My current run on this is brutal. I have had to add an additional 5 exploration cards and have had to fight wights and skeletons, giant snakes.
I'm 8 or 9 rooms in with 5 or so cards left
    I'm about to leave lol.

Spoilers but I think I may as well! Have about an hour left to edit so it’s already been nearly 4 hours of this and I have about as many cards left as you do. Rough.

@@saveyourgame5578maybe no bad thing to show it, and the consequences, and how coming back stronger makes a difference! Given it seems like lots of people experience this kind of fail curve from the sounds of it!

So the Necromancer didn't just teleport one space; he teleported outside, raised a zombie, and teleported back inside one square over. And next turn, he didn't just move back; he secretly raise the the dead adventure as he moved. The dead adventure zombie just didn't get up until he was searched! Don't trust necromancers.

I love that explanation! Makes a lot of sense.

When you rested should the wandering monster have moved 3 times?

Ooooh yeah I may have missed that. I’ll double check.

That’s indeed what’s supposed to happen! Although as I scrubbed through the video quickly it seems like the monsters were already gone when I rested. Do you remember where this was?

Something I noticed in your playthroughs is that you don't close your doors behind you (it's very, very implicit in the rules), p. 78. This will slow down Wandering Monsters and help block their Line of Sight. Closing doors costs 1 AP and must be done while adjacent to them.

    • @saveyourgame5578

True! With the pressure of the marathon dungeon ahead, I haven’t thought to use APs to stay behind and close doors. In my head it slowed progress but the reality is it probably has the opposite effect. More battles does that more than anything! I should definitely start doing so though. Especially with how pesky those wandering monsters can be!

@@saveyourgame5578 I totally agree; wandering monsters can be a pain in the... And you can catch up relatively quickly with a double movement and be back in the mix again, especially with a Ranger. Love your commentary and sarcasm sprinkled in with those frustrating dice rolls.

I'll be playing this game with 3 other people...does the combat drag or are there ways to streamline it at all? I think the game looks great, just a little nervous the combat will be a slog.

From watching plays, think rolling all dice (diff coloured) at once helps speeds it up. So can see at one glance if hit, where hit, and damage.

David’s right! That would good way to speed things up. It’s even suggested in the rules a few times. I do things one at a time to keep my mind straight. As you can tell from all the footnotes I tend to get a little scatterbrained so going step by step helps.

It really depends on how lucky you get with encounters too. Sometimes you can face a single skeleton and other times it’ll be multiple baddies. I also think it could go quicker for you since you have multiple players. Having to think differently for four different heroes can slow things down for me! Just depends on your players though I guess.

I was thinking to place markers on monster and ch. cards/sheets vs putting them on the table. Waiting to get this game.
