It's really nice to be able to see what the material is gonna be used for and especially when it's a community project being built by local folks. Enjoyed the video as always guys!
Hey All, Now I enjoyed these big Logs. I know there heavy and a Pain, But it sure does make for some fine watching. Thanks for the video Mark, Eddie and Mark.
Man I wish we were having a cool 85 here it’s 95 down here in south Alabama and north west Fl and no wind and the humidity is about 98 but it’s not as bad as snow on the ground God Bless Y’all up there and have a great day
I love your narrative about what you’re sawing. I learn so much with every video I watch. From the Pacific Northwest with all the lumber we have, I now understand what my sons are talking about when they talk about the saw mills. Thank you!
You are doing a good job listening to that Detroit….it tells you exactly how fast you can feed the log. I think you are very well tuned in to the sound of the diesel and the saw communicating you are right on spot with the feed speed.
Having breakfast and sawing logs. Gonna be a good day. Your voice also reminded me Big Joe on The big Joe Polka show so now I will go over and enjoy some Polka music. Thanks!
Good video! That is some nice-looking wood. Hey, Mark - maybe you should put a small 12-volt fan blowing on the camera. That may be just enough moving air to keep the camera cool during these hot days. You may be able to mount it above the camera blowing down and it wouldn't need to rotate with the camera.
I'm new to the platform, haven't even subscribed yet. Just learning all the methods. But what I noticed differently is that one flag up there, isn't flapping in the wind like it was. I'm Robbie and 68 yrs. old. Take CARE and stay SAFE. 🌲🌳🪵🪚⚙️
I have a suggestion, while working with longer logs why not hang a convex mirror on the end wall to see where the log is at while moving making you aware of the end of the log. Mirrors like this are used on front end alignment racks to see where the tires are at while driving on so you don't fall off the rack.
Not sure what changes you were suggesting... but I noticed the “Beware of Dog” sign is hanging by the Diesel banner and not on the master dog. If you ever have to saw 19’ footers again you’d better hang an old tire tube under the green-white-green flag to act as a bumper. Sorry about the overheated conditions. Some have suggested ceiling fans for circulating hot air. I was thinking about an evaporative cooler, California Chillers work by misting water which drop temperatures. This solution would require spraying water mist probably above the receiving area and your cab but would probably add to corrosion in your equipment. Sorry I don’t have a better suggestion. Wishing you and your team a great week filled with gentle seasonally appropriate weather and restful evenings. Peace brother
Thank god for that, get some chestnut or oak the next batch bro, that wold be fun , I wish I wold be near to you guys and not across the ocean, I wold cook you guys my fabulous dish, mushrooms with spinach and lam , with chped olives ,anchovies olive oil and green salad leaves, with an glass off my 2010 wine , you guys will love , and I wold wold be honered to make that for you guys, you work so hard and im pleased with you're videos, thank you
I mean that bro, its not just a writing or whatever they agreed , it's an honest brothers agreement bro, simple meal to semple love,we got it, do you??!!
Due to the size and weight, your Booms were more like Thuds today. I have had concerns about a log hitting that back wall and today those concerns were valid. It looks like the men had to work a little harder today. I had a power outage last night for a few hours; what is the name of that battery that you use and is it still good????? Thanks!!!!! Good to see you all.
Another good one guys! Y’all keep doin whatcha doin! I wondered what they do with the saw dust?and why do you not put walnut shavings in with the rest of it? Thanks
Just like I shifted a semi by the sound and the tap of my foot I'll just touching a shifter. I would ask your friend when do mistakes happen normally when you push the equipment hard when you're working real real hard and something happens so don't work the equipment quite so hard keep it all lubricated up it'll be keeper on the floor you respect the equipment equipment will respect you and you're going to be way ahead you might have old equipment that runs just as good as a new piece of equipment why buy a brand new one lol
Man those logs just keep going on and on and on through the saw they were long! I thought you were going to bust the bottom wall out a few times mark! Lol🤣🤣🤣🤣

That log turner does good work. Manual labor can't compare. Another good video.

WOW I bet you guys are done with those 19 ' logs ..8 - 12 ' are .much easier 👍👍👍
yes for sure.
These past two videos-I think these were the longest logs I've seen you saw so far. -->Ric
If you go back to the older videos we sawed our 23' oak beam for this building.
@@markgalicic7788 I'll have to check it out.
That is a pretty long log! If you slide it back too far, will the log go thru the wall!
Sure is Mark
I can watch all day

New saw blade.
you can tell by the sound hitting a hard spot
yes for sure.
Watching that on the video as it goes by almost looks like the end is never gonna get to the saw in so long
yes that a long stick for sure.
when you cut 1 in or 2 in thick, how do you adjust the sawmill?
I have 5 presets on the set works that can be adjusted inside the big yellow box on the carriage.

Have you considered putting a hinged double door on the side of your building that you can open up when you are cutting these longer logs?
Thanks!

Mark, how big a kerf does the sawmill produce?

*Hello wonderful great men*
why do you dig holes in side of logs each time you turn it
Saw 2 wood gnomes at the startup of the saw blade....
That was Sammy the Safety Gnome and Carl the Complainer. Sammy has the pointy hat and Carl keeps his identity concealed.

yes very true Ronald , good comment.
Don't ya just love the "back seat sawyers" who like to advise you how to run your mill? 🤨
yes everybody is a sawyer for sure lol.
Sensasional
@ 21:50 and the logs just get larger !!
Only thing I noticed was the 3rd loader arm was reattached
not it Dave.
I’m guessing that the dogs are painted red with danger. Is that it?
You'll never find those boards a Lowe's!!!
You painted the dogs a nice red
Blade RPM and FEED Rate
got to keep it at 600 rpm no less than 550.
As the old guy I used to work with would say, "That's longer than Dad's."
good one LOL!
19 foot 2 x 4' s WOW you are not Home Depot or Lowe's
Hello I watch your video. I have some black walnut logs different sizes apoxamintly 8 ft long.

You reattached the third arm.

Hey from Edmonton Alberta Canada...originally from BC...worked a double stack circular mill when I was a kid....BIG TIMBER!
hello , a top saw would be great for big timber.
That was a great video! Don’t know why but it just was very satisfying for me. Thank you and I hope y’all cooled down on such a hot day. 👍
thanks James.
You speak of Mr. Lazer a lot. But I don't think I've seen him. Could you show us how he works?
It dosnt show up very well on video but I think it's lined up on the saw blade so he can see how to line up the log
What do you mean by "cant"?
a log flattened on one side or more is called a cant , because it now cant roll.
