- This re-edited video is for beginners/mid-level players or those who are still on the fence with CTE Aiming. The concept really works and if you put the effort to learn it, your shot-making could improve dramatically! I slowed down the instructions so now you can really understand how CTE works!
Almost gave up learning cte until you simplified. Took a year to learn. Thanks
This is a great video. I've been studying CTE aiming over a year and I really appreciate your interpretation of the system. My game has definitely improved since watching your videos and this last video just nailed things home for me. Please keep up the great work.
Any system that requires an "interpretation" is no system at all.
Not sure what your saying......watch any CTE video over and over and when you truly understand , apply it to a real table
and practice like hell. Once you really know it, you will be surprised!
Thanks - this is the best video I've seen yet on cte. At least for folks just trying to digest the concept IMO.
a tip: you can watch movies on Flixzone. Been using it for watching lots of of movies recently.
@Rayan Wade yea, have been watching on Flixzone for since november myself :)
@Rayan Wade definitely, been watching on flixzone for years myself =)
Thank you, Howard! I finally got this system after a few training sessions.. For me, pivoting is absolutely necessary to wider/extreme cut shots, instead of using it for A/B/C cuts (it just works better for me). That being said, I beated my rival with ease, also long rail bank shots are not that difficult with this system, and I really appreciate your dedication. Greetings from Italy, thank you
A video will only give you guidelines....banking is not my best suit, but making difficult shots is key.....keep at it!
@@howardberger3676 Short rail bankings are pretty much easy using CTE, it doesn't matter how much is the angle of the shot.. I manage to pocket banks at 90% percentage at the moment, the trick is to use a moderate speed
@@howardberger3676 Anyway, I'm actually using pivot for every shot, the most common mistake someone could make is to over pivot the shot, even with the back hand, so it's just about pivoting a little bit
Why do we have to line up center cue ball to edge of object ball? Can’t we just do our 1/2 tip off set and shoot at A,b,or c . Thankyou
What your doing is called a "visual sweep" which is fine and that is what I do. Move right into the 1/2 tip offset position, aim at A, B, or C and then shoot!
very nice Sir!... i really learned a lot and i really need this technic. Superb! God Bless.
Does the A B C aimpoints always remain Left to right or does it change depending on what side of the shot line cue ball is on?
Why didn’t you pivot on that second to last shot you made the …./1/8 inch cut?
SO CCB TO OBE IS JUST TO LINE UP YOUR FEET?
Left foot behind the CB.. Line up the shot using half tip offset aiming at 15,30 or 45 deg. Pivot to *CCB and shoot
@@howardberger3676 what’s the purpose of CCB TO OBE. Is this to be just looked at, aimed at what do once you line up CCB WITH OBE?
Thanks for your responses.
@@darryllynn3886 he doesn't answer to important questions you marked some aim point shots on table and check
For example u need to 8 position like fractional aiming system
Im sure you can find the answer
Why do we have to go center cue ball to left edge? That’s the part I do not understand. Why can’t we just line up half tip offset to b and shoot? What does to center cue ball to left edge accomplish why are you and bother with it what’s the purpose
You don't..that is called "visual sweep". This means you start from the CB 1/2 tip offset(from CCB) and then aim at AB or C. Once you line up with one of them depending on the angle to the pocket, move to CCB and shoot!
Thanks for the videos. I appreciate the time and effort you put into them. With that said I would like to ask you if you could make a video on how to determine wich aim line should be use? I see you using the aim lines but you don't explain how you get the very essence of the beginning of the shot.
I'm not trying to be an ass here,ok. I'm just saying that I see you making a shot saying the aiming line is this and so on but don't say how you got there to begin with. I hope you understand what I'm saying cause I'm not trying to upset you or anything, ok. Thanks for the video.
Aim at the A,B, C lines from 1/2 from CCB .......then pivot to CCB and shoot. Please watch latest video CTE Aiming "Soup to Nuts"
You look at the whole shot and look at the angle, if it looks like 15 degrees then you aim for a. On the object ball. Pivot and shoot
Thanks again for all your efforts, really appreciate it!
I just don't get why if you are already visualizing lines, why not just visualize aiming your cue through the center of the ghostball?
You have a choice.....ghost ball is one system, this is another. Sometimes CTE is better as it aligns up the aim without trying to find out where the contact point is in ghost ball aiming.
what tip diameter do u use..? seems that tip diameter is crucial determining pivot in 1 tip offset ccb to 1/8 obe cutting thin shots..i always ended up thick shots..
Thanks👍
What does the offset mean?
You aim at 1 tip from center cue ball. Thats called an offset from CCB.
@@howardberger3676
I don't understand one tip left one tip to the right one tip up one tip down
Ok when aiming to an aimline of 15,30 or 45 degrees your aiming from 1 tip (either left or right) from Center Cue Ball which is an "offset" postion. Then bring your cue to CCB and shoot! Easy!
Thanks for your slo mo. I found this the easiest CTE to follow so far. I noticed on your previous lessons you talked about edge to A,B C while this one which i find easier uses the half tip pivots. How do these two relate?
Howard how do we know exactly how many degree shot we have? I mean if the shot is let’s say between 40 and 50 degrees then what do you do? Guess?? Thank you Steve
The degree is the OB angle to the pocket. Straight is O, slight cut is 15 deg. Look at a protractor and you can see angles. If it's a sharp cut shot it could be 60 or more degrees and that would be a1/8 OB aim point.
@@howardberger3676 exactly right
All the shots are same 15-30-45 and 60°
Porfavor es posible poner subtítulos en español, su enseñanza es muy valiosa. Saludos cordiales

Hi, at min ute14:20, you aim CCB line to OBRE- then offset to 1/8. What do you mean by offset? does it mean that you move your stick parallel to the original line till aiming at 1/8 ? After that you pivot back to center of CB. Kindly clarify.
The offset is 1/2 tip from CCB. From this offset position you aim at the 1/8 point.. Then go to CCB and shoot..
If this video would have been shot (looking down the cue), I might have understood it! I KNOW IT IS HARD TO SET IT UP THAT WAY, but even doing it on ONE SHOT, would help ANYONE TO UNDERSTAND IT! PLEASE PLEASE Do another video
with at LEAST "ONE" SHOT aiming down the pool shaft. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE,
Not sure what your missing? Please note that this is a serious budgeted video....I am using my Galaxy 9 Phone so what you have is just about it. With 10 video's out there by me and another 100 else elsewhere you shouldn't have any serious issues!
this 1/2 tip offset ccb to 1/8 ob makes me struggle cutting thin cut shots..almost always ended up thicker ..does tip diameter matter..what tip do u use Howard.?

I want to understand the perception please make us a vedio of perception
good. slow it down please. 💙
If your seeking more instruction, there are about 10 other video's I have out.....check out last one CTE Aiming -Another View
Howard Berger oh good. I am going to play tomorrow night.
OK ..Watch my video's and run 'em out!
G,day people .John from Australia . I would like to comment that in oz our tables are not square cut pockets and any ball that hits the cushion before entering the pocket will not go in .so what I'm saying is on our tables a lot of those shots would not have entered the pocket .That out of the way I'll try the system, cheers players John.
Howard,I just tried your take on cte and found it much easier on the brain from the cte I've been trying to use . Looking forward to practicing with it .Don't worry about the players who don't like it ,without people like u Howard I wouldn't go on utube 👍🏻😀
That's why I don't play in Australia or China!
8:43, that's a miss on 4.5" corners. . The shot before that looks like it just cleared the tip of the bottom facing too.Sorry, pivoting is such a bad habit and a bad form. It will ruin so many beginners. They need to learn to go down on the shot line with their body and cue in the stroking line.
If everyone who are in pool, erase away their pool aiming, then go into snooker and get a proper coaching from the fundamentals of aiming, stance, stroke etc.., then go back to pool. They will immediately find that these CTE methods are simply an "over engineered" set of 'guidelines' to help estimate their aim. It's RARE to see any pool video on proper aiming & shooting technique.
Pivoting is very confusing
After going through proper coaching in Snooker and trained your proficiency in the game to a certain level, almost every good snooker players knows that to be accurate, the visual aspect of aiming doesn't hold that much of a percentage vs a proper walking into the shot, a proper stance, a very good stroke and cueing technique, where you hold the cue, how to deliver the cue... all these hold a major percentage towards potting or not potting compare to how good you aim at the shot. I don't know Thai language, but watch how this Thai snooker coach demonstrates: th-cam.com/video/QPW4rTRQYsk/w-d-xo.html
@@briantan2963 totally agree.
Simple to let only your back hand move to CCB .....how hard is that?
This is pretty much a bowling on a pool table. It has nothing to do with a real pool playing, especially with cue ball control and positioning. All those fractals like 1/3, half a ball or 2/3, or 3/4 are pure guessing. The only spot that will make a ball to go into the pocket is right the opposite of the pocket. Period. With style like 15:20 you will never achieve any progress in the game, ever.
Nonsense......CTE is very precise and ONLY if your using the system correctly you can understand. It has improve my shot making capabilities maybe 30%.
6 to 7 inches or 67..FFS
Number 76 👎🏻 that's me
Yes I said WORST
Thanks, one of the worst CTE videos on TH-cam
