Zomba has this big problem he does amazing until he loses where he then loses again in the very next set. one look at pgstats and this pattern is very obvious for zomba. monocon, smash con, double down, glitch infinite, rise n grind, genesis 8, and now shine. like everything is exceptional, except for his mental state. He's got it all there. he just needs to have confidence in his own skills.

Wow, Cosmos really looked like he was going to get 3-0d near the end of game 3. Amazing that he came back from that -- great stuff. Cosmos was also behind for most of game 4, and managed to rob it. It wasn't until sometime in the middle of game 5 when Cosmos started to go crazy and open up a big lead.
It's pretty funny when they call Zomba out for his stupid reaction to getting KO'd by the f-tilt at the ledge in game 5. Yeah, that f-tilt is going to kill at the ledge when your character is at basically 130%, and when you get outplayed by Cosmos outspacing your ledge attack.
Pretty sure on twitter he said he was mad because of the mis inputs he made which is why he lost. I think he had his hand up because he didn’t mean to do a get up attack.
Zomba just loses to every top aegis man. I think hes shown a lot of good improvements in the punish game, getting a lot of early stocks. Just couldnt make it count in the end.
Bro no joke I was crying too when Zomba lost that set. Game 3 and 4 were extremely close with only *minor* misinputs that led to Cosmos taking the games. Zomba worked his ass off last tournament and this tournament but fell short by one set in both. To put it in perspective, Zomba has placed 3rd, 3rd, 9th in his past 3 majors. Higher placements than the two that got the summit spots. Cosmos placed 25th, 17th, and 17th in his past 3 majors before his 1st place finish here. Anathema placed 17th, 17th, and 33rd in his past 3 majors before his 2nd place summit qualifier at Rise and Grind. Zomba's clearly the better player overall, but against those individuals he couldn't clutch it out. Anathema has never placed that high before and Cosmos has only placed that high one other time. They both got very, very "lucky" to break out in these two specific tournaments. Zomba wanted the summit spot so bad. The saddest moment I've ever seen in Smash history...
Well 2nd at SWT 2021 and 4th at GOML 2022 is nothing to scoff at either for Cosmos. Feels a little disingenuous to say he's only ever placed that high once before.
@@TheZexal I was referencing the most recent tournaments and do not mean to take away from the amazing play Cosmos (and Anathema) did. They played superb and their summit spot was well deserved. I only checked Cosmos most 3 recent tournaments and recalled the first place he had from memory. I don't remember which tournament it was. My comment was more to say how these players have played recently and how consistent. They all deserve it.
@@izzygarnelo fair enough. Zomba has definitely been very consistent and Cosmos has been in a slump for a while. Hope Zomba gets his big break soon. He's a very good player, especially for his age, so he's got plenty of time to reach the top.
Cosmos has actually been so clutch this tournament

best commentary of the tourney: “that was the most nike back air ive ever seen, just do it” LOL i love haz and tk
18:27 zomba acting confused as if he doesn’t appreciate that he got outspaced and outplayed lmao
Commentators talk about it afterwards, too. This was close but Zomba got outplayed a bit lol.
I think he might've misinput the get up attack and was mad about it
man zomba is always SO CLOSE to winning the big one
he's got the next tournament for sure

@@kacheechang4667 you hit it right on the head. he absolutely has the skill, but once he gets his mentality locked down, he's going to win!
@@kacheechang4667 It’s kind of that but I think it’s simply bracket demons. His bracket demons are Light and every top level aegis.

I think he must have thought he didn’t do get-up attack. He had NO reason to be mad there so I at least hope that’s the reason.
