Just remember folks, Yangyang can slot in to any team as a sub-dps. Just don't expect high damage screenshots, but do expect Liberation spamming up the wazoo.
Finally someone who can see the value of yangyang. Any character that want to spam liberation. If u don't have their Bis sub dps then yangyang is the go to.
@@Lol-Lol0 Most people with mid knowledge of the game get that about Yanyang. It's not a hidden, breakthrough realization. But, even without god roll echoes, it's not uncommon to get enough er substats to have the liberation ready each rotation anyway, and/or already have a better sub dps they can use.
I'm almost certainly pulling for her. I'll see where I stand with Asterites when Rinascita comes around. I don't have Zhezhi, but I'm considering pulling for her on her rerun, since I also have Jinhsi, so I'd be grabbing a subDPS for two top-tier characters, since Yinlin is not nearly as good for Jinhsi. That's depending on how my pulls go though. At least I have the guarantee, since I was at 0 pity from my last Camellya, dropped a random 10-pull to see if I get lucky and snag a Lumi, and got Lumi+Encore. I'm at like ~5 pity now, with 20 pulls, and should have about 35-40 when 2.0 drops, with all the free reset pulls we'll be getting I should have enough by Week 2, even without doing much exploration in Rinascita. I'm now building Lumi for exploration mainly, but when I level her up more, I'll see how she plays with Changli because I heard good things about that team. I'll also see how fast her rota is with Discord, since I have that one at like R3. Of course, all this depends on two factors: first, how much I like Carlotta as an NPC, and her playstyle in the trial; and second, how long does Roccia's rota last, to decide if she's worth getting for Camellya (the only character I went all-in for and got to S2R1) without fucking up my Shorekeeper-buffer-Camy rota. ...On the other hand, I'm pretty sure SK will be rerunning in a couple versions, probably like 2.1-2.2, and I could then pick up her S1 from the Coral shop to extend the duration of Stellarrealm, which would let me field the subDPS for longer. But I'd prefer to instead keep saving the Corals and get a Sequence orb for a DPS like Carlotta for example. I'm really unsure for now.

I've just 100% every region, did every quest, ToA to at least 21 stars since two months after launch when I had enough characters to do that. In the last two months, I did 27/30 ToA, so I had a LOT of Asterites saved up. About 100 pulls when Camellya debuted? I skipped a bunch of characters and got lucky in my pulls. I also haven't been spending my Corals since 1.2. It accumulates.
@mikoajbaszczyszyn4568 I'll second that thought on saving corals for S1 Shorekeeper. One some teams, I'm like a few seconds off from missing her intro cinematic. S1 is a huge QoL. I have just 325 corals after spending 80 on Youhu (not sure if regrettable 😅) since I skipped Jiyan's rerun since I have him already. I should have enough corals after pulling Carlotta on my guarantee and her weapon. Already have Zhezhi, so I should have a decent team ready for her. It's not too difficult to save corals unless starving for pulls. I've been getting Podcast and Lunite Sub since launch, and did some mid tier top ups with double bonus so I could secure Yinlin and Jinhsi with their signatures back then. I have Shorekeeper, Xiangli Yao (from event) and Camellya with their signatures too. Changli, Zhezhi and Jiyan use Camellya's, Yinlin's and Jinhsi's signatures, respectively. Wuwa is very generous with their banners, thankfully.

And their character banner pity is up to 80, not 90 like Genshin. So again, not a whale, but probably a flounder, not yet a dolphin? Idk!
I think she'll be amazing and a ton of fun, grab her if you can but she'll probably be the first to rerun as well so dont feel bad missing out on her first run.

I really want Carlotta but I don’t have Zhezhi and that’s her best support so until I get Zhezhi I’m not going to be pulling for Carlotta because I want her to be at her full potential. And she’s a single attacker so ima need Zhezhi either way.
apparently a lot of testers have reported that her best teams arent actually zhezhi teams but quickswap teams with changli/yao/jinshi to the point where she was actually nerfed to be worse in quickswap but it should still be very close with hypercarry. So if that is your concern I dont think you should skip.
I didn't even think of her being single target oriented. That does make her a tad disappointing. Even if she's around Jinshi, she can't really roomclear. I guess I'll work around that with Zhezhi skill.
The pros of it is that she's really Agile, has range so you're be safer than most characters, and she has Gap closer moveset so no matter you're far away, she'll still be able to gap close the enemy whenever needed
For the people questioning themselves if they should pull for Carlotta cause they don't have zhezhi. Carlotta is still Good with characters like lumi and taoqi, a slower rotation may mean slower time but tbh outside of ToA that doesn't really matter much Besides if you don't have enough to pull for zhezhi you probably won't have enough to get the best set up for her overall anyways

As a zhezhi haver Im ofc pulling for her. Especially because ice is the only element after aero i dont have a proper dps for which maybe an issue for future elemental resistance TOA floors or limited time event content with specific buffs.
They had to restrict the quick swap style otherwise she was getting out of hand with her power...the biggest balancing challenge wuwa will face in future will be this high elo vs low elo esque playstyles and the difference is big. If they nerf her multipliers due to being used as quick swap Majority of players will find her underwhelming but might very good in subdps aka changli. on the other hand restricting her to hypercarry makes her strong and majority can find her strong and don't have to worry about quick swap playstyle power creeping everything
I don't have Zhezhi and I'm not really keen on getting her, even though I have Jhinsi, Zhezhi's a bit weird to play. Because of that I'm thinking of skipping Carlotta to get Roccia, that way I can free up Sanhua from Camellya if need be, I also have Encore and Stringmaster so I could use another Basic Damage Enhancer subDPS.

For me, im going to pull for Carlotta and her weapon (if i can). Why? Well, he did mention some points and explain it. First of all, i want Carlotta for a Glacio DPS. So i can beat Tower of Adversity. I specifically talking about tower that give 'Glacio DMG boost'. I want to try get 30 star to get all the asterite. Now, i dont have Lingyang, and as he said. Lingyang is suck. But luckily, i have Zhezhi. Secondly, i dint know her playstyle yet, i really prevent myself from looking at leak. So i cant really answer about her playstyle
Parrying, and dodging, help in building concerto energy, so it’s actually counterproductive when you don’t use the game mechanics, so that “ don’t dodge” tactic will result in less dmg overall, and less optimal gameplay.
Dont have zhezhi but already lost 50/50 on yinlin(looks like ill be missing out on her🤷🏽)thinking i should just save guaranteed and go for carlotta and zhezhi if i can.
I didn't like her at first, but toward the end of her story, I started to. Her kit is very good and her duration for buffs are great. She definitely grew on me. I prefer more elegant and serious characters like Jinhsi and Changli, but she earned a good spot in my line up.
There is a realistic chance phoebe will be a spectro buffing coordinated attacker because there is a new set for coordinated attacks with no user except zezhi/mortefi
No i dont, its the opposite. Kuro spam end game events and camellya can clear everything lol. My other dps like jinhsi jiyan etc struggle with some event but not camellya

Sanhua and Mortefi are easily the two best A ranks in the game. Especially Sanhua - she is good with so many characters. (And Mortefi is about to get big buff to his coordinated attack damage with the new echo set.) As for whether Carlotta is functional without Zhezhi... Most likely, yeah. Usually, if you are playing a traditional hypercarry comp, missing the BiS sub-DPS is a noticeable damage loss, but doesn't make a character "unviable" as long as their base kit is good. For example... I have neither Yinlin not Xiangli Yao's dupes or signature weapon, so I'm running him on a copium team with Sanhua nad an s0 Shorekeeper.... And he still clears most end-game content with full stars relatively easily. Plus, if you are skilled enough, dual DPS comps that make full use of quick swap techs can often perform as well or better than traditional hypercarry comps. That said... Zhezhi will rerun at the same time as Carlotta's banner. If you have a decent amount of summons saved up, (or if you rush to complete as much content as you can before their banner is over) there is a good chance you can get both. If you wanna go for Charlotta first and try your luck on Zhezhi later or go the other way around is up to you. (Keep in mind that Jinhsi is still the strongest single target DPS as of 1.4, and that Zhezhi is her best partner. If you get Zhezhi first, you could go for Jinhsi during the second half of 2.0 if you fail to get Charlotta.) Personally, if you care about meta, I advise you wait untill 2.0 is out and Charlotta has been tested before making the final call, though.

Any way, I'll do what you say and wait for Carlotta to be tested but one thing for sure is that I'm going to pull for the first half banners, the featured 4 stars characters are too good to miss out.

One warning about Mortefi, though: in order to trigger the coordinated attacks from his ultimate, the on-field character needs to deal either basic attack damage, or heavy attack damage. This means that some characters, such as Jinhsi, Calcharo, and Xangli Yao, are unable to trigger Mortefi's coordinated attacks during their enhanced states. And assuming that Charlotta's basic attacks are converted into skill damage during her enhanced state... Mortefi might have bad synergy with her as well. If that's the case, it might be better to use Charlotta in a dual DPS comp, or pair her with Sanhua for quick rotations. Yinlin is likely a solid pick as well, since she can do a lot of off-field damage with no strings attached. (Alternatively... You could use either Lumi or Taoqui with an s5 Discord broadblade for the 38% skill DMG deepen, or maybe Yangyang for the CC and extra energy regen, but... I have almost no experience with those characters, and they are ranked pretty low on Prydwen, so I'm not sure if they would be good or not. Sometimes the damage bonus you get from an outro skill is not worth the field time it takes to build it up.)
Camellya is sort of on par with Jinhsi already, and Roccia should bump her up more. Jihnsi is still missing a bis sub dps, though, but by the looks of it, now I'm kind of worried they will just gimp Carlotta.
I'm kinda confused on why people are angry with the quickswap nerfs, cuz if you look at it in a certain way, Quickswap being undebateably better than Hypercarry is pretty problematic when it's to the point where you're forced into the playstyle just to get her "maximum" potential. In my eyes, nerfing Quickswap just means Hypercarry becomes a viable option while still having Quickswap if you want to.
Jinhsi & Camellya for biggest dmg numbers, but Jinhsi overall is better, just have a char. with coordinated attack or fast rotation given you don't really buff stack with S6 Jinhsi. Honestly just choose any limited 5 star you like.
Just pull for what you want, you play to have fun anyways, if you don't like zhezhi or you're only pulling her for a team i recommend looking for an alternative, yes its gonna perform less, but at least you can actually pull for a character you want
If you got Yinlin you really don't need Zhezhi. If you don't got both, just make do with 4 star, not like Jinhsi really need a 5 star char. for her forte. Atm im using Lumi & Verina with Jinhsi, doesn't matter if i don't full her Forte, she still slaps at half forte, plus faster rotation.
poeple on testserver said quickswap teams were better than zhehi teams for carlotta. Kuro nerfed her quickswap playstyle but even now a team like changli/jinhsi/yao + carlotta is said to perform very close to zhehi hypercarry, just harder to play. So she will work just fine
I dont have zhezhi and i also dont have jinhsi thats the thought of pulling for carlotta never came to my mind because if i pull and get carlotta i wont have her weapon nor zhezhi so i thought i would skip zhezhi and carlotta and get jinhsi and her weapon instead in phase 2
@Heybrotruthhurts I 'am' a f2p and you don't have to be a dolphin or a whale to get the limited weapons for your characters you just have to spend enough time on the game by exploring areas and completing quests to get your desired characters and weapons

Yinlin is the best subDPS for Xiangli Yao, but I think Changli+Xiangli Yao duo DPS is just as good. For others, Zhezhi is better. Zhezhi's better for Jinhsi, for Camellya, both can do Coordinated Attacks if you need it for events or something... Honestly, if you have Zhezhi, you don't need Yinlin. Especially since you already have the best subDPS for Carlotta. Rule of thumb: pull for the new characters, not reruns, unless the rerunning character is one that fulfills a role you have no other character to fill, or you really love the character.
@mcbx3d that's what I thought. Quick swapping for JohnLee Yao isn't that bad though, since his animations last really long. I tried it out, and while I whiffed it sometimes, I also didn't put in any time to learn the rota. I just went XLY Ult skill basic Forte, swap to Changli Echo 3 hit, XLY skill basic Forte, Changli Ult Forte, XLY Skill basic Forte. Changli rota also could be skill+basic to fill a Forte bar for every swap, and I could consistently trigger 3 Yao Fortes every Ult.
new player here, does this game need meta characters like Camellya or Jinshi to clear the end game content? I have R1 Encore with Yinlin's weapon, is that enough for the end game? I mean, if I pull a character that I like without thinking about the meta, will I struggle in the end game content?
@@willyo-m8o First off to adress the initial question - while meta definitly exists, almost every character gets released in a really good state where they can clear the endgame content at the time with ease, and will continue being able to do so very well. One big recommender is that for Main DPS characters, you get their weapon, as 5* weapon in this game are really big increases. I also wanted to say that Encore is a really strong DPS, currently one of the better ones I would say. If you use her with Sanhua and Verina you should be able to best the endgame for a long while once you get them properly invested.
@@ritomark7401 still an annoying nerf not just to Quickswap because it's not as flexible now. Before even as hypercarry u could use ult whenever u want for the dmg but now you have to use it after using Forte attack first to get the same dmg. Can't just use ult whenever u want anymore

Almost all the characters we currently have can be played quick swap with the exception of camellya, so I don’t see the big issue in more variety, y’all want every single character that will ever exist to play the same way then complain that they play the same way a month later😭😭😭

Zhezhi will be getting a rerun alongside Carlotta, so if you have the pulls it's worth a try
As a zhezhi haver Im ofc pulling for her. Especially because ice is the only element after aero i dont have a proper dps for which maybe an issue for future elemental resistance TOA floors or limited time event content with specific buffs.

They had to restrict the quick swap style otherwise she was getting out of hand with her power...the biggest balancing challenge wuwa will face in future will be this high elo vs low elo esque playstyles and the difference is big.
If they nerf her multipliers due to being used as quick swap Majority of players will find her underwhelming but might very good in subdps aka changli.
on the other hand restricting her to hypercarry makes her strong and majority can find her strong and don't have to worry about quick swap playstyle power creeping everything
Just get both crit weapons from standard it's much more worth it than a random standard character
I see no reason not to get her when i already have a zezhi. I think roccia is a safe skip, sanhua is good enough for camellya + she’s getting a skin.

I don't have Zhezhi and I'm not really keen on getting her, even though I have Jhinsi, Zhezhi's a bit weird to play.
Because of that I'm thinking of skipping Carlotta to get Roccia, that way I can free up Sanhua from Camellya if need be, I also have Encore and Stringmaster so I could use another Basic Damage Enhancer subDPS.

For me, im going to pull for Carlotta and her weapon (if i can). Why? Well, he did mention some points and explain it.
First of all, i want Carlotta for a Glacio DPS. So i can beat Tower of Adversity. I specifically talking about tower that give 'Glacio DMG boost'. I want to try get 30 star to get all the asterite. Now, i dont have Lingyang, and as he said. Lingyang is suck. But luckily, i have Zhezhi.
Secondly, i dint know her playstyle yet, i really prevent myself from looking at leak. So i cant really answer about her playstyle
since shes not an onfield character i dont really want to have her, rather sticking with camellya

Parrying, and dodging, help in building concerto energy, so it’s actually counterproductive when you don’t use the game mechanics, so that “ don’t dodge” tactic will result in less dmg overall, and less optimal gameplay.
Main pro to pull Charlotta is Sanhua in her banner.

I didn't like her at first, but toward the end of her story, I started to. Her kit is very good and her duration for buffs are great. She definitely grew on me. I prefer more elegant and serious characters like Jinhsi and Changli, but she earned a good spot in my line up.

My account is new so I don't have much options, it seems Sanhua and Mortefi comes with her banner and they're really good too
Sanhua and Mortefi are easily the two best A ranks in the game. Especially Sanhua - she is good with so many characters. (And Mortefi is about to get big buff to his coordinated attack damage with the new echo set.)
As for whether Carlotta is functional without Zhezhi... Most likely, yeah. Usually, if you are playing a traditional hypercarry comp, missing the BiS sub-DPS is a noticeable damage loss, but doesn't make a character "unviable" as long as their base kit is good. For example... I have neither Yinlin not Xiangli Yao's dupes or signature weapon, so I'm running him on a copium team with Sanhua nad an s0 Shorekeeper.... And he still clears most end-game content with full stars relatively easily.
Plus, if you are skilled enough, dual DPS comps that make full use of quick swap techs can often perform as well or better than traditional hypercarry comps.
That said... Zhezhi will rerun at the same time as Carlotta's banner. If you have a decent amount of summons saved up, (or if you rush to complete as much content as you can before their banner is over) there is a good chance you can get both.
If you wanna go for Charlotta first and try your luck on Zhezhi later or go the other way around is up to you. (Keep in mind that Jinhsi is still the strongest single target DPS as of 1.4, and that Zhezhi is her best partner. If you get Zhezhi first, you could go for Jinhsi during the second half of 2.0 if you fail to get Charlotta.)
Personally, if you care about meta, I advise you wait untill 2.0 is out and Charlotta has been tested before making the final call, though.

Because of Mortefi's kit, I was thinking he would still be a more than decent partner for Carlotta with the coordinated attacks.
Any way, I'll do what you say and wait for Carlotta to be tested but one thing for sure is that I'm going to pull for the first half banners, the featured 4 stars characters are too good to miss out.

One warning about Mortefi, though: in order to trigger the coordinated attacks from his ultimate, the on-field character needs to deal either basic attack damage, or heavy attack damage.
This means that some characters, such as Jinhsi, Calcharo, and Xangli Yao, are unable to trigger Mortefi's coordinated attacks during their enhanced states.
And assuming that Charlotta's basic attacks are converted into skill damage during her enhanced state... Mortefi might have bad synergy with her as well.
If that's the case, it might be better to use Charlotta in a dual DPS comp, or pair her with Sanhua for quick rotations.
Yinlin is likely a solid pick as well, since she can do a lot of off-field damage with no strings attached.
(Alternatively... You could use either Lumi or Taoqui with an s5 Discord broadblade for the 38% skill DMG deepen, or maybe Yangyang for the CC and extra energy regen, but... I have almost no experience with those characters, and they are ranked pretty low on Prydwen, so I'm not sure if they would be good or not. Sometimes the damage bonus you get from an outro skill is not worth the field time it takes to build it up.)

Camellya is sort of on par with Jinhsi already, and Roccia should bump her up more. Jihnsi is still missing a bis sub dps, though, but by the looks of it, now I'm kind of worried they will just gimp Carlotta.
I'm kinda confused on why people are angry with the quickswap nerfs, cuz if you look at it in a certain way, Quickswap being undebateably better than Hypercarry is pretty problematic when it's to the point where you're forced into the playstyle just to get her "maximum" potential.
In my eyes, nerfing Quickswap just means Hypercarry becomes a viable option while still having Quickswap if you want to.

At s6 all limited 5 star dps can solo. So it doesn't matter
Jinhsi & Camellya for biggest dmg numbers, but Jinhsi overall is better, just have a char. with coordinated attack or fast rotation given you don't really buff stack with S6 Jinhsi.
Honestly just choose any limited 5 star you like.

Just pull for what you want, you play to have fun anyways, if you don't like zhezhi or you're only pulling her for a team i recommend looking for an alternative, yes its gonna perform less, but at least you can actually pull for a character you want
If you got Yinlin you really don't need Zhezhi.
If you don't got both, just make do with 4 star, not like Jinhsi really need a 5 star char. for her forte.
Atm im using Lumi & Verina with Jinhsi, doesn't matter if i don't full her Forte, she still slaps at half forte, plus faster rotation.
poeple on testserver said quickswap teams were better than zhehi teams for carlotta. Kuro nerfed her quickswap playstyle but even now a team like changli/jinhsi/yao + carlotta is said to perform very close to zhehi hypercarry, just harder to play. So she will work just fine

Do you like using Yao? Then get Yinlin. But if you like Zhezhi and/or are more excited for Carlotta, then just get Carlotta
Yinlin is the best subDPS for Xiangli Yao, but I think Changli+Xiangli Yao duo DPS is just as good. For others, Zhezhi is better. Zhezhi's better for Jinhsi, for Camellya, both can do Coordinated Attacks if you need it for events or something... Honestly, if you have Zhezhi, you don't need Yinlin.
Especially since you already have the best subDPS for Carlotta.
Rule of thumb: pull for the new characters, not reruns, unless the rerunning character is one that fulfills a role you have no other character to fill, or you really love the character.

@mcbx3d that's what I thought. Quick swapping for JohnLee Yao isn't that bad though, since his animations last really long. I tried it out, and while I whiffed it sometimes, I also didn't put in any time to learn the rota. I just went XLY Ult skill basic Forte, swap to Changli Echo 3 hit, XLY skill basic Forte, Changli Ult Forte, XLY Skill basic Forte. Changli rota also could be skill+basic to fill a Forte bar for every swap, and I could consistently trigger 3 Yao Fortes every Ult.

new player here, does this game need meta characters like Camellya or Jinshi to clear the end game content? I have R1 Encore with Yinlin's weapon, is that enough for the end game? I mean, if I pull a character that I like without thinking about the meta, will I struggle in the end game content?

First off to adress the initial question - while meta definitly exists, almost every character gets released in a really good state where they can clear the endgame content at the time with ease, and will continue being able to do so very well. One big recommender is that for Main DPS characters, you get their weapon, as 5* weapon in this game are really big increases.
I also wanted to say that Encore is a really strong DPS, currently one of the better ones I would say. If you use her with Sanhua and Verina you should be able to best the endgame for a long while once you get them properly invested.

Almost all the characters we currently have can be played quick swap with the exception of camellya, so I don’t see the big issue in more variety, y’all want every single character that will ever exist to play the same way then complain that they play the same way a month later😭😭😭
