Also, again with the Tornado-Launcher! You aren't forced to just stand there while you use it. You can still move around and even switch to a different weapon after letting out a tornado. The way you're using it is almost like playing a Sonic game without realizing you can roll into a ball.

With A Crack in Time the original working title was Clockblockers. That's pretty bad right there.
Another instance was one of the developers after Up Your Arsenal getting a letter from a fan's mother saying, "These subtitles are innapropriate for young players. Going Commando, Up Your Aresenal? what's next, "Ratchet and Clank 4: I Did Your Mom"?
I always find these complaints incredibly ironic. I mean, at the time, these games WERE rated "T" for Teen.
The comics are by far the worst/best for this. Also, @Lugbzurg: The games were all rated 3+ in the UK.
In a crack in time a radio station says talwyn’s dad ran away from tachyon with the girl Lombax from going commando. So he presumably found the lombax secret and now lives with them.
There are two big writing problems with R&C.
They drop and underuse side characters. They'll introduce a character, do nothing with them, then they'll just disappear.
They overused Dr. Nefarious. To the point of retconning him into the remake of the first game for no good reason.

i still remember this being sold couple years ago at our local gamestop for 40€. 40€!!
I used to hate the Tornado Launcher just like you, but after several playthru’s I forced myself to use it a lot, and now I love it, & the weapon that’s a lot like it in CrackInTime. There’s a huge learning curve on using it effectively, but once you learn, it can be devastating.
A two hour long interquel that was originally 15 dollars? that's a lot of money for so little content
+The Side Quest Gamer Eh. That varies from person to person, I'm sure, but I would say it's an enjoyable enough experience for only $15. Definitely the weakest out of the 4 though.

I always found Quest for Booty to be a decidedly worthwhile purchase, as I did...yunno, purchase it way back in 2008 with the only $15 I had to my name.
It was a fun little adventure. I didn't get all of the weapon mods the first time around, so I even played it twice.
I thought everything in the game was put together really well and the shootout when the ghost pirates invade Hoolefar Island was even hard for a twelve year-old me and would probably still be frantic and fun for a now me. The platforming and grinding sections felt really good and I enjoyed the way that the OmniWrench Millennium 12 was implemented. I'm actually really disappointed that that whole concept of the Millennium 12 was just kind of dropped after A Crack in Time.
My only actual gripe with the game was the lack of a Challenge Mode. I know that seems like a silly thing to be griped over, but it doesn't seem like it'd be that hard. Tuck away some rare bolts. Recycle some skins and the Omega weapons, add a prompt for a New Game+, script some appropriate enemy scaling. Viola, a little bit more replayability.
Yeah, I also never knew this game existed until I bought Into the Nexus. I went straight to Crack in Time from Tools of Destruction, and the into cutscene in CIT more or less sums up everything you need to know about what happened in Quest 4 Booty. I got the game for free with ITN, and I knew it was a 2 hour long interquel, so I was able to enjoy it for what it was. It's not anything I would spend PSN money on. Good review, sir.

I don't know if you have it over there, but when it came out there was a physical copy here in england that I bought, and I understood the story perfectly back then.
I actually found this more satisfying than Tools of Destruction. Even if the platforming is simpler (not that it's saying much tbh), it at least introduces a new mechanic (the helio-pod was pretty good). Also, getting to focus on single areas as much as it did here let me appreciate the world around me more than Tools of Destruction because, as glitzy as that game is, most levels were so stream-lined and ultimately short (not nearly as many branching paths that required back tracking as there once had been). I'll take this slightly slower pace where even swimming around in the bay at the start is fun to explore (despite nothing really being there besides some easter eggs. Also, I feel like there's about as much story here as there'd been Tools of Destruction, but maybe that's my bias thinking it was easily the weakest entry on that front to this point. Did nail the spectacle though. I actually like the final boss here better, Percival was like either he'd kick your ass or the fight was over in a minute in a half, no in-betweens, neither satisfying. Still wish they'd of given more to Talwyn, too. At least she was around more here, but then they just take her away after all this implied bonding time but whatever. Hopefully this new girl to the series fairs better than the last three have.

In the UK, this was one of a choice of 5 games we were given for free due to a security issue or network outage. I grabbed this - my first Ratchet and Clank game - and Infamous, downloaded them with my 76kbps download speed over several nights, and then beat this game in two hours. It convinced me that all Ratchet and Clank games were this short and so I never came back to the series. Infamous was fantastic though.
The older games are around 15 hours long (each), and they're a pain in the ass to finish, but it's still worth your time.
I actually didn’t mind the Six-axis Tornado Launcher thing. It was the least offensive inclusion of motion controls and always seemed to go where I wanted it to. I never had any issues with it and actually found it pretty helpful at times. I even used it after it was done leveling up.
I got this through Nexus too! Mostly because it took me until then to be interested in Ratchet in the first place... still got this hole in my experience between UYA and ToD though, despite owning two of the three games in that gap. (note to self: find "Size Matters" for PS2)
Get Size Matters on PSP. The PS2 port ruined it.
The alternate cover to All for One has some good ones. and "Going Commando" is the best one. Innuendo wise.

i hope that after they finish with R&C(ps4), they make another R&C game about what happened to max apogee and angela cross, and for me kinda wish they explore more about the kerchus in TOD
Unfortunately, I don't think Insomniac is ever going to revisit that saga. I mean, there's always a chance but I wouldn't get your hopes up.

You don't think they'll return to the old games' story or just the Future Saga?
If you mean the former...I think that really depends on how well the film does. I hope it does well but not too well, for fear of Insomniac never returning to the story I grew up with. Still pretty hyped though.
If the latter, Talwyn's inclusion in Into the Nexus leads me to believe that they'll keep her around in the games. After she kind of just didn't show up in A Crack in Time and then was brought back makes me think that she's a permanent fixture of the series in some way. Maybe I'm alone in that thought, but if the old story continues, I think we'll see Talwyn's father eventually and Angela by extension.
***** I was just talking about the Future saga. I mean, I would love for her to stay a constant but... I feel like Into the Nexus made it clear that the Future saga was ending. Of course, nothing is ever definite and there's always a chance Talwyn WILL return. But even if she does, I'm not sure if Insomniac will explore more of her backstory. I'm pretty sure the new line of Ratchet games will be based off the mythos of the new movie. I don't think she was in there but I could be wrong.
If I'm right, we might never see a conclusion outside of some spinoff. It'd be a great story arc to explore and I really do hope Insomniac proves me wrong.

Skipped out on this entry due to the fact it looked like absolute fodder to keep the shakes and cold sweats away until A Crack in Time came out. Also looked like Insomniac just wanted 12 bucks from me.
We need the 4 ps3 games brought to ps4 at 4K/60.
I believe it was a ratchet and clank title that i played at my friends house, it was basically ratchet with an arsenal of insanely colorful weapons and seemed to have been set in a space age/futuristic setting, any ideas as to what it is?
I'm not quite sure. From what I've seen of Full Frontal Assault, that's the closest game to what you've described.
