I got mine today using it via USB and the mic tweaking software crashes on my mac when I select my mic and had to email them for support already, but otherwise seems like a good mic. Mine didn't smell much at all and I'm highly sensitive to bad chemical smells.
I'm glad yours was good! Yeah it was bizarre, I couldn't really talk into it for the first several hours since it needs to be so close to your mouth since it's a dynamic mic and the smell was too bad to be able to do that so maybe I just got extremely unlucky. But I'm happy yours was good! Hope mine was just a one-off :)
Hey Tio! I personally have used the PD400X so I can't say for certain. But hopefully you can use my audio test in this video and compare it to a different video's audio test of the PD400X to see if it's a better fit for you
That may be true in this clip, but just keep in mind that using XLR offloads audio to whatever interface you're using and whatever settings that audio interface has. If you have a really good audio interface and you know exactly what you're doing with it, you can likely get a better result.
Great video If I use PD200x mic with XLR to 1/4 TRS cable to my audio interface, Does this work??? Actually I have Audio Array AI-03............Hope you will reply
I haven't gotten a chance to try the PD400X yet, but it should be getting shipped to me within the month hopefully and I'll make a review video on it for everyone
It's decent since it's a dynamic microphone but you'll still want to try and keep the environment as quiet as possible, I do have a separate video on the channel for removing background noise tho!
It's definitely possible! The audio interface that I'm using seems to not give a ton of lift to the dynamic mics I end up trying out. I'm using the Yamaha ZG01 Interface for clarification
@@CpawsMusicright use is to rec the mic at -12 or -18 db and push the volume at the end of the effect chain with the compressor output gain, than the ZG01 it's ok.
Flipping it over wouldn't change the fact that you can't tell exactly what it's set at since it's solely based off of brightness instead of a normal dial with measurements, but I appreciate the suggestion! Thanks for watching
@@conradcornelia5386 I'm very looking forward to testing the PD400X within the next month or so! Hoping I can swap it out from my main microphone, but we'll have to wait for the video review and see :)
Can you compare Zoom ZDM-1 and Rode Podmic USB/XLR? Zoom and Rode models are Dynamics. I don't know if buy Maono, Rode or Zoom. I have a Zoom recorder.
I haven't gotten a chance to use the PD100U, but there is software that you can use to make the USB sound better for both of them that I didn't cover in the video
i currently have the pd400x and it is SUPER sensitive to noise, it picked up on every keyboard click and mouse click and even my fan. does the pd200x have any kind of built in noice suppression or something like that?
Make sure your gain is set up properly. And if you're using the compressor on the software, it could be boosting up the background sound to an audible level. So be sure to set the compressor correctly too. Cause a compressor reduces the dynamic range of the sound, which means it will make low sounds and high sounds relatively the same level, so that there are no drastic changes in the audio. So it could be that the compressor is boosting the "not so audible" sounds to a level where you can hear it.
@@CpawsMusic as I dislike putting on that pop filter on the pd400x, and the fact that it costs twice as much, makes it not an option right now. Aside from the pd200x and am8, what other mic can you recommend within that price range?
@CpawsMusic oh ! I forgot, I also want to use it with my phone aswell. Can you do that with the am8? As per what I heard you can use the pd 200x with mobile

Replaced the USB cable (seems to fix it) Then Installed Maono software (seems to work ok) OBS can see the mic but has no input, same for Windows. Nightmare of a product! Update - Mano software isn't licensed with windows and had a lot of odd code on the installer so avoided it. most AV software is also very unhappy with it.
Yikes! Sorry to hear that! I actually switched to the Maono PD400X and couldn't be happier! I use it for all my TH-cam videos and streams now :) Here's my review of it: th-cam.com/video/9wQKhU3oVaM/w-d-xo.html
@@CpawsMusic sure) I think you have to compare both of them, the difference is easy to hear. BTW I even use Behringer for commercial ads voiceovers for small business.
@Boyarske you do know condenser mics produce more detailed sound vs dynamic mics right? It's just more susceptible to background noise compared to dynamic mics.

i think the usb one sounds better than the xlr

I believe it's just for the USB option but I could be mistaken
@@CpawsMusicThanks for answer!
I see that you are using pd400x already, which one do you prefer? Pd200x or pd400x?
Pd400x 100%
tank3 vs maono pd 200x
used for voice over who win ?
Haven't used rhe tank3 before
What do you think of Moano pdx 200 regarding noise isolation and sound presence?

Fifine am8 or this one which is better
I like the am8 better

What is better dynamic microphone or condenser microphone?
Depends on your environment and how loud it is
Can you plug in the usb for lighting but still use the xlr for the audio output?
Not 100% sure on that one sorry fam!
can you use it on the ps5
