Exactly 💯 % So much we just take for granted 😪 people don't even think we never would of had tea ....or chocolate spices wine all these luxurious items now for everyone to enjoy. It's amazing.

@@missybekind5022 exactly, glass was very expensive, and them were particular to one vineyard, maybe theirs. Nothing was wasted in them days, you didn't just go to a corner store and pick up some more, everything had to be imported

The way you handle those artifacts can tell that you are a very respectful person! I think the "value intelligence" and the "moral intelligence" that is embedded in you are more important than the castle itself. Keep it up man!
This castle seems in such good shape. It looks like a museum with all the interiors in good shape and untouched or damaged. Such a great place. I hope some day it does become a museum. It has so much history to offer the modern world.
This kind of thing is an epidemic. The people who are asking for money in order to do this need to consider their criteria. Fulfilling rthe publics wrong ideas is about as ethical as nothing. If this chasracter wants to find out about the owners or occupants then go and see the Lawyers. Politicians. Local Govt. and others and demand or request answers. Its time this society was cleaned up. But it will take force to do it . We are thinking of flming a chocolate factory in order to improve kids education. Got it or not?
It's sad to see many gorgeous buildings abandoned just waiting to rot. If the owners no longer wish to live in them, just put it up for sale instead Or use it as an events place, a hotel, or a b&b. I love history and architecture, and would love to visit plsces like this. It's like taking yourself back into the past. Learning a lot about the people and what life was back then. I'm hoping that this could be sold and renovated to preserve the building's architecture and history.
Exploring these beautiful castles is really a nice insight into early years of life for some people. I find it hard to believe that people just walk out of these beautiful homes and leave their furniture and life history behind. It's a shame that family somewhere doesn't want to claim it or at least take out the personal possessions that is part of their family history.
I would be so heartbroken if someone in my family left behind all of my personal life possessions and family heirlooms. These places need to be preserved, the furniture is so beautiful and some of the antiques need to be restored and placed within the home like back then, u dream of the family and the life they had there.

WOW!! I have to say ~~ you are doing a magnificent job with these videos. Your choice of music is always perfect, fitting every situation. Your passion and compassion are evident, as is your absolute respect and emotions as you detail the findings and the history of the people who abruptly left, or died, or simply abandoned these places. I am from Switzerland and remember exploring old ruins as a child.. We found abandoned places in hidden locations. Some as old as Switzerland itself. PS I grew up there in the 1950ies!
On the little bottle in the cabinet is written "Brou de noix". This is walnut kernel and a natural dye obtained from the pericarp of the walnut, rich in tannins that pigment with light. It is easy to make a solution of walnut kernel to color wood, get ink, or dye hair or textiles.
I could spend hours going through that cupboard with that scrapbook in the attic. This castle is amazingly beautiful! Thank you so very much for exploring these beautiful places for us to see. I am super jealous! I share your enthusiasm for these abandoned castles.

I will be never understand how people can just leave behind artifacts and old paintings of their ancestors. Blows my mind. I have a painting that my great uncle painted - it’s huge and not my style, but I don’t want to just get rid of it because it’s a link to him. (He studied with Leon Lippert in the late 1920s.)

What a grand tour. The book case with all The historical things in it broke my heart. Keeping family histories is so important. Not only does it recognize family histories it will also tell future explorers the history of what life was really like.

Stair case is absolutely stunning. Thank you for being so respectful. Seeing ones in France is 💔... Due to family blood lines it touches a tender spot. Surely there must be extended blood relatives some place to claim, protect and over see their protection. This just saddens me too no end. The oil painting of the female with the shy grin was so beautiful. Looks as if location was used as a school for pastoral internships. The chapel area was breathtaking. 😳
The feet on the bathtubs are not called paws in America. They are called claw foot tub. Also the box you found under the little table I believe it was used to hold coffee and tea It was very expensive back in the day. Servers would take some so owners would put it in a small box and lock them up. A small box so you could move it from room to room. I really enjoy your channel. I've looked at a few of the "abandoned" home videos here and see evidence of care being done within a year of the production of the video. I work at a museum and have experience dating how long an item has been neglected. The items in this property have had attention within the past year or so; not more than 5 years. Therefore, these aren't abandoned but merely unused properties that get occasional attention from their owners.
Still kind of abandoned/decaying but I understand what you mean-and very cool to see. I’d love to pick your brain on some of these places! You can tell in this video for example the grounds are mowed etc

This seems to be a very special place. I absolutely love the staircase, and even the staircase up to the attic. I love the little hidden rooms downstairs off of the main lounge. So beautiful I hated to see the ceiling coming down in the attic rooms. What a wonderful feeling it must be to explore some thing like this! Take care and blessings!

This was my favorite castle of all of your videos I've seen. It was elegant but not so "over the top". I love that there is a fireplace in every room and that every bathroom had a very nice claw foot tub. I may have to watch this again. Thank you!
Leslie, this has to be one of my favorite episodes from your channel. I very much enjoyed seeing all the art and paintings in that incredible collection. The piano you showed us would have dated to around 1820 and are often referred to as "square grand piano's"; At 29.42 minutes the box decorated in chinoiserie was a tea caddy which still contained the pewter containers used to keep the tea fresh. You did a wonderful job exploring this castle! Thank you for sharing.

The original Masonic details in the gates of the chapel and subtle hand sign in the paintings…. Always zoom into the hand signs, jewelry and medals in those old bourgeois paintings. Hola Denise de Castro ... a mi me preocupa más este joven que hace su trabajo con pasión pero... pero él debe tomar medidas de protegerse antes de entrar a esos lugares de “ paredes llenas de hongos... humedad, son edificios enfermos llenos de bacterias peligrosas por el estado del tiempo. Debe ponerse mascarillas, gusntes, medias y cascos antes de entrar en ellos. Admiro su valor y coraje de entrar a donde no sabe con que o con quien se va a encontrar en tan “ encantadores” lugares tenebrosos. Debe cuidarse más.
Gorgeous!!! Can you imagine what it would have looked like with carpets, you can see the runners on the staircase that would have held them down... The ultimate decay is just beginning...so sad.. I think the sketch book is the ultimate find!!!

I'm in So Cal too! I've always wanted to travel but like you never had the money, darn it! His videos are amazing. Have you ever watched any videos of abandoned houses in the U.S.? Not as extravagant as the ones in Europe but still pretty cool. One I saw belonged to a gangster. Probably around 50's or 60's.

This place was beautiful! I loved the stairs, the piano all the paintings and up in the attic. I loved that book with all the drawings. How incredible to find that. Things like that tend to fall apart fast if not taken care of. Also the pictures. All the details. So cool

Love your videos, and loved this one alot. I want to talk about that skull. First thing I noticed was the large amount of mounted trophies from hunts. Whether it was just the horns, skulls, or heads. My first impression was, the guy who lived here loved the hunt, could they have also hunted humans? Then we go into a nice sitting area that leads to a side room. It looked like we just entered a Vincent Price movie. A human skull on an old desk in a red room with a sword on the mantle. As fascinating as that was, that was a dark turn. If that skull was real, no one just has that sitting on a desk for light hearted decor. I also noticed the boards that came out of that same desk. Those looked like paddles for spanking punishment. Those were used on children in the old days for discipline. That makes sense seeing that pic of the boys and the priests. I think this school was used as a religious school for boys and unfortunately bad things happened in places like that. I would love to know more about the history of this place. Also, that coat of arms on the gate caught my attention. A pyramid? In a chapel of God? That screamed Illuminati or Masons. Possibly a section of Skull and Bones, which would explain the skull on the desk. This house as beautiful as it is, may have alot more skeletons in its closet.
I agree, the picture of all those boys and priests on the mansion steps seemed to indicate another purpose for the space at some point. But it was not large enough to house all those people. Odd to imagine a desk with built in paddles! Really? This was a thing?
So interesting, I couldn't help but pick up on the same vibes throughout the video. The mixture of pagan and catholic iconography is not a coincidence. As for the size of the lodge being too small for a school, perhaps all is left is the original hunting lodge, boys could have been housed in separate buildings that may no longer exist. Just a thought.

I love your videos! I could spend days in these places looking at all the treasures. Sometimes I see things I’d love to have a closer look at just because they are of particular interest to me. I love to look at the photos found of previous owners. The last cabinet on the top floor I could sit in front of for hours and hours looking at every single photo. I can sort of “feel” who the people were and what their lives ,ay have been like. We don’t have places like this in the U.S. Thank you for sharing these beautiful places with us!

You did it! I've been wanting abandoned royal castle explores for years. I knew they existed in countries like France, but little known and mostly forgotten. The human skull in a royal castle with a very estoteric nod at the Templars noticing the illumiatetd triangle with Hebrew and the Templars symbol in the little chapel. Wasn't King Louis the 14th the one who got his head chopped off in the French Revolution where the obelisk of Luxor sits in Paris at Concorde Place? Much thanks for showing a most interesting explore. I'm sure there's more than meets the eye there.

WOW!! I have to say ~~ you are doing a magnificent job with these videos. Your choice of music is always perfect, fitting every situation. Your passion and compassion are evident, as is your absolute respect and emotions as you detail the findings and the history of the people who abruptly left, or died, or simply abandoned these places. I am from Switzerland and remember exploring old ruins as a child.. We found abandoned places in hidden locations. Some as old as Switzerland itself. PS I grew up there in the 1950ies!
On the little bottle in the cabinet is written "Brou de noix". This is walnut kernel and a natural dye obtained from the pericarp of the walnut, rich in tannins that pigment with light. It is easy to make a solution of walnut kernel to color wood, get ink, or dye hair or textiles.
To add, Lesley is a great tour guide to us everyday and he's a great guy too. Thanks so much everyone for this magnificent places you're showing us.

I will be never understand how people can just leave behind artifacts and old paintings of their ancestors. Blows my mind. I have a painting that my great uncle painted - it’s huge and not my style, but I don’t want to just get rid of it because it’s a link to him. (He studied with Leon Lippert in the late 1920s.)

What a grand tour. The book case with all The historical things in it broke my heart. Keeping family histories is so important. Not only does it recognize family histories it will also tell future explorers the history of what life was really like.

Stair case is absolutely stunning. Thank you for being so respectful. Seeing ones in France is 💔... Due to family blood lines it touches a tender spot. Surely there must be extended blood relatives some place to claim, protect and over see their protection. This just saddens me too no end. The oil painting of the female with the shy grin was so beautiful. Looks as if location was used as a school for pastoral internships. The chapel area was breathtaking. 😳

The feet on the bathtubs are not called paws in America. They are called claw foot tub. Also the box you found under the little table I believe it was used to hold coffee and tea It was very expensive back in the day. Servers would take some so owners would put it in a small box and lock them up. A small box so you could move it from room to room. I really enjoy your channel. Thank you very much for all the work you do for our enjoyment.

I've looked at a few of the "abandoned" home videos here and see evidence of care being done within a year of the production of the video. I work at a museum and have experience dating how long an item has been neglected. The items in this property have had attention within the past year or so; not more than 5 years.
Therefore, these aren't abandoned but merely unused properties that get occasional attention from their owners.
Still kind of abandoned/decaying but I understand what you mean-and very cool to see. I’d love to pick your brain on some of these places! You can tell in this video for example the grounds are mowed etc

This seems to be a very special place. I absolutely love the staircase, and even the staircase up to the attic. I love the little hidden rooms downstairs off of the main lounge. So beautiful I hated to see the ceiling coming down in the attic rooms. What a wonderful feeling it must be to explore some thing like this! Take care and blessings!

This was my favorite castle of all of your videos I've seen. It was elegant but not so "over the top". I love that there is a fireplace in every room and that every bathroom had a very nice claw foot tub. I may have to watch this again. Thank you!
Leslie, this has to be one of my favorite episodes from your channel. I very much enjoyed seeing all the art and paintings in that incredible collection. The piano you showed us would have dated to around 1820 and are often referred to as "square grand piano's"; At 29.42 minutes the box decorated in chinoiserie was a tea caddy which still contained the pewter containers used to keep the tea fresh. You did a wonderful job exploring this castle! Thank you for sharing.

Hola Denise de Castro ... a mi me preocupa más este joven que hace su trabajo con pasión pero... pero él debe tomar medidas de protegerse antes de entrar a esos lugares de “ paredes llenas de hongos... humedad, son edificios enfermos llenos de bacterias peligrosas por el estado del tiempo. Debe ponerse mascarillas, gusntes, medias y cascos antes de entrar en ellos. Admiro su valor y coraje de entrar a donde no sabe con que o con quien se va a encontrar en tan “ encantadores” lugares tenebrosos. Debe cuidarse más.

I'm in So Cal too! I've always wanted to travel but like you never had the money, darn it! His videos are amazing. Have you ever watched any videos of abandoned houses in the U.S.? Not as extravagant as the ones in Europe but still pretty cool. One I saw belonged to a gangster. Probably around 50's or 60's.

This place was beautiful! I loved the stairs, the piano all the paintings and up in the attic. I loved that book with all the drawings. How incredible to find that. Things like that tend to fall apart fast if not taken care of. Also the pictures. All the details. So cool
I agree 100% with the sentiments you convey in your amazing videos. What a tragedy for such irreplaceable history to fade away with neglect. Ty for sharing it all with the world. Maybe thru you more people will step up to preserve history rich places for future generations
Love your videos, and loved this one alot. I want to talk about that skull. First thing I noticed was the large amount of mounted trophies from hunts. Whether it was just the horns, skulls, or heads. My first impression was, the guy who lived here loved the hunt, could they have also hunted humans? Then we go into a nice sitting area that leads to a side room. It looked like we just entered a Vincent Price movie. A human skull on an old desk in a red room with a sword on the mantle. As fascinating as that was, that was a dark turn. If that skull was real, no one just has that sitting on a desk for light hearted decor. I also noticed the boards that came out of that same desk. Those looked like paddles for spanking punishment. Those were used on children in the old days for discipline. That makes sense seeing that pic of the boys and the priests. I think this school was used as a religious school for boys and unfortunately bad things happened in places like that. I would love to know more about the history of this place. Also, that coat of arms on the gate caught my attention. A pyramid? In a chapel of God? That screamed Illuminati or Masons. Possibly a section of Skull and Bones, which would explain the skull on the desk. This house as beautiful as it is, may have alot more skeletons in its closet.

I agree, the picture of all those boys and priests on the mansion steps seemed to indicate another purpose for the space at some point. But it was not large enough to house all those people. Odd to imagine a desk with built in paddles! Really? This was a thing?

The mixture of pagan and catholic iconography is not a coincidence. As for the size of the lodge being too small for a school, perhaps all is left is the original hunting lodge, boys could have been housed in separate buildings that may no longer exist.

I love your videos! I could spend days in these places looking at all the treasures. Sometimes I see things I’d love to have a closer look at just because they are of particular interest to me. I love to look at the photos found of previous owners. The last cabinet on the top floor I could sit in front of for hours and hours looking at every single photo. I can sort of “feel” who the people were and what their lives ,ay have been like. We don’t have places like this in the U.S. Thank you for sharing these beautiful places with us!

It's a shame to see all of this beauty going to waste. What a grand place this must have been in its day! It's hard to believe that the family just left all of this to go to waste. Waste makes me angry. Do they not have conservation of buildings in France? If it is a nature reserve then it seems feasible that they would want to preserve the castle as well. Countries differ. I don't know what the rules are in France, but I think there should be some way to preserve all this beauty. Guess it like it is in the US. You have to have deep pockets. You did it! I've been wanting abandoned royal castle explores for years. I knew they existed in countries like France, but little known and mostly forgotten. The human skull in a royal castle with a very estoteric nod at the Templars noticing the illumiatetd triangle with Hebrew and the Templars symbol in the little chapel. Wasn't King Louis the 14th the one who got his head chopped off in the French Revolution where the obelisk of Luxor sits in Paris at Concorde Place? Much thanks for showing a most interesting explore. I'm sure there's more than meets the eye there.
