John, another great video as always. Thanks for covering an aspect of the hobby many of us don’t have access to. Provides inspiration to be better modelers.
Terrific train show video, John! I especially enjoyed the comments from various attendees of their interest in model railroading. Quite a variety of approaches, techniques, and methods of enjoying the hobby. Well done!
Unfortunately, Mr Eyler (12:45 mark) had his vehicle broken into after the event and he lost many of his models. As of this comment, I do not believe they were found, nor were the criminals.
Nice!! Very cool video with a lot of great models. Ha ha Kev Caldwell, is a great modeler and didn't really get the showcase he needed, some of his models are world class. Butch is a master and a cool guy as well. I'd like to see more of Alvins work, from Wuttervehicles, do you know if he has a web site or FB? I also model the Rock in N scale and it's hard to find other's who do the same. Are you planning on going to the San Diego meet in October John? Thanks Dave B.
Wonderful models! There is however one thing that is completely ignored---the brake beams on the trucks! Because of the grades on my layout and the length of the trains, I had to put real genuine working brakes on my equipment---Infra-red controlled! If anyone is interested just reply and I will tell you how to do it. One car with brakes will hold itself and three others on a 4% grade. I use orthodontic elastics to pull the shoes against the wheels. It's not difficult! just has to be precise! Just reply if you would like to know how I do it.
Seems like a good show. Live up here in NorCal/Jefferson and I always seem to miss all the cool train shows and steam running events. I'll keep my eye out for it next year. Maybe I'll actually have a layout built to talk about!
