    im just now learning about this topic and thank you very much. i dont have the time for full classes but i cant help but feel that ANY knowledge is better than no knowledge.

    Would you bag the pt with a opa?

      Absolutely! When you are going to ventilate your patient with a bag valve mask you NEED to have some form of airway control. If they're conscious or semi conscious use the NPA, if they're unconscious attempt first with an OPA. Each airway is designed to aid in moving your ventilation to the lungs and not into the stomach. Without them your risk of ventilating the stomach increases, and we don't want to put air into the stomach ever!

      I like this one! YES unless obvious head or facial trauma is present and could be considered a contraindication.
