He did good. But I'll be still using my backpack. A 16' TV4 with a luggage/tail bag would look stoopid 😀 If I have to, I'll just attach a 10 litre dry bag to the rear seat.
He did killer, or at least that was his most used adjective. Great job for real I love my biltwell tank bag. Super convenient. Keep up the content guys!
The only problem that I see with these bags is that I would be concerned about them getting stolen or someone breaking into them if you leave them on while commuting if you just take a pitstop somewhere during a day ride. With people breaking into cars simply because they see something interesting like a backpack I can only imagine crooks stealing or stealing from these kinds of bgs. While a backpack might be inconvenient, at least you can take it with you easily and nobody is going to steal it or anything inside of it as long it's on you.
@@A_Dirrty_Bird I personally have a tank bag and that is the biggest downside. Backpack has straps to have it on your back. Tank bags you usually need to carry around like a purse which is quite annoying as you allready have a helmet aswell... If doing short commutes around town i almost rather wear a backpack instead of having my tankbag on.
Not really for dual sports, but this why hard cases are better for your daily. You can lock them and they're harder to remove from your bike. They're also way more expensive and dorky, but it's practical and safe.🤷
@@A_Dirrty_Bird no no my friend that is a huge effort believe me, I commute to the office everyday on my bike and it becomes a pain in your ass. Back pack all the way

This video is an obviously sales ad... Small backpacks are absolutely better than luggage bags for single track. And learning how to pack light is more valuable than storage volume. Please don't go out and buy all the bags possible for you're new dual sport.
Tail bags are definitely for offroading noobs, you cannot move around properly, and you can get hung up which is really dangerous. Too much weight in a front fender bag kills handling. I think some riders just like packing more than they need for whatever reason. We go for 8 hour enduro death marches with just our camelbacks which is enough. All that gear is a liability, and adding 40lbs of gear definitely makes a difference, don't kid yourself.
I agree it comes down too preference. The tail bag might alter the experience after a certain weight but for the most part it helps some get more done. Trails, well that's up to the rider to know it's capabilities and knowledge. Thank you for the topic though.
Just to clarify, are you really having a title saying "noobs wear backpacks" ? let me guess, you are trying to sell those bags right? XD , i always wear a backpack when i ride, got a small one and a big one from your same company (nelson rigg), the difference on carrying a backpack from having those bags on your bike is simple convenience according to circumstances, if you are gonna go for a really long trip then get the bags cause the backpack will start getting really uncomfortable if full and heavy on your back for a long period of time (talking from experience), but, if you are on the city or riding short distances, backpack is way better for carrying daily stuff. The "noob does this" is just silly man, for real....
@@vtwindad1549 It is, it's like being in an upright chair if you lean back on it. As a rule, I always put clothes in my backpack, no tools or anything that can potentially peirce me, LOL!

Only minor skidmarks on the jeans, although the backpack, anz rest of my gear was trashed ( along with the bike)
Also a backpack can carry a decent amount and are very cheap and when you get a bike if your tight for cash you probably already own a backpack. Also some people love the way the bike looks with a bag so would rather wear a backpack

Short ride (30 minutes or so): backpack Long ride or trip where I need stuff: proper bags and luggage Best of both worlds is a tailbag backpack hybrid, which is what I got! Unbeatable when all you're taking is a laptop to a coffee shop.
I commute year round in the Pacific NorthWET and I prefer wearing a backpack, but guess what? It's Nelson Rigg backpack! Shilling aside, I prefer using a backpack (dry bag) since there is already a huge degree of fiddle factor when commuting, especially in wet weather. Over pants, jacket, rain layer on top if it's extra wet, helmet, gloves... and they all have to go on and come off TWICE. For that reason I prefer to use a backpack since there's one less thing I have to fiddle with when I hop off my bike to go in to work. No putting things in or taking out of panniers, no removing a tail back for security, etc. For day rides where all you're going to do is ride a bike then sure, tail bags are cool. Even if you commute just every ince in a while, sure. But for daily commuting, not so much IMO.
I made a video reviewing the Nelson Rigg tank bag on my CRF250L and I LOVE IT. I initially thought I was only going to use it for day trips, but I literally haven't taken it off since first install Can't recommend enough!!💪💪
bags are going to change the balance of the bike. Bags on the rear are going to weight the rear.... bags on the seat/tank will shift the center of gravity up. Its best to always pay attention to these things before carving those s turns...
I had a tail bag on my 2021 cbr to not have to wear a backpack, but after a month of using it I noticed the straps for the bag were leaving wear marks on my paint. Immediately returned to using my backpack.
I have the tank bag and the medium rear bag like in the video. They add functionality but don't take away from the flow of the bike. Many people hate bags, but it might be time to mature a bit and enjoy yourself and the amenities available and not worry what others think it looks like. Are you riding for you or others?
Principle 1) pack light... Principle 2) keep heavy stuff low on bike Principle 3) dont let luggage hinder your movement on the bike when off-road. And now go do whatever the f*** you want to 😊
I'm an ADV rider and I HATE riding with a backpack. I've never tried a motorcycle specific backpack so I dunno if that makes a difference. I added a tail bag last season and it's great. Couple bottles of water, a little snack, and I'm ready to head out for the day.
I'm very happy with my Nelson Rigg tail bag. Glad I purchased the larger expandable one for extra space if need be however it rarely gets used in its extension mode
back pack are literally the best, at least I can take it in the house and fill and empty it at my convenience. And because they are on the rider weight doesn't affect the handing of the bike.
I have some wolf luggage on the tail, it can fit a 12 pack of long neck sodas and even has elastic for a bag of chips on top. One thing you have to remember is what you actually want to carry in the bag; don't just get 6 bags unable to carry a candybar because of its size or shape!
Have recommendations on backpacks? Need a work commuter backpack for specific gear. Luggage is not an option for me as I would have to add and remove it multiple times a day.
I use an OGIO backpack. I look a little like a turtle when wearing it as it has a semi-rigid shell but it will protect your contents without adding drag. My only major negative is that you can’t access the pockets without taking the backpack off, this could be a positive as you won’t lose your contents riding or via pickpockets.
I am in fact a noob ( picked up my fist bike almost a week ago). I am also an old lady (55) who loves my leather backpack, I use it as a pocketbook (it holds tons of old lady shit) and it will be firmly affixed to my back while I'm riding around town. 👍🏻🏍

Disagree. I'll keep the bag that I often forget I'm even wearing. Just find one that has chest and hip straps. Has worked well for me. Hate keeping anything in my car much less on a bike in the open. I need a garage I know..

Disagree. I'll keep the bag that I often forget I'm even wearing. Just find one that has chest and hip straps. Has worked well for me. Hate keeping anything in my car much less on a bike in the open. I need a garage I know..
I like the extra kit.
You have encountered a wild Josh!
Who d f is dis new dude
Josh
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Well duh but I'm confused why they have a new dude
He's been on the channel for quite a while now, I think they brought him on about a year or so ago. He just doesn't appear in a ton of videos.
I think we all know who's the new one here. 😉
Please do a review of Triumph tiger 660
A nice sharp knife and these will become someone else's bags. Just saying. If you have to remove them and take them with you every time you stop, may as well have a backpack which is more convenient. But hey, I get it, the YN crew gotta sell some merch.
I really feel bad for Josh. Sucks to be the face of a bad advertisement. Call it what it is.
Is it a "noob move" to have a milk crate zipped-tied on the back of your 'sickle??
