Thanks for your video! I lived in Malaysia in 2017 and can't wait to move back in 2023. I hope the cost of living will still be low. After working and living in 40 countries since 1990, Malaysia is one of my favorite places. I'll be settling in Penang and look forward to traveling around the country. For me, the only downside is the humid/hot weather but everything else is perfect!
Yes Linda we Malaysians feel the same about the weather. Some yearsss back our day temperature was around 28 C never exceed 30 C like now. What we normally do is to head to the hill stations like Cameron Highland, Genting Highland, Fraser Hill etc. It's much cooler up there. Without the trees cut down it's paradise.

Thank you very much for the correct information it follows that in Malaysia it is very cheap and additionally a beautiful country, I will probably fly there for a time
Malaysia is really underrated. Yes, we do get the most tourists in SEA, but those tourists are usually Singaporeans or Bruneians buying groceries or food-hunting in Malaysia. The rest of the world doesn’t even acknowledge our existence mostly. And the great thing about Malaysia is we speak English. In fact, we’re third in Asia with the highest English proficiency so you don’t have to worry about language barriers unlike traveling in China, Korea, Japan, or mainland Southeast Asia. Btw, kudos to you for promoting Malaysia to the world. You’re better at it than our tourism board.
If Malaysia would only make staying as an expat more accessible, I'd probably choose it over Thailand as a retirement base for the English-speaking alone. But last time I checked, they make it financially prohibitive for a lot of expats who want to stay for some years.
@@rhizomorph-music we have Make Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) program but the government decided to increase the requirements post-lockdown because God knows why. One of the requirements is that the applicant must earn RM40,000 (about US$10,000) per month. It used to be just RM10,000 (about US$2,500) monthly.
Its not like we get rain everyday here in KL, sometimes we get only once per week, so that still should be okay, but if the rain is too heavy, then you need to take precautions because probably will be floods in KL

G'day Damian (and Winny, home in Sanur)...a fabulous summary of "costs" to enjoy Malaysia. Once again, looking forward to your trip to Langkawi. As I mentioned a few days ago, I was there in the early 1990's and actually stayed at the then, Sheraton Perdana Resort, which changed names early 2000's to The Westin Langkawi Resort and Spa and is situated slightly east of a village/town of Kuah, it was, at the time, one of the very few resorts on Langkawi. It was a sensational resort then, but recent pics of The Westin indicate that it has improved even more...if you venture there during your visit, I'd be very interested in seeing what it looks like now, that is if you are able to enter the resort. Always a pleasure to sit back each evening and watch your latest vlog on my big screen TV....everything is larger that life! Cheers and safe travelling..Gaz
