I had that back in school. I had no friends, and was pretty much in the same shape poor Lydia’s in. It was horrible. The kinda thing you’d never wish on anyone.
I had no friends either, but I wasn't laughed at very often because most of the other girls were too busy being dunked in the toilet whenever I ran into them. Don't want to get that water in your mouth, best to keep it shut.
Yeah,😪 people don’t always appreciate what that is, or what it means. In this day and age, between smartphones and mass shootings, it’s really getting to be taken for granted.
@@jackphillips3354 I also agree that if there were less mass shootings people would appreciate the relationship of Lydia and Beetlejuice from the 1989 show
I watched this show as a kid, so when I saw the movie a while later, I was incredibly confused. Seems cartoon Lyds has the same relationship movie Lyds had with the dead couple.

Lydia and BJ are healthier minded versions of their film counterparts. BJ is more of a mischievous imp than a villainous demon. While this Lydia embraced things strange and unusual as a means to give meaning to herself, rather than it just being a quirk like in the movie.
This is heartbreaking to watch, Beetlejuice was the only one who understood Lydia. without him she would be depressed. And not able to live, this is exactly why Lydia needs Beetlejuice.
The good news about this episode is sure the neitherworld would be better off, but Lydia would have been miserable. It’s always the ones who love you the most who would be unhappy without knowing you
It should have depicted Claire as being even meaner and more vicious than she usually is, since this version of Lydia is too much of a doormat to stand up to her.
Not really Claire would be the same the only difference is that her minions Bertha and Prudence who aren't Lydia's friends in that alt universe, they would be the ones tormenting Lydia

Wow... I never thought that Lydia would be the one to suffer without Beetledude in her life (Poor Gothie's tormented by her Mindy: Claire.). This makes me wonder what it would be like if Grim succeeded in making a wish in "A Dumb Wish" without Mandy stealing and abusing the two remaining wishes. He might've wished that he won that Limbo game for Mr. Snuggles' life without Mandy's cheating. I think Grim would either enjoyed his afterlife or regrets making the wish, like Beetledude here in this particular episode. What do you think?
Because this is an alternate reality where Betelgeuse never met any of their friends in the show. Lydia never meets Betelgeuse, so the confidence she normally has is nonexistent.
you really think a kids cartoon is gonna depict the film version of their relationship? you smokin something silly. Tim Burton worked on the show as well.

I'd actually wish to never be laughed at. As for being lonely, I'd manage.
you should have summon a ghost to give you confidence then, is not that hard, you just have to say its name 3 times

Huh. I thought Lydia would be dead if she never met Beetlejuice. Not just dead inside, but having killed herself to see her dead mom.
They couldn’t do that in a series targeted at children.

'You put the Con in her Confidence.' Damn, isn't that a cool line!
OR, as Ray Charles had put it, “And I think to myself, ‘what a wonderful world!’” A bittersweet acknowledgement.
*Louis Armstrong.
Louis Armstrong sang What a Wonderful World, not Ray Charles

This is... a certainly different relation dynamic from the movie.
Thankfully
It’s a different universe like most tv shows from their first original movie
More like best friends in the cartoon
congrats for being the 1,000,000th person to think this
This is one of my comfort shows along with Star Trek the original series, Harry Potter, and bluey

The kind of depression is way too palatable

Completely unrelated but the background music sounds really similar to the background noise in baldis basics (in my opinion I could be wrong)

Also I'm going to say this, why did the teacher yell at the class to knock it off. Like she just sat there and did nothing about it.
Nor the Maitlands by the way.
