Compare the average ATM straddle price for weekly expiry of Banknifty and Nasdaq for the last one year. Liquidity is very low for long term options in India and hence proper pricing will not be there. Also, it is difficult to believe that you can get higher premiums or returns in option selling in USA than India, since interest rates are higher in India

Margin is lower in general in US markets. That is one reason you can expect to make higher returns.

Options premium is not just dependant on interest rate... The most important factor here is how much volatile the underlying is..

  • @youchap

Mistake @10.01. The 9K puts in NQ is not PE. That is why the premium is high. The risk is high. If the buyer decides to exercise when you are not expecting.

In US options, no one with sane mind going to early exercise an option unless it is already "In the Money" or closer to it. Especially, for longer dated puts(or calls) its even less chance. Its better to not sell options if you confuse about these things.

There are certain Circuit Breakers for US indexes, where sudden fall of an index (say 5%, 7%, 10% not sure about exact numbers but you can easily search) would trigger and halt the trading of that index.
