Tbf i feel bad about you retail workers there in 1st world countries, i live in a 3rd world one and here the costumers were never rude, but i had a LOT of the ones who have like 500 cards to pay,

When i worked in retail, i thought it was weird how every customer would immediately target me for things but not the veterans of the store. It took me a couple of months to realize that the vets would keep a low profile by wearing their jackets over their vests, taking off their vests to go on break, pretending to be really busy so no one would ask them things, and sending the new hires to do work on the floor

Yeeep. Pretty much. After a while you learn to blend in. I stopped wearing my name tag at work after the first year or so.
For some reason costumers approach me even if my arms are full of heavy product. I do wear my jacket to try and blend in though. If I see someone go for a newbie I help out just because I know how much it sucks to get swarmed all the time when you don't even know the place.
Un-ironicly one of the scariest and most stress inducing jobs... I mean games
If they made a horror game where you work in a busy sub restaurant it would be my nightmare lol, i could never use that stupid deadly slicer fast enough

Back when I was in uni, I worked as a kitchen hand despite applying for a waiter position. It was my first job so I took it anyway. Then turns out being waiters are actually miles better than whatever the hell is happening in the kitchen, which was why all the waiter position were taken. I haven't worked with customers in retail as per say, but tbh I can't relate with the meme of customers being all bad and rude. My coworkers in the kitchen was actually hell to work with and I see their same faces/tantrum every shift, whereas rude customers can be here and there (I assume)

Also, I'm glad the dev kept all the references from the original version.
I'm glad they're continuing this game, there was intresting peices of lore sprinkled throughout the orginal and I'm happy to see more.
I think he missed the pizza guy. I'm not sure how to trigger it, but after some time, he knocks on your door and does a little dance. His theme is also really catchy.
Also the game ideas is cool in general

i like how the customers get completely peeved when you take longer than 10 seconds to bring them somewhere but are completely fine with you tossing probably heavy box at them

When the first version of the game came out, I was still a student however my introvertedness still freaked out. But now I am in retail, so NOW the retail horror hits.

I really like the hidden messages in every single name of product. Like one can of paint says "pain", or "get out" instead of "cool kids" juice. It's cool

Oh wow! Wasn’t expecting to see this game again. As someone who works in retail, sub shop and deli, it can get like this when it’s a lunch/dinner rush.

My job hardened me mentally but i honestly still think this chaos of uncontrolled consoomerism has something in store which maybe could be considered almot eldritch in its worst stages .

@@Snyperwolf91 It's true, anyone who lasts for longer than a year in retail has had or has developed the ability to mentally endure stuff that regular people can't. Retail has taught me many useful communications skills to get through the thick skulls of potato-brained human wastes-of-flesh, I've moved on to HVAC/Plumbing now and every single "problematic" customer they've warned me about has been no issue for me to deal with.
I ADORE how some of the items say weird stuff when your stalking the shelf, Like the Ketchup saying “your waisting your life”

I will always love how accurately they captured the horror of working as a floor staff in retail, right down to the bloody dude asking for the aisle he is standing in.
Like damn who didnt wanna just hide in the backroom when its busy and you helped so many dang people nonstop and got like 20% of your work done. I'll look forward to night 2 if you play it.

9/10 retail simulator. The game is just missing customers who ask you to go grab stuff they forgot from their list for them while they wait in the checkout line.
This really feels like one of those old arcade games!

I like the tiny amount of references they made to other horror games like Baldi's or Spooky's jumpscare mansion.

100% accurate to retail jobs... I agree with the other comments, the only unrealistic thing is when the customers actually say 'excuse me.' I can't wait to see more development of this. Unlike true retail - this was actually fun, I really enjoyed watching this.
They should add a customer who is very courteous and polite, they never rush you down and if they ask you to find something they aren't timed like the other customers, but if you hit them with a box accidentally you get fired unlike normal shoppers.
I never realized until today that the intro gives you such a nice visual tutorial about all the mechanics. You have to put your stuff in your locker using the mechanics to place items on the shelf, and Jimmy shows you that you use break rooms to reset aggro and can throw boxes to stun customers.

After discovering the secret room I assumed the manager was a serial killer or something, you known the typical plot twist.
Turns out he only wants the employee to keep coming, enduring the same treatment, six days a week, for minimal wage with no benefits, until you cannot take it anymore.
.... Maybe I would have preferred the serial killer.
We need an 8 hour long version of this, with a dlc called "unpaid overtime"

The new customer is 100% a Karen and likely will either cause your timer to drain faster or she'll change her mind about where she wants you to take her and have multiple things she wants at once leading to longer delay

this is exactly how working retail was for me. sometimes you gotta throw boxes at the patrons just so you can actually get your work done.
I've noticed a lot of other big channels are taking notes from ManlyBadassHero and started playing alot of games he has covered already.

This is actually a very accurate portrayal of how working in retail FELLS. It's hilarious to me how the average customer doesn't understand that a retail employee is just a GUY. He has no skills and he does know ANYTHUNG. Just leave him alone!

From what I can tell, the new customer type is a Karren, who are quite famous for saying "I WANT to SEE your MANAGER". But considering that would be an instant loss, and it's only night 2.. it might be a mechanic where if you don't service them after a certain amount of time, they'll demand to see the manager, or they might ask you to "Go search for the thing they want because you *must* have it stocked in the back"
Well jf they add enemies I hope they add passive npcs like the baby
Well here are some consumer ideas
Bodybuilder threat level minor: immune to box throwing but moves slowly and knocks over other customers
Karen threat level major: pathetically slow and can get distracted by other customers however she has the least patience of each consumer and its an instant game over if you hit her with a box
It could also be the "Too good for ur time" customer, he send you searching for a precise item, and he will "stay" in the same position while you do, the only point is that he actually moves randomly while supposed to be waiting for you.
Wow I did not expect this game coming back, I can't wait to see what the future holds for it

As a Walmart Canada employee, I can confirm this is what an average night looks and feels like.
This game's great, I wish it was available on STEAM, but I guess that's just how germfood rolls.
I like how when you have to help a customer, the music starts off slow and then gradually gets faster to create that form of suspense. Very Sonic The Hedgehog-like.
I also forgot to mention how much of nightmare this store's layout is. I want to speak to the manager.

When this game came out like several years ago, I never worked in a retail...But now I'm working at a retail, I understand the pain and horror of working in one..

Not going to lie I've had to work in a customer service area and people like this where practically pile on me and practically I didn't know where things were and people would ask me where things were and I would just say random aisle numbers hoping that they would not get mad but then there was just one Karen this one God damn Karen will not leave me alone at all and keep asking me for alcohol I kept getting mad so then I proceeded to say hey I knew here I don't know much about this place yet but you can bring it up with a manager and I'm sure he'll proceed to tell you Karen and I literally did say that but after that happened at least the manager was nice and surprisingly the manager was black but he then somehow convinced that Karen to be docile and well least I survived during December but I really never should have joined during December I should have joined after I should have got the job after December
I'm scared to see what the deli customers are going to be like. I'm sure there will be a fat man who is extra impatient to get his cheese and then later complains to you that it wasn't cut right for him.
i love how manly is smh so calm, even in horror game types, his playthrough made the game feels more relaxing lol
