the sensor on those faces forward. Always at the right intensity.

    • @OreGear
      @OreGear  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The 50 yard groups was mostly because it was hot and I didn't want to walk an extra 100 yards when switching out paper haha. The problem I have with magnifiers is that they add so much weight and when not in use, you have half of your peripheral vision blocked and it throws the rifle off balance. If I want magnification, I'd rather have a 1-6x.

    503C series is nice. Has the same reticle as Eotech plus the 2MOA dot ( switch to either ) MOTECH, and 10 brightness settings. Got it for about $219 and it’s a good cost effective alternative. I had my eye on Holosun products but went with the Vortex UH-1 because I wanted a Made In The USA optic with a great warranty (and I prefer holographic to LED tech), but I'm considering their product line for other applications in the future (particularly pistol-mounted optics, some day). Great price points and it seems that everyone is relatively happy with their optics and customer service. I hope that they can offer some US-made products in the future.
    EOtech, Aimpoint, Trijicon -- you guys should take notice of your new "budget" competitors. The fact that they're putting out more technologically-feature-rich products than you guys should be a wake-up call.

    I like what they are putting out. But until my two aimpoints die, i wont be getting any new rifle optics. Now that pistol optics is another thing. I really like what i hear and enough of you guys who do review vids that I follow have sold me with your honest reviews. Looking to get a laser, please do a review on one of those units.

    I understand why people don't like holosun, but their views are coming from a very narrow minded mindset. They all think that since it's made from China, that the quality will be poor, due to propagandas. However, let me tell you, if i ever do run into a situation where I was put into a life and death situation, I will be glad to do it with my HE510C-GR. It has never let me down before and I believe in it, simply to the fact that everytime I took it to the range, it's never failed me.

    Looks killer but I’ve owned 3 Holosun products and 2 have been defective and I’m not a heavy shooter by any means. They do stand by there products and warranty them but $300/$400 shouldn’t need to be within 3 months of ownership. I’ll use a different brand next time.

    • @OreGear
      @OreGear  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just out of curiosity, in what way were they defective?

    • @99zman
      @99zman 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      OreGear the first one was there Elite reflex sight. It has all kinds of scratches and marks in the emitter lense and show up all around the reticle. The second was a elite green dot sight and it just stopped working after being only 3 months old. Both problems when I called holosun they never had seen this issue before. They sell countless optics and I’m the first one. I’m so sick of hearing they line. But they did stand behind there product and gave me new ones. But I have sold them since and will not but another one. The one red dot I have,so far is perfect.

    Went in to spend 900 on a t2 or EOTech, spent over 50 min pissing the sales guy off tapping my toes over them. the guy handed m an MRO and a Holosun to compare. less than 3 min later I was ringing up my HS512C, I love this sight. PLEASE DO AN ACSS RETICLE!!!!! I'll drop another 300+ in a heartbeat to get one of your products with that reticle, no question.

    THEIR PRICES ARE CREEPING UP THERE NOW GUYS AND GALS! Look at their website! Their stuff is starting to clear well over $400 to $1200! Aimpoint and Eotech much better option for that kind of price.

    I dont see why this issue is so difficult for everybody. There's an easy (stupid-easy) solution here. . Step 1: buy an eotech 512. . Step 2: dominate...
    Its a true ONE moa dot. That 65 moa circle is sooooo incredibly high speed with target transitions. If needed, eotech makes magnifiers that also work just fine. Its brighter than the sun yet dimmable for zero light conditions. Its affordable. Its perfect. Its bulletproof (not literally). Had mine about 5-6 years now. Never NEVER ever had an issue. Batt life is just fine. Dont be irresponsible, change/check your batts every so often, it will never b an issue if you do this. Use the energizer lithium batts as recommended by eotech.. Just get 1.
