STORY
This abandoned house in the American countryside has been frozen in time since 1999, when the last known occupants, Roland and Marjorie, passed away.
The couple had been married for 50 years and raised their two children in the house. They were both passionate about vintage automobiles, and their love for each other was evident in every detail of their home.
After Roland's death, Marjorie found solace in the support of her children and her love of cars. She purchased a 1954 Buick that looked like the one they had on their first date, and it became more than just a car to her. It symbolized their love story and carried treasured memories.
The Buick is still parked in the backyard of the house, along with all of the couple's other belongings. Nobody knows what happened to Marjorie or why she never returned to the house. But one thing is for sure: this abandoned time capsule is a treasure trove of memories that are waiting to be discovered.
Join us as we explore this mysterious house and uncover the story of Roland and Marjorie's love. Who knows what we might find?

I don't know if anyone else picked up on this, but the car is from the 70's, and the microwave was from the 70's. There was also no color film in the 50's. I would say there were people living in the house until the mid 70's.
I think that goose decor and the slate blue color in some of the decor was an early 80s theme, or would you say 70s? I definitely saw a lot of things from the 70s. I wish he would look at the toiletry bottles for dates.
The Seals and Crofts album would have been mid 70's.
Geese & Country Blue def 80's
Love these video’s 🎉❤
I noticed all of that, and also that the refrigerator was from the 70's. They may have been there into the 80's or early 90's, because appliances lasted a long time then and older people did not usually upgrade. When my dad passed in 2014, I found the receipt from the dryer from 1979, the fridge was from the 70's and the stove was still going from the 1960's! They don't make them like that anymore!
This makes me so sad you can tell there was some real love there once, wish their belongings were taken care of too
Lesley, you are such an elegant man. We Americans love you.
I could sense that the house loved you as well. You show such respect for not only the house but the one time occupants of the house. I sense that the occupants were killed in a car accident. 😮
Oh Lesley, my heart is in my mouth every time you go on those risky floors ❤ I Pray for your safety in all you do ❤🙏❤
Hello Justin how's the weather over there
I would say 1970's or early 1980's. The cars, ziploc bags, photos in color, hairstyles. The stitched embroidery is lovely over the fireplace. All the photos, it's so sad! Seals and Croft album my parents had. Electrolux vacuum, made in the USA. Thank you Leslie for the respect you give the house.
Hello Lailah how's the weather over there
I agree…abandon maybe 1980’s. Lots of ‘70’s stuff!
@@EmilyShoup-pu1nt Hello Emily how's the weather over there
Very beautiful house all that dolls I remember me I was 7year old now I’m 63 years old I still remember thank you so much for sharing it I fallow at you I love your videos we love too God bless
The home was a beauty.I really like all the built ins.The layout of the house was nice too. The cars seat you called sofa seat we called it bench seats, and back then the vehicles were made of metals and were very heavy and to ride in them was so quiet and smooth, especially the luxury car Cadillac.Wonderful vehicle. Not a lot of people could afford a car like that back then,so these people had money. The home was lovely, sad now such a waste.❤️👍🇺🇸
It's an uneasy feeling when people just disappear and no information about them
I believe this home was likely last lived in sometime in the 90's. I noticed alot of decorative ducks which were an item in the 90's. The hairdo of the young lady on the dresser in master bedroom was a Farah Fawcett style hairdo, and that hairdo became notorious back in the 70's. But, it became notorious again back in the 90's when it was referred to as the "Rachel". I believe this pad was likely last lived in sometime back in the early 90's. Last but not least. I absolutely loved that beautiful master bedroom. And the furniture was beautiful. The wood on the walls. You could never imagine what some of the other rooms in the house looked like, after viewing those two beautiful bedrooms. Another question we are always left with, "What happened to the family that at one time called this beautiful decaying house theor humble abode??" Thanks for sharing, Leslie and hopefully you didn'tget frost bite. Carry those packets that can be crushed and bring warmth out. Put them in your socks, gloves, etc. They sell them at Walmart and most convenient stores.
Yes and in the 50s there were no microwaves
And the typewriter was definitely something made in the 1990 time frame.
This house was once a stately "craftsman". It's not too far gone to restore but it would be an act of love not a financial investment. Thank you again for sharing a glimpse of the past. RE: the shower combined with the tub, I don't know if this is true for all Americans but some women bathe & wash their hair in the tub then use the shower to rinse off with clean water. Has anyone else heard of that?
Exatamente.

the serial killer lived in this house.
Fascinating. How isolated from other homes was this place?
Glad you didn’t go into the basement!
Fun fact. If you ever go back to cold places, you could try to wear "long johns". I can't do without them when it's -10°C and I have to stay outside more than 15 min. I know very well what you mean when you said " It's freezing ". Haha.
Good point and also a hat! Heard that builders on sites in Winter wear tights 😊
Also heavier shoes made of leather. Sneakers are too cold.
This seems like an amazing location for sure! Its sad to see so many personal belongings and relics left behind just to rot. Keep up the good work! 🔥
I wish we knew more of the backstories behind these places. Precious pictures and memories simply left behind.
@@anh7807.....
But a lot of times the urbexers don't know anything about the structure.
I never thought in all my life that I would see frozen crochet squares 😅
As you say, it is very emotional. …let's think that all of this had life at the time…. Your series of videos is very good 👍🏼🙏🏻
Electrolux is Swedish actually. So yeah you can find it in Europe ☺️ love the video 👍👍👍
Hi Merry Xmas 🎉
Lesley, I love your videos and the passion you have for these old things. You said this house is in Delaware. What city? I was born and raised there. You mentioned fishing village so I imagine you were downstate near the beaches. I lived in Wilmington as a child and in Newark as an adult. I have one request of you. Please don't take the lords name in vain, it is a sin in Christianity of which Jesus is the basis. Thanks in advance for that.
Jesus freaks are so weird
The curved windows most beautifully designed 😮
You do give these abandon places existence and the people(s) an eternal rest!!!! When I go I hope (you or someone like you) might let the world know that I existed too!!!!
10:05 That Sharp Carousel microwave is from the early 80s
Hey Lesley, How lovely to see again a video from Bros of Decay with such an interesting and fascinating background story!
The room in the picture is looking so untouched and very decorative. - Of course I am especially interested to see the rare cars,
as I am a big fan of the American classic cars from the 1940-ies to the 1960-ies
I am already excited to see the video and hear you telling us about the secrets of that abandoned house somewhere in the USA.
Stay safe, my friend, peace and kindest regards from again quite suny and warm Switzerland.
If you read the description, it says the place was occupied until 1999
I’m getting total 70s vibes not 50s. I believe the older woman in the photo frame was probably the owner while the younger lady looks to me like a high school graduate from the 70s. I don’t know I could be wrong but I am a child of the 70s/80s. Very nice video. I also had the 2nd doll from the left when I was a child.
Hard to see so many memories left behind, especially so many that must have so much meaning, like letters, photographs, books, and toys. Thank you for sharing.
the curved window decorated with all the beautiful ornaments simply awesome!!
Good decision Lesley about not going down those stairs to the basement.
I believe it is an artdeco style house. There are a lot of things that leads me to believe they were there at least in the 70s. The pics, the Buick and the decor
And perhaps there maybe a family member out there somewhere in the world a distant cousin or someone who may remember the family you do a great job on sharing the story and thank you for that 🙏😊♥️
Hello how's the weather over there
Hello, I'm late, but so excited to enter into another beautiful place with my favorite explorers. I'll watch again so I can catch the beginning.
Thanks for sharing these beautiful places ❤️
Hello Rhonda how's the weather over there
@@stevenanthony199Weather where I am is shit. That's my update. Why do you keep asking every fxxker what's the weather like where you are ? WTFYO 🤔
This is vintage 1970s. No one has added anything after that it seems. What a time capsule!❤
you mean 80s
California in the house ✌️
Whoever saved the 1954 calendar might have saved it because he/she was born that year? Seals and Crofts was 70s. The microwave seemed modern, maybe early 80s? I can't understand why people would leave behind photographs. To me they're one of our most precious possessions in an ever changing world. Our family lost so many photos during a hurricane back in the 60s. My dad was heartbroken. He loved taking pictures and it was a great loss to him.
Mən o ailənin həyatda olduğuna inanmıram
That’s very great to do they do need to be remembered
I was so excited when i saw that you could go upstairs! What a beautiful home, even with the icicles 🥶. Thanks for being a brave and frozen explorer, I appreciate your enthusiasm and dedication! ❤

I love your videos!! Thank you so much for the work you do.. from Ohio USA.. 💗
Hello Theresa how's the weather over there
I can't believe you are walking on that upstairs floor you are brave
This home hasn’t been abandoned for that long . The people were collectors of old stuff. They hung on to their memories. I have a similar thing going on . I’ve been given belongings from great grandparents, great Aunts and Uncles. It just happens
Me too😉
Yes join my club!
Also some people are far from charity shops or 'goodwill' as they call it in America, so no regular sort outs or donations done
Thank you Leslie! As always, you show an incredible amount of respect. Please be careful! Amazing your are able to get around as you do! Be safe!
Can't wait to see it! 🎉 I will try to tune in while at work. It looks so interesting 🎉
Hi Merry Xmas 🎉
Parabéns por seus vídeos!
Essas pessoas parecem abraçadas num último adeus...❤
I'm sad how a family can leave their home so quickly and lose everything 😢
That microwave is from 1986. It is a Sharp Carousel II
I like this kind of history
There are pictures in the house that dictate they were living there in the 1970's
But nothing past 1999.
Check out the framed cross stitch on the mantle. It has 1983 after the word.
You are so sweet! Thank you for this nice video! You have a special gift for bringing the past to life.
Old people never just leave all their possessions like this. Older generations were/are very particular about their stuff. They organise/sell and give away or put it into storage. So it would be fair to say the last occupant here died suddenly. Or went straight from hospital into a nursing home, permanently. And never got to sort their house. This happens all the time. People! get your photographs and treasured stuff to younger relatives far earlier. Becos fact is, people often die suddenly, even in their late 40’s, 50’s.
Really a pity. It seems to me that there was a lot of sadness in that house, or at least in the way it was abandoned. Very sad. A kiss in your heart
Beautiful family story with a
very sad ending, I'm sorry 😢
Bylo by krásné se podívat na opuštěný místa po letech jestli ještě stále stojí,a skusit najít jaké pozůstalé příbuzné těch lidí, jinak super video moc semi líbilo
We're all just passing through. We get our allotted time, then that's it. All we take with us, are our memories. Make the most of the time you are given.
Thanks for showing us this beautiful house sad but beautiful I wonder if they have great grandchildren who can come and collect the beautiful memories
Esos lugares me dan tanta paz e inspiración.
I love your videos! The architecture of this house looks exactly like a house I just did a walk through in. The pillars and curved window are an exact match ❤️
It’s sad that no one seems to know what has happened to the family and all their belongings just there to slowly rot
Hi, Lesley, at 24:44, it sounded like there was another explorer in there with you as you can hear them moving about. If not...that's a bit spooky! What a lovely old house! I like the way the plumbing is on the top of the wall, much easier to fix and they thought like me, "well, it's there, why not make a feature of it! Lol! Thanks so much for this amazing explore and I hope you eventually got nice and warm at your hotel!
Hello how's the weather over there
You certainly put a lot of effort in such videos. Thank you for sharing so much history. I have been following you for oveer a year and you neveer disappoint. By the way, it is very sweet that you blow us a kiss at the end of the video, but I get terribly worried that the dust and mould on your gloves touches your lips or affect your lungs. Please be careful !
Thank you so much for sharing. Us this beautiful , be safe and happy ❤❤❤
Beautiful place but so sad that its so dekaed you can feel the warm family atmosphere
Fantastic house great find .
Thank you for this 1 of a kind Time Capsule:) This home is wonderful to see thank you for lettin me walk next to you.Hope to see the next video wonder what is next? Love Ya Leslie .
Hello Barbara how's the weather over there
That is very kind of you to share their story and memories. ❤
Deborah is correct. The vehicles do look very 1970’s. Also, Leslie should consider wearing a mask in these old US houses. There was tons of asbestos and led used throughout in the insulation and paint.
There is no insulation in that house
The front picture of the house looks just like the one from A Christmas Story 🎄!!
Hi Merry Christmas 🎉
That green clock with the birds on it I have, it was a Christmas gift in 1997 from an employee of mine at that time, each hour whatever bird was there, would chirp the time!
I sold my clock with birds that chirped on the hour.
Wow!! Amazing place!
Sad the house is left to fail apart thanks for video i enjoyed watching
The car covered with snow is a mid 1960's(1965?) Lincoln Continental and the one in the car port is a late 1980's Ford LTD.
that sound about right, I thing specifically the Lincoln is a 64' its the same model used in the James bond gold finger movie...
Actually,it's a Mercury Marquis!
Bedankt voor deze mooie rondleiding.
Great explore Leslie ❤
There are three glass shades sitting on the dining tables & a chimney sitting on the shelf in the second dining room. I wonder where the lamps are? Also, there is a Dasani water bottle on the desk. That’s pretty recent (not the 50’s).
I would love to get into this place & rescue what is still salvageable.
19:26 Dasani was introduced in February 1999 (so says Wikipedia). Must have been one of the first that these folks got their hands on, but to my eyes, the branding of that bottle does look like what I remember from 1999-2000 or so.
Hola Lesley otro maravilloso video !! Y mi parte favorita cuando te despides 😊 ILove you 😘
GREAT VIDEO CAN'T WAIT FOR NEXT ONE!!!!
I’m getting total 70s vibes here , not 50s. I also think the older woman in the photo was the homeowner. The younger woman looks like a high school graduation photo from the 70s. Idk I could be wrong but I’m a child of the 70s-80s
Saludos !!!!
I would give anything to do what you do, I've never been outside my home state and it saddens me to know that I'm missing out on so much, 36 years old and absolutely no adventures in my life (not even romance 💔)
Never too late to start!
I loved the table and that was an organ. Great video!!! TY
Hi, I'm a new subscriber and this is the first video of yours I've watched. The first room you entered, after the kitchen, would be called a breakfast nook, the other dining room would have been called the formal dining room. In the lounge room, with that amazing fireplace, I think you'll find the photo of the lady you referred to as a grandmother, is actually the lady of the house, most likely taken after her husband passed away. A lot of the more recent photos look like they would be her grandchildren. I had a giggle, when you said peacock lamp, it's actually a rooster 🐓 😊. When you climb or descend stairs, don't step right in the middle, instead step close to the sides, as the sides are stronger and therefore safer. The young man, in the graduation photo, is Kenneth (it's the only word I could read, lol). I thoroughly enjoyed your video and look forward to watching many more. Stay safe and happy travels. Blessings from Australia. 🌻🌻
