Hi Driveline Master! Great video series, they have been a great help to me disassembling some C52 gearboxes. Should the output shaft/pinion gear be kept as a pair with the final drive/ring gear? Unfortunately to make the best out of my 2 gearboxes I might have to use the output shaft of one gearbox with the final drive gear from another. Can i expect this to be noisy? Is there any way to prevent this? Kind regards!
It's always advised to replace gears as a pair however it's not always possible. Look for signs of wear on the gears. Make sure the teeth count is the same. Make sure the bearing journals for the other gears are all the same. Make sure the synchronizer splines are the same. If all seems like it's going to fit go for it.
Thank you for making this series.
