A waft confirm from a perfect falling upair at the exact % needed - is one of the tightest timings + hard reads for a kill confirm you can ask for in Smash Ult. As Wario mains out there - we all felt that 🥺.
Not sure how much you follow him but from my pov lately he has entered a mindset of just playing who he feels like on that given day and not worrying so much like he usually does. I think it has helped his mindset quite a bit lately as he seems to be having more fun and stressing less, but obviously something changed game 4 and it wasnt enough to win the set sadly. (btw i dont have twitter so its possible he has a different explanation, I have just been a huge tweek fan since bowser jr and watch alot of his media)
@@chocomilkfps1264 yeah i bet often the more important question isn't which character you play, but your mindset and gameplay. Like, worrying about which character to play can distract you from focusing on execution, which is ultimately at the end of the day the biggest difference maker.
@@chocomilkfps1264 yeah I know he likes to play by feel, which I can’t fault him for, but its frustrating sometimes to seem him not put his faith into his diddy more often.
In my opinion that means the player should have lost anyways. If Gluttony lost games every time solely because he whiffed a waft, then he relies on a gimmick. That’s not true though, Gluttony solidly beats people like Leo. I think Tweek really should just stay Diddy if he wants to win, it’s his best character
@@pineful4861 exactly, not every loss can be attributed to a missed waft but in this case he literally would have won had he hit the confirm. If he hadn't found the landing upair with the full waft charged, then you wouldn't be able to say that he lost due to missing waft
just want to highlight: players like tweek they really like their "one-character that beats all" character and he talks about it a lot on twitter that he doesn't know what character he wants to use, and while diddy seems to be working for him, the end to this set is a showing of when said type of player sees that that character doesn't exist in the game and instead of improve fundamentally (like mkleo does) they instead remains more complacent rather then change that mindset cause they'd rather it be simple then find the character that matches them specifically. I think Diddy works for em, but just like a lot of people in the community, he gets very frustrated and irrationally annoyed at yk characters like pythra and steve to the point where he IS the type of player to pick those characters up because he wants to win so bad and he seems like those type of players who attaches "the type of character that fits me" to winning rather then whatever his specific actual strengths are, idk what they are cause im not him, but idk he did the same shit in smash 4 with cloud and then bayo. Recently with pyra mythra to0 and it didn't work so he changed to wario and PT. He's very desperately trying to find "that" character and its like this is why he stays the same and doesn't get better, its also not that kind've of game. Anyway im just putting this here cause I know all the Tweek fans gonna see it and I had my thoughts on this topic cause tweek has been like this since smash 4 and its kinda sad and funny to watch.
Yeah, Ultimate is just a different beast. I also think unless you solo main a particular character like R.O.B or Steve, you just have to accept that you may need to improve fundamentally if you really want to solo main a character. Because outside of Light's Fox and Glutonny's Wario, most other of the top 10-15 players all have multiple mains or super strong backup characters like an Aegis or Cloud. If they don't have multiple mains, they main characters like R.O.B (Zomba), Sonic (Sonix), or Steve. Just look at Leo's roster of characters. Spargo plays Aegis and Cloud. Kola loves Roy but still has a Cloud. Dabuz has a Rosa, Olimar, and Min Min, and will play them as he thinks is needed. Riddles likes Terry but will bring out Kazuya just as well. They all either play a strong solo character, or a roster that compliments their playstyle while also covering the weaknesses of their other characters. If Tweek just sticks with Diddy, while playing his Sephiroth and improving on Aegis, he might see more results. But he has to be willing to put in the work and not get impatient.
Before people come in here and cry about Pyra/Mythra, remember that Tweek was up 2-0 in the set and was playing a character who effectively only has to take two stocks in game 5. I agree. Doing a reverse 3-0 is really difficult and Cosmos definitely played out of his mind. Maybe not that waft whiff but janky stuffs like that just happens like that Kola F-smash whiff against Leo during Glitch. Leo himself also said on Twitter that these kind of stuffs just happens
Tweek always seems to have a decent plan going into a match and then falls apart when that plan doesn't go well. I hope Tweek is able to gain enough confidence in his character choices to keep a stable playstyle even if a plan goes awry. The Pokemon Trainer was looking nice. An issue with Wario is that Wario mains depend on waft to close out a game. Aegis has so many kill setups that they can close out a game no problem
Drop wario and focus on PT and Diddy seems to be a good idea, but yeah him tilting on the face of the earth is not new. He should really learn to not let his emotions get to him by now but easier said than done i guess.
Listen very closely at the end, you hear tweek yelling fuck at least twice, ive never ever heard him like that before, crazy to hear, i wonder what this tournament meant to him.
I’m tellin you man I’ve commented this on several other games since cosmos first picked up aegis, he’s the one pro who I’ve always thought was RIGHT THERE especially since he picked aegis up. Very happy he won this tournament. Stop sleeping on cosmos
I agree. He kept using Squirtle at high percents to get damage but didn’t work out. Should’ve trusted his Ivysaur and use side B to play a little patient imo
Corrin in smash 4 At the beginning it was a mix of PT and Corrin Then it was Inkling Then went back to Corrin And when Aigeas drop he said he gonna main her no questions
Man, I really wish Tweek would stick with a character. I'm happy to see him on PT and Wario again, but he's swapped mains a whole lot over the course of Ultimate's lifespan. He was finally spending a lot of time on Diddy, but he also spent time on Sephiroth, then Aegis, and now he's also breaking out Wario and PT again. We just need him to cycle back to Wolf and he'll pretty much have gone full circle. I imagine he didn't play Diddy in this match because he doesn't like the Aegis/Diddy matchup, but Tweek's used to succeeding because of his great fundamentals, and Gluttony's been succeeding with Wario before and since Pound because of his intimate Wario knowledge and experience. Gluto has played Wario so much that he knows exactly how to get bites and mix up and condition his opponent, he knows how to open up his opponent and score neutral air combos, etc. It's not like Tweek doesn't know how to do that, but the more you play Wario, the more those little setups become natural, like with LeoN using Bowser's side b in ways that surprised his opponents time and again a couple years back, and the less time in a match you have to spend thinking about them, which means you have more time to think further ahead on other things. Watching Tweek in this game 5, he was still playing well, but you could tell that he doesn't play Wario as often as Gluto does, and I really do think that that's one major thing holding him back from placing higher regularly.
It sucks cos it just shows how good he is to be able to perform with literally half the cast lmao. You can see how hard he works with his practicing but it just feels like he gets to that point where people start to figure him out and he throws all the plans he’s been working on for weeks/months out the window.
@@nanaakuoko9211 Yeah, that’s a good way to put it. I’m all for trying something new if the same thing isn’t working, and I often like it when players play the occasional wild card in bracket like this, but I really do think that Tweek’s shortcoming is his character diversity. And one could say that MKLeo is similar, but he’s used fewer characters for as long as Tweek has (and he’s just on his own level above everyone else).
As we learned from Gluto, there's no being lucky or unlucky, there's only good spacing and timing. Cosmos DI'd godly too. Maybe next time, Tweek, with less salt and more focus, I hope the next time you step into a tournament it's the Summit-winner Tweek.

Noooooo you spoiled the finals for me I hadn't watched them yet :(
@@leond556 sorry didn’t know they were as anticipated as the ending of the fuckin avengers lol wtf.. yes cosmos beats light last game. Sorry fam.
@@Lead.By.Example Maybe not as anticipated as the avengers, but I still prefer watching the finals without knowing who won.
Am I the only one who thought tweek used too much squirtle I personally think he should have used more ivy sense it's so easy for ivy to kill aegis
PT vs aegis is weird since squirtle destroys mythra in neutral but the other pokemons can’t play the game against mythra
I agree. He kept using Squirtle at high percents to get damage but didn’t work out. Should’ve trusted his Ivysaur and use side B to play a little patient imo
Squirtle does well vs mythra but he dropped a lot of bnb combos which kept him on squirtle longer. I def think he can use PT for this matchup though
@@thatman8636 nah ivy and zard can get bully by mythra really easy
@@jasonlobo2350 Key words there “at high percents”. Better to use the other 2 than dying at 100 or 112
The PT and Wario were still nearly enough but considering his record vs. Leo's Aegis I'm surprised he didn't go Diddy.
Cosmos clutched that!!!! Tweek didn’t lose, cosmos won. Great video 🔥🔥
Who did cosmos play before Pyra/Mythra release??
Corrin in smash 4
At the beginning it was a mix of PT and Corrin
Then it was Inkling
Then went back to Corrin
And when Aigeas drop he said he gonna main her no questions
He was an Inkling main before.
Inkling mostly
@@Minami1317 at the beginning he wasn't it was more of mix, then he found inkling (a bit of Corrin too) before aigeaa
Maybe next time, Tweek, with less salt and more focus, I hope the next time you step into a tournament it's the Summit-winner Tweek.
i think people think cosmos is still sorry and he’s not
Twekk is great with Pokémon trainer. I hope he use him more.
@@Yoyomo124 Both imo. Those are his 2 best characters and in the top 3 he enjoys the most (along with Wario).
Can we agree on the fact that Gluto would have landed that waft setup ?
why would tweek change for wario?

Felt like tweek was bribed to not win the way he was performing with PT
Watching Tweek's Squirtle, I'd love to see his Mario.
Is that Tweek yelling in the background during the commentary after the match? Poor guy.
Yup
That should’ve been tweek in winners semis man
I feel you tweek
Anyone that knows how tweek plays knows he has a tendency to choke under pressure.
Comona's shirt is so clean
let’s go angry tweek
Cosmos wasn’t even playing! Lmao
Zero smash attacks?
12:23 👀
Really good set super upset tweek didn't win but ik he'll win if they play at summit
Here to see what nairo was talking about
same lol
timestamp is 10:05
PT and wario!?!?!? bruh this 2019 tweek!?!?
I hope he's realizing that this is him at his best, just playing who he finds fun (and viable, ofc)
So everyone just talking about the commentary and not how we just got a reverse 3-0 smdh
