  • We have now completed stage 2 of this epic F250 build.
Having a brand new 2022 F250 XLT come into the workshop, our team got to work and created the most practical and tough F250 imaginable.
We have a video of stage 1 down the page if you are interested where we explained the initial suspension install along with removal of interior seats for templating, bar work to the front and some spotlights for the initial shakedown trip.
After a gruelling 3000km initial trip this truck came back full of red dirt and was certainly "tested" in the outback.
Stage 2 was a massive list of upgrades to make this one of the best driving F Trucks to come through the workshop. Having an AUSMV conversion meant we could use whatever suspension upgrades we felt necessary and made upgrades both in the front and rear of the vehicle which is now ready to tackle anything it points at.
We dropped the vehicle to GCI Traytec where the tray and removable canopy was installed along with the Clevershade awning. They also assisted in the rear 12k Warn winch install which may be needed where this truck intends on adventuring to.
The Big Dog Builds Accessory Rack was fitted to the roof of the vehicle utilising factory mounting points and is home to the 4 x Stedi 13" Worklights along with the 50" Curved LED Bar to the front. We have also installed 2 x 26" rear worklights all controlled through the Switchpro SP9100 switching unit. This unit allows for a fully customisable setup which includes dimming features, smart battery protect, strobe / burst modes and is has external triggers from ignition and high beam allowing for a fully legal install.
Swapping the average XLT front lights to Morimoto LEDs has changed the drivability at night and when the massive amount of LED / HID lights are turned on with high beam the output turns night into day.
Three main components to think of when touring remote is 1 - Power 2 - Water on Board and 3 - Air on Board.
The GCI Traytec tray has a massive amount of water storage being 145litres split into 2 x tanks which runs through a high pressure pump.
The canopy houses 200ah of lithium with plenty of 12v outputs along with a 2000w Enerdrive inverter with 240v GPOs throughout.
We have installed 2 x Viair compressors along with an 11L stainless air tank and an Airbagman Pressure Control setup which means tyre inflation, airbag leaf helper inflation is all operated by the switchpro and wireless controller.

We look forward to building your ultimate truck and are here to assist with the whole build.
