@@Sheldinator yea I think it just depends on your style of bashing, for guys like us who do alot of jumps and stunts couple rocket fans and were gold, the people that complain are usually who rip through big open fields full throttle, that will def heat up the motor, I don’t bash like that so I don’t have issues with most motors🤙🤙🤙

So you were still able to get all four screws under the truck? Debating on pulling the trigger on this motor because I got the max6 G2 and it cogs with the stock motor. But I do not want to change the mount because this is by far the best motor mount since it supports the entire motor. Also I wish this motor was lower KV. How’s it running? I don’t really want my truck any faster. It’s 18/50 gearing now so I may have to drop down to 17/50.
@@SVCprints yep! Stock motor mount is the best, cheapest and lightweight mount you will ever find. Yes 4 screws are mounted the same as stockmotor. Only thing required is drilling a hole in the motor cap for the motor to sit into the plastic mount. The old hobbying motors are recomended for easier installation as those ones are a tad shorter and will fit easier. G2 will still fit, but its a tighter fit as its a tad longer. Hope this helps! @@Sheldinator I'm still prompting to know how to accurately locate two protrusions of the rubber motor mount on the plate of the motor? Hope I make myself clear.

@Sheldinator did u need any modification or additional shims/spacers to fit the stock rear endbell to the 1650kv? I have the firma 1250kv i believe they share the same internals
@@ajdvra8857 hi there ! Not really., you will be unlocking a new set of gear ratio range when changing to higher kv. Since its a faster motor, the gearing will be aimed towards achieving better torque since jts already fast
I tried this with 4985 1250kv and it was not straightforward on the back of the motor. The Traxxas backplate does not physically fit without modification and if it did the axle would not run sufficiently up on the axle. Modifying the hobbywing backplate is too much without the proper tools, but I am sure it is doable for someone adventurous.
@@Sheldinator for sure. I still did it it with the g2 but I had to do a bunch of cutting modifying and dodgey things that will most likely come back and bite me with a snapped motor shaft. One way to find out though right.

Take off the plate from the motor and drill just enough for the rubber to hold onto the motor, no need to go all the way through.
