Well being a fellow stroke sufferer mine happened on Christmas Eve last year. I understand your difficulties. Currently on my old gaming laptop. I'm using Catchy OS on it and to be perfectly honest, it's been much better experience in Linux than I've had in a long time. I go back to Linux to the early days in the late '90s early aughts. It has come a long way from what it was to now and to be honest I don't even want to look at Windows ever again if I can. My only problem at the moment is there's one game that works fine on cachyos but the mod is giving me problems. Otherwise I have no use for Windows. I tried CachyOS, still have it installed on my other drive but tried Vanilla Arch with Hyprland and it runs just as fast and actually lower and stable frametime graphs than CachyOS, at least with the games I played. CachyOS seems pretty good, but it has some things I hate, I dont like fish, alacritty, etc. and those are forced.
congrats mate , i myself made the right choice by sticking to MX Linux 23.3 on my main rig and am loving it day in day out does what it say on the tin . my secondary pc is using Debian 12 . bookworm , and i am loving it day in day out as well but cachy os requires you to have internet connection which i have to install it ,,why would any os require you to have internet connection just for you to install the os ???? i mean really i have never had this issue with linux before i really want to try cachy os on my secondary pc ...is there any way around cachy os install offline mode ???? thanks

Older games are better then the new garbage, especially when it comes to "AAA" type games.
