I am sooo happy to have found your channel!! I have the silk, silk dyes and resist (unfortunately the rubber based 😒) and want to get started. Thank you! I can’t wait for your instructions. I think I will get the water based resist first. Much easier to get out after steaming.
Thank you for your kind words Grimingo! Remember, I am using silk paints that need to be 'heat-set' with a HOT IRON, no steaming! These silk paints are called Dye-Na-Flow. The water-based gutta that I use is called, Jacquard Resistad. All of my equipment and silk yardage, I purchase from Dharma Trading in California. Check out their website, by the same name. ( They do ship internationally, as well.) Check out more of my videos, for other painting techniques on silk. Hope this helps.
2:03 I am planning to use gold water-based gutta (either Jacquard or Pebeo) and will steam the completed project. This will be a wearable so will the gold lines stay in?
Good day from California ❤ love this and wanting to learn more ! Where does one get the silk pieces and do they come with sewn seams ?, I have a lot to learn 😊Ty for being here 🎉
Good Afternoon Dee Dee, Thanks for your kind words, and for your interest. I purchase all my materials, with the exception of my wooden frames, from Dharma Trading. The company is based in California, and they have a website. They are quite helpful, if you need to call. They sell hemmed scarves, which are ready to use, but they also sell different types of silk by the yard. If interested, I also have an online class for beginners, and you can find the link in the description at the bottom of my videos. Hope this helps. All the best! 🖌️🌺
Thanks for ur video on this gutta I want to know about gutta From where to get this and which is the best brand for practice and also the pins u fixed at the top of gutta Thanks again
Good Afternoon Meenakshi Goel, thanks for your interest. I use a water-based gutta by Jacquard, which you can purchase from Dharma Trading, in California. ( I purchase all of my equipment, including the silk yardage, from that store. They cater to artists, and also have a website. ) The pins I use are a combination of steel pins and three-pronged Chinese Suspension hooks, which can also be purchased from Dharma Trading. Hope this helps.🖌
Good Morning Karin Lind, Thanks for your question. I use Jacquard's Resisted, which is water-based. I purchase it from Dharma Trading, based in California. ( They do ship internationally, if you need.) Do tell them that I recommended them to you. Hope this helps.
Good Morning Dianne Roy, I am a Textile Designer/Printmaker, so all of my designs are my own. They are all original, one-of-a-kind. Thanks for your interest. All the best on your projects. Feel free to ask me any questions or any concerns that you may have.🖌
Good Morning Harwinder Neelu, I did not know that Pebeo Setasilk had golden gutta, but if you followed their instructions on the bottle, you may need to contact the manufacturers of Pebeo, themselves. I do know that the metallic gutta comes off when you dry clean the fabric, and is eventually washed off. I usually use the metallics for wall-hanging projects. Hope this helps. Continue to experiment!
Good Morning Noor Bajwa, I have never attempted to make ‘gutta’, since it is made specifically for use on silk. So sorry. Good luck if you try, but why would you want to do this? All the best.🖌️
Good Morning Made Rampuria, I do not quite understand your question. Bees wax is used in Batik, not silk painting. The 'gutta' is the resist for this process. Hope this helps.

Good Morning Aruna Namballa,

First time viewer. I see a paper below with the design. Do you design that yourself or do you buy a design?
