    Great restore Norman, I watched the whole series.
    As a note after installing expensive decals on cars. Spray the surface with Windex or other window cleaner and squeegee the decal on getting all the air out, move the decal around until it's exactly placed. Once the Windex dries you have a perfectly placed decal with no bubbles.

    Dude. Love the show...love the tractors. Subscribed after watching the first one. Fun, motivational (to get me to work on mine), and informative. Keep em coming!

    I have a 120 that needs a total restoration...some of the most relaxing/satisfying wrenching I've experienced was back in my early 20s working as a farm mechanic maintaining a fleet of tractors. I can see why you love this stuff. I'll be hitting you up when I start the restoration.....thanks.

    Great work :) You are really good at explaining how it goes together. It is really rewarding when a project is finished. I am the same way at shows I will let kids climb on mine as well. They seem to get a kick out of it and who knows it might inspire them to get into restoring mowers as well. I also like explaining the history and details of the mower when I get a new one in I try to learn everything I can about it and the company that built it. That is a job well done :)

    Great video, Makes me wonder how do you decide if a garden tractor is worth restoring. I just took ownership of a AC416H, at 80$ just for the K341 engine seemed reasonable but now Im thinking of a complete restoration and have to weigh the effort before I jump in. That rear end has me wondering if the time and effort are worth it or will I find something wrong with that hydrostatic transmission that can not be fixed. (For instance there is a little lever in the back that allows you to place the transmission in neutral, and that lever is stuck.. that is not a good sign).. Any thoughts are welcome on how you decide if a garden tractor should be restored or parted out.

    Does anyone know where I can get a decal set for an lt8 Ford mower?

  • @KingRatDog
    @KingRatDog 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Norman, a couple of questions for you.... Where did you source the decals? What is the make and model number of the hour meter you used? Did you use an hour meter in lieu of an ammeter? I'm restoring a 1966 Ford 100 and it had an ammeter on it originally. Thanks in advance for your help!

    • @Isavetractors
      @Isavetractors  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I get my decals from a lot of places. The hour meter is from isavetractors.com. I did use it instead of an ammeter. I find an hour meter more useful than an ammeter

      @@Isavetractors Thanks for the info. I appreciate it! I will keep an eye out for decals online. I will check out the hourmeter from your website. Thanks again and please keep these great videos coming!

    Hi, does anybody know where I can get decals for my old tractor? It is a 1975 MTD 990 hydrostatic transmission, with a hydro 3 point on the rear. Thank you!

    Hey Norman I'm working on a '67 Ford 100 and I've gotten a lot of parts from you, thanks! Is there a modern replacement for the choke and throttle assemblies? I've had a hard time cross-referencing those Jacobsen originals to anything available now.

    • @Isavetractors
      @Isavetractors  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Yes. We have universal type choke and throttle controls. all you have to do is modify the holes the mount to and you're good to go. Our choke cables fit into most garden tractors, and the throttle cables, sometimes you just have to drill new holes to mount it. It's all pretty straight forward.

    • @Joey-fw7ed
      @Joey-fw7ed 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Holes in the choke / throttle assembly or holes in the dash tower? I'd rather avoid the latter...

    • @Isavetractors
      @Isavetractors  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Holes in the dash assembly. Normally they just need slight enlargment. Most of the time, they fit fine, and occassionally they just need to be reaming less than a 1/16 of an inch. What tractor are you working on and what size is your hole? I can get a close match for you.

    I can't be the only one who thinks that thing sticking out by the front left wheel looks like a flower pot. If I had to replace that, I would seriously just find a steel flower pot the same size and modify it a little.
