I think Transport Skyfarers also lets you use Redeploy to move a Skyvessel, and even if you only roll one inch, that is a non-charge Movement ability. If an enemy moves a cheap screen close to your strongest shooting to absorb Covering Fire, you could Redeploy a nearby Skyvessel, then pick up your guys, and place them closer to a different target. The ship won't be able to shoot (Because Redeploy counts as a Run), but the transported Duardin aren't stated to have performed the same kind of movement.
Transport Skyfarers is deceptively strong. This would take 2 of your precious CP, but I think it could be very worth it on reinforced Thunderers.
Also, Brokk Grungsson's Command The Fleet *does* work with the Frigate's Assault Boat Charge Ability. The standard Charge Ability has the same text where it says you cannot use it if you have used Run or Retreat Abilities. Brokk's ability ignores the Run limitation.
Yeah, I picked that up when I read the rules. Not sure whether I highlighted it enough in our video, so thank you for your write-up here. That redeploy is gonna be nasty 😁
Thank you guys! Waiting yuor reviews every day while painting new Seraphons
Can't wait to get to Seraphon!
Transport Skyfarers also works with the Power Through command ability.
I knew I was missing something in the opponent’s turn that wasn’t Counter-Charge! Thanks for the assist!
Sinse the ability for the endrineers formation is an extra artifact, it would be cool if the endrinmaster's ability was to use an equiped artifact twice in a battle.
That'd be amazing (and very strong)!
"assault boat" on the frigate is classified as a charge ability so I think there's a chance it works with "Command the fleet" on Brokk
Oh it might, yeah! Nice catch. Man, these simplified rules aren't simple haha
It will take a while to get used to how they are phrased and how they interact. But after that, this rules system should work pretty smoothly.
I would say this army looks more fun to play with, but especially more fun to play against now. I always loved the look and theme of sky pirate steampunk dwarves, but wasn't a fan of how they played.
I hope that the Gunhaulers have a small transport capacity as well. Even if it is just for 3 models in 1 unit. To carry a single hero or a small group of balloon boys.
The pictures that some players took of the quick rules reference sheet at the 4th edition preview events show that champions "add 1 to the Attacks characteristic of weapons used by [them]". Not just melee weapons. So champions with ranged weapons would gain the bonus for both.
Oh nice about the Champion! I’ll have to go back and look at it: could’ve sworn it just said melee, but there’s so much to remember that it’s entirely possible my brain stopped working then!
Very fast!
Sometimes it's a perk 😂
Would the Assault Boat ability work with Countercharge? Assault boat says: "your charge phase" but then again Countercharge says: "...as if it is your charge phase". I think that would be quite powerful if it works that way. What do you guys think?
I think it won't trigger, since countercharge acts like it is your charge phase, rather than giving you an extra mini one. I could be wrong though, but that would mean the ability only works specifically in your true charge phase.
Unless 4th just calls it "the charge phase" no matter who's turn it is. Then it should work :)
The reason I think it would work is that almost if not all spells they have shown so far say: "your hero phase". That would make the command to cast a spell in the enemy hero phase either almost useless, or that there are very specific spells that can be cast in "any hero phase" that we haven't seen yet.
@@СтилианСтоянов that I did not think of. You may well be right!
