Having Isolée on there was really cool - I mostly know his newer, more alternative dance-stuff so hearing his is neat (and still has that abstract vibe to it)
I guess they thought that was the track MAARS sampled just like I did. The track is known for heavy usage of samples, and the version played there isn't the most recognizable to me. 3/5 btw.

Music from my era, those 15 years that my generation X knows everything about. But if I were to do such a blind test at some point, there would definitely be songs that Gen Y has full control over but not myself. Except for the Phantasia track, I’ve played every of the others plenty.

Phantasia- 'Innerlight' and 'Violet skies' are in my top 10 all time house songs. C'hantal is the vocalist. Also did a song called 'the realm'. Here vocals are sampled many times. 'Wrong is right'😉

So weird that I watch lots of genre on this channel and out of the hundred? songs I’ve listened to, Pump Up the Volume was instant for me. In fact I think I’ve recognized one other song ever! And my life has been music. Just not as a DJ.
It was a number 1 pop hit in the UK but - probably because of that - it became a bit overplayed and stopped being a club record. I suspect these DJs were in the age group that was too young to remember it when it first came out, but by the time it started showing up on oldies stations, they were old enough to be clubbing/DJ-ing in underground clubs where the newer stuff would get played.
