A few things came to mind with this challenge.
1. What about building a wind tunnel? If you have a wall of drinking straws for the air to enter and a powerful fan at the rear, then you should be able to check the aerodynamics.
2. I don't know how much room is between the wheels and the tires, but if you left the body shell over the wheels it should be more aerodynamic and the shell less flexible.
3. Breaking. Add a parachute, I recommend one that a top fuel dragster uses. It'll give you breaking without using the breaks.
What you've talked about in this video.
1. Nice ESCs but allow some air to pass over them to cool them.
2. As the comments have been saying "What about the weight?" Out on the salt lake when they do their speed runs some people put more weight in the car for added traction. With your car it's not going to slow it down.
3. The rear wing. Carbon fiber 👍 maybe have an adjustment on it for a few degrees of trim?
But if you lower the front and raise the back then most of the downforce can be generated from the lower pressure under the car. But I'd still use the front splitter and the rear wing.
Also think about a vertical stabilizer on the back of the car.
4. Trimming the tires. Most the weight of a wheel and tire is on the outside and the faster you go the more centripetal force you are going to work with. Shaving the foam will help so much. But don't forget that the speeds the car will be traveling at will cause more aligning torque which will cause your steering to become less effective.
I reckon that you'll have a very good chance of breaking the record, but don't forget that the car is going to be cross between a F1 car and a top fuel dragster.

Wind tunnel is an epic idea!
You can try to make a servo-actuated spoiler, attached to chanel 3, so at first it is more vertical and then you lay it more flat so it has less downforce therefore less resistance. I have done that to my a959 and was able to get 90 kph.
Kevin Talbot just an idea, not sure if it will work but what about putting the ESC’s upside down with the fans **sucking air from underneath the car**, It worked for a couple fan cars, I think the Aston Martin valkeri is a fan car and an f1 car was as well, it helps suck the car to the ground for more downforce but I’m not sure if the esc’s will do the same thing or have as much as an impact
Edit: I havnt made rc cars yet so I’m not sure if it will work but I plan to make some soon :D

Only been following since the beginning of lock down, and wow!!! Enjoyed every minute!! My sun is autistic and has fell in love with rc cars. Thus was a God send, it's so difficult to get him out of the house and enjoying something. Rc cars and your channel has changed everything. Your not just making entertaining videos, the change in son fills me with tears of joy. Going forward I'm saving for an infraction, something I would of thought was crazy to do. Nearly £800 for an rc car!?! The smiles are worth it. Looking forward to seeing the new place and excited for the supercharging the lambo. 👍
RENT an Airstrip, a paved runway for an hour for the speed run. Smooth, clean, wide and super long to get a proper speed run.

On the speed run car, don’t cut out the rear wheel section. Leave them covered.

@@themausindahaus814 turbulence is created at the front and managed by the back so it would be like a 90s LeMans car. The Mc does effectively the same thing.

Few thoughts (rooting for you to have success btw)
1. Foams have 1/2 the traction of GRPs. Get your feet wet with GRPs and swap over to foams when you get comfortable going above 130mph.
2. No one going fast uses anything but castle ESCs. Bring a fire extinguisher with ZTW.
3. Cap packs don't add power amperage or voltage. They absorb oscillations aka ripple in the voltage. This reduces stress on the ESC.

You could contact a local university to do a 3D scan of the shell then run it through CFD. This will allow you to tweak the shell virtually to get the best possible shape then go to a different company to print/manufacture a new shell.

You need to look at the koenigsegg Jesko absolut as that doesn’t have a rear wing it just has rear fins for stabilisation at high speeds with reduced downforce

A couple of ideas designed to help but totally untested.
1. I’m with you on the rear wing having little to no down force as it’s for directional stability instead, so maybe a vertical fin similar more recent f1 cars? (They ran from rear end of Engin intake above drivers head, to rear wing) this will give very much more effective lateral stability and negligible drag.
2. Small fluctuations in body shell shape (flex / vibration) will have large effect on stability and drag. So maybe consider reinforcement to the shell as well as absolute seal on all leading edges.
3. Lift will be an issue on the inside of wheel arches, so maybe consider either vents in top and trailing end of wheel arches to release the pressures that cause this issue or a shell that wraps around wheels? Less gaps between chassis and bottom edge of shell will help too. Aim to have zero air entering inside the model as possible, but an open rear end to the shell to expel any build in pressure within it. Make shel as rigid as possible.
4. Wheel wise, maybe forget foam inserts etc and look at very low profile custom rubber, the whole internal surface of which, is bonded to the entire horizontal cross section of the wheel?
5. Someone mentioned ground effect and another stated that you’ll never find surface smooth enough for it to be a problem. I think that at these speeds and taking into account scale, ground effect will kick in. Maybe vents in underside of chassis but importantly feeding into vent system to expel air out of inner shell to prevent lift.
Remember, air resistance gets exponentially higher with speed. Ie. The faster you go, the more it resists

My son's Limitless has one of those TP motors, and at speed, it is stable... it just need more room to get up to it's top speed. It has never done it's top speed despite us trying on a go kart track with 400 meter straight.
We have gotten 145mph so far. There is more speed to be found in my son's Limitless. His wings are still on and untouched, and stock gearing. Just that TP motor and a mamba xlx, 6s 100c.
Let's see it run! I cant wait.

That house/land is awesome. With proper isolation I don't think you should have any problems... you can easily sound proof the studio and with a crawler/rc track in the back somewhere, that too shouldn't be a problem? Looks absolutely epic... can imagine it's gonna be hard to find something even better?

LEAMINGTON HOBBY CENTRE now closed, in last couple of weeks and suspect they are selling the property including, 3 runways, 1 tarmac!
Indoor climbing track, outdoor climbing track, racetrack, and medium sized lake, in the Midlands, but got all the stuff you'd need, and already has a HUGE RC shop and warehouse!!
