Lots of companies do Submariner homages e.g. Steinhart, Davosa, San Martin, etc. So no real controversy. It is just that Ginault has done it better than anyone else.
Go to the website ... on the foot of the website there should be a email, for you to contact directly to ginault, they reply super quick and tthere you can ask for the newest ginaults
I communicated with John, from Ginault, yesterday. He is a very nice man. He and his partner are working tirelessly to get the Phase 2 orders delivered no later than October, 2021. They have also received the new, blue bezels; and they are overjoyed with the way they turned out. After I clear a couple of other final obligations from my plate, I will be placing an order for an Ocean-Rover 2 with the blue ceramic bezel.
Yes. Some people will turn their nose up at homage watches but who cares. You are quite right. If you enjoy the watch. Just enjoy it and let the snobs do their own thing. I love my homage watches. I love Rolex watches but i cannot justify spending that amount of money on a watch. I love my Steinhart, my Cronos etc and will continue to do so. Those who judge people on what they wear on their wrists really need to get a life. Enjoy your lovely watch my friend🙂👌
Beautiful, stunning piece that dreams quality. What woud put me off purchasing a Ginault, and specifically this Ginault, is the adverse press the Ginault company has had and the lack of info about the company.
That’s great to hear!! Im totally ij love with my OR2, there are some changes i would do but over all very very awesome watch! Stay tuned for mu review! Im editing right now!
It’s look so nice I just pre-order one two days ago I hope I’m not going to regret it ! About the squale 40 mm gmt before and it was have many quality issues Nice video video good camera angles well done😊
Hi -- great review. I want one too! What is the reference number for this watch? I find the ginault website confusing...which did you purchase? Thanks!!!
Hi Andy , when you say say that the colour of the lume is different in person than in the videos what did you mean? Did it exceed your expectations ? Was it better in person than from a video /photo ?
What I found strange is that the website says that cal.7275 is an exact CLONE of ETA2824. A CLONE? I don't know there is little information about the company. They seem to be hiding. For $ 1500 it might be better to take a Sinn 144 or a CW C60 elite 1000 with a cosc certificate. Really the quality of the OR is unquestionable, but what about the interior? If it really is an ETA or a Selita inside, the value is great.
It is a eta, they just dont have this modle yet in the website! You can only order it via email! ... maybe i will someday open up this baby and see whats inside... but i really think it is an eta, i dont think theyd risk it just to say is an eta when everyone could open up the watch and see whats inside with their watchmaker
The watch screams quality, thank you for doing this video. Ordered the blue one recently, but may switch to black. How would you say the clasp and foldover latch feel? Is there any wiggle room in the foldover latch?
HEY thanks for the comment! Im glad you ordered one! The clasp for me has been superb.. it is not too big or uncomfortable, it feels pretty solid there is no wigle or jangle every thing fits perfect and closes perfect... in this case with mi watch.
I can see no difference in build quality or finishing between my BB58 and Ginault Ocean Rover. None whatsoever. The difference between my SD4000 and Ginault is minimal. I think some people feel that they need to say that they can see/feel differences just so they don’t get any lash back from watch snobs
Beautiful watch, but looking at the price of 1500$ its too expensive for me. ETA 2824 is the best movement you can get, but its best bought under 1000$. I bought a victorinox infantry 40mm with the same movement for 400$ and after 2 years still happy with the purchase. That watch ended my obsession with the rolex and tudors.
Indeed my friend! I was very scared wen i pick it up in the mail, but fortunately i got the watch! Actually i spoke to ginault about this and they responded me so well and fast, Jon is going to send me a new screwdriver! He’s so great!
The box is not leather, its synthetic. A Steinhart for half price is also wrapped. Concentrate on the watch, the trimmings are irrelevant. Why don’t you discuss “hand built in the US” claim, with an ETA movement ? Nothing about that watch is made in the US. I really don’t care if its made in China, but you are contributing to the perpetuation of a well-established lie.
Sorry i dont want to offend anyone with my observations. I just enjoy this watch for what it is, don’t care if it’s made in the us or in china, i think that it is a well made watch thats it. It does have the ETA. Im not contributing to anything i don’t care of the mal practice this company IF their is any... because i not sure or know for a fact so i dont question that. And stienhart, i know that they do make a great watch and i want to do a review of those too. I cant talk about them because i haven’t seen one in person. Sorry if i offended you thats not my objective with this videos!
@@AndySTWT both Steinhart and Ginault cases are made in China, but who cares about that really, when the item is high quality. Difference between those 2 brands is you can actually visit Steinhart and they talked about their asian manufacture in the past, while Ginault is shady as hell, can't even pin it on the map. I wouldn't be surprised if that movement inside is actually an asian clone, since ETA does not sell their stuff to creepy microbrands. What I'm saying is I would make sure their claims are true (in regards of movement and built in usa tag), if I bought an expensive watch from a shady business, before I endorse that brand to other potential customers. That, unless you got sponsored by them, which I'm guessing is not the case.
