Disney Marathon Weekend - 2019 Half Marathon

- This only took me a year to put together.
I was determined to finish this Race Recap before the next Marathon Weekend begins.
This was the hardest Half Marathon I ever finished.
This race capped off, not only a year of running every Disney race, but after three weeks battling the flu.
Join my friend Karen - aka Coach Karen "A Sometime Athlete" and me dressed as Donald and Daisy as we battle the 13.1 mile course on a muggy, warm January day.
Now, I can put 21019 with it's multiple illnesses and a broken foot behind me!

This is just what I needed on a quarantiney stormy day. Haven't gotten to run diz yet but I love and miss Disneyland and races deeply so this was a big mood boost today. your race vids are my fave.

But what I loved the most is that this video is 33minutes long. Love longer videos.

Thank you SL ... it's not easy editing 33 minutes ... especially dealing with TH-cam copyright issues. Thankfully I don't monetize. Did you know even the natural sound .... NO added track of the "He's A Tramp" playing on the mile marker 5 just before MK is a copyright BLOCK... nearly worldwide. I had to scrub out all but about 4 seconds. Crazy
@@RezRuns yes, it's happened to me with the natural sound before :( On my Newport Liberty Half Marathon vlog, Take On Me was playing for a few secs and they flagged it. It's annoying but it's not really TH-cam, it's whomever owns the actual song that 'forces' youtube to flag a video. I think! Whoever it is, it's annoying. But I don't monetize either so they released it for publication after a few hours. I feel your pain, races have a lot of background music that you have no control over
@@IRunThings Crazy... they wound't release the Peggy Lee version of He's A Tramp ... even after it sat privately for 48 hours.
@@RezRuns oh wow. Mine was a few hours. Maybe it has to do with who owns the copyright?
Well done! I know how hard it is to run through leg cramps, but you persevered. Good job! You'll be awesome running Goofy this weekend!!
Thank you... I hate the leg cramps. It seems to be a constant problem for me! (just go look at my first video in 2016 LOL) I'm ready ... anxious and excited for Goofy!

I also ran a half after not really training due to illness (pneumonia) and it was brutal. Good for you and what a testament to your willpower! Great job!
It really is hard to run after being sick... there was a moment of Drama during this Half where I turned to Karen... and said ... go on without me .... LOL I'm glad I finished. I'm also glad I didn't get sick this year.

Work!?!?! Fun. If I actually had to work for either Disney or runDisney I don't think I'd enjoy it as much. It's nice to be able to do these for myself ... and a few of my friends (like you.)

Hey always a great job with your videos sorry to hear about burning out on making them aka in the Video. You do a great job and inspire so many people to do RunDisney Races. I'm taking a year off from RunDisney but perhaps Dopey 21 I'll see you than. Good Luck Next Week and stay hydrated!!!
The burnout is because of my visual impairment... they're not easy. I can fully understand taking a year off from runDisney... I may have to do that at some pint ... otherwise it gets a bit stale... plus there are so many great races out there. See you in 21.

Good Luck with Dopey... you've got two extra days to keep moving. Keep an eye out for me ... we will be doing a meetup on Friday at about 3pm Boardwalk near ESPN ... if you get a free moment. Otherwise ... keep an eye out for Pongo or Gaston. We haven't decided which race for which yet.
This definately keeps me motivated for the 36K challenge in September. I cannot wait, hopefully see you there!

Didn't run last years half as I did the full. And was definitely a warm race weekend.
The days are near to 2020 WDW Marathon Weekend and looking for to run the Goofy.

Good luck this weekend. We are thinking about coming up Sunday to cheer everyone on this Sunday. We have never saw a race from this perspective.
It's a lot of fun. I did ChEAR squad last January for the Marathon. I actually shot a video, but I've run out of time to edit before this race weekend starts. :(

@@RezRuns I wouldn't worry about dislikes. The internet is full of trolls. If you look at all the top youtubers they get hundreds of thousands of dislikes. It just kind of comes with the territory of being famous. ;) Besides you get way more supportive comments than dislikes anyway!
